I remember an interview he had, where he said he had to be "toughened up" a bit by the veterans so he didn't get walked over. So I'm not surprised by this at all. It's a really nice story, though. And whoever said that this is how a champion should act outside the ring hit it on the head. This is the kind of guy you want as your standard bearer.

Nice opening, as most everyone has said. I too liked the various reactions. Anything that brings multiple people into the same angle is cool. ...You know what I mean. Patty, we gotta talk about these theme song choices, man. Drek Stone is teh slimeball. SLAMBALL. I am so tired. I'm liking this, though. It seems a natural partnership. If I was a fan I'd be the fan who cheers Black T. They're so right! I loved this promo. The line about scratching backs and then stabbing them was cool. I did think it was weird that Black T got a mic after beating Zack down -- I thought it kind of hurt the flow a little. But, minor complaint in the grand scheme. CWM coming back was great. The following Zack/CWM altercation made a lot of sense and tied it together for me. REALLY great speech by CWM. Cute cocky promo by Killings but it seemed...kind of generic. I dunno, I'm not saying the Hoff character is cutting edge, but this just seemed like a bland promo I've seen before. Cute, and clever, but it fell a little flat for me. Hot women's match, a lot of action, I liked it, and that's all I got to say about that. This line seemed odd though: - "CABOOSE Lindsay spent the majority of the match targeting the neck, but she could never hit a killer move to put Holly away. A good showing from The First Lady of the LC!" Huh? Seemed contradictory. Maybe I'm reading it wrong, dunno. I wouldn't usually nitpick one line but I was confused. Anyway, COLD promo by Ned. I was into it. I thought Coach's reaction to the new Crystal was odd. I figured he'd still kind of like her. I understand what the dynamic was, but still it felt odd. But it was a really good segment. Crystal FOOOOOOOLED Axel, and then Drek sort of appeared out of nowhere but it's all good. And then the ratings spiked as you-know-who came out, and whichever of you slugs wrote this (NYU?) did well in showing all the various hostilities. I loved the champ and both contenders laid out. It did seem like we missed a Cappa promo somewhere BUT...I liked this "Sonic Youth" guy. I'm already looking forward to this feud and that's cool. Cappa's the kind of heel that I *like* but I like booing....if that makes sense. The...International House of Hatercakes. Uh-huh. I really enjoyed this eight-person tag. My issue with tag matches is I can never get everybody involved enough, to my liking. This didn't suffer from that, or at least didn't feel that way. A lot of back and forth. The T-Bod Shining Wizard was a trip, but as long as it's not a permanent thing it made for a good spot. Four leaf Cloverleaf was cool. Good finish building up to Anglemania, and I might have to agree with CC, it's prolly the best HD match of '05. Nice bit putting over Crystal's new character, but the announcement of Axel/Crystal, I felt, should have been bigger. GREAT Docs promo, well-written, and I like the direction they're going. Rodez and Josie's bit was cute, very funny, and good hype for the X match. I haven't read the Rando bit yet, but I appreciate it's there. So yeah.

A note: I'm not feeling too well, so the Hoff/Stevens affair won't be very long at all. Sorry. I don't think it's bad, but I wanted to do a lot more with it, and I really just can't focus right now. The good news is, I'm staying home from work, so I might be feeling better later today. But yeah, that's my excuse. Everyone say "aww" and sympathize, NOW.

You gotta remember that H truly does seem to love wrestling, so he probably was broken up at least by the circumstances if nothing else. Plus, even the villian knows that the hero is a hero, if you feel me. When a guy like Owen passes on, someone who's truly respected as a nice guy and a professional, it hits everybody pretty hard, even the people who didn't necessarily care for him.
