Well I'd say Angle's not that much better than Sting in a few of those categories to be honest. I've never felt myself emotionally invested in a promo from either one. Sting atleast brought intensity to his promos, something that Angle brings on occasion to a promo. Angle is much funnier then Sting, but he's mainly a heel. Being funny as a heel for the most part is considered a bad thing. You can't truly hate someone that makes you laugh. As a worker, I don't deny that Angle is above Sting. The only era of Sting I might be able to compare Sting to Angle would be the late 80s. However, I think Sting's experience with great workers tends to make him a good worker by default. In my opinion Angle's short career just doesn't match up with the series of matches Sting had with guys like Vader, Muta, Flair. None of Angle's storylines match up with the excitement of Sting vs nWo/Hogan. One of the things you can say for Angle is his best matches top Sting's best matches in workrate. Angle will end up being a bigger star then Sting if he continues his career, and doesn't do anything stupid to end it early. I just don't think he's a bigger star yet in the overall picture. I mean I do see the Angle side of the argument, but I think both guys are more on an even playing field at the moment with Sting having a slight edge just due to the fact that he's been in a top spot in a major company for twenty plus years. I think it's a compliment to Angle that he's already reached legendary status barely 10 years into his career. Hell, but I can argue with you for an eternity over something like this so I'm done with my side of the argument. I think this is one of those debates that can go either way just depending on when you started watching wrestling. I just think saying Angle is "EONS" better then Sting in every category is ludicrous as well. Angle may be "EONS" better then a guy like Bill Goldberg or Sid Vicious, but he's only a mile or so better then Sting if even that much. Edit: I've found some lists on top draws, etc. from the Wrestling Observer I think they are as recent as 2003, but if I'm wrong feel free to correct me. Sting was the face of a company virtually it's entire inception except for a period of time between 94-96 and it's last two years. Sting's merchandise sales in 1997 were second to Steve Austin only who made probably 7-8 million off of merchandise alone if I remember correctly. Kurt Angle is a bigger name only to people who don't watch wrestling and that follow amatuer wrestling, and any wrestling fan who started watching after 2001. I love Angle, but he's never really been on top of the WWE, he was always one step below the top guy or guys. Hell, when I talk to people who don't watch wrestling anymore, the casual fan is more excited that Sting is wrestling in TNA then when I bring up that Kurt Angle is there as well.

While I still favor John Carpenter's Vampires as my all-time favorite vampire movie, and yes I know that that movie is one that most either love or hate. I think 30 days of night was a good balls to the wall, take no prisoners vampire flick. The graphic novel was good source material, and the movie did a good job bringing it to life.

I thought this sounded too good to be true to turn out quite how it was planned. Sounds like they wanted a big extravaganza and bit off a little too much their first time out.

I was hoping for that Raven/Sting feud, I remember reading an old house show report of the first Goldberg/Sting match prior to their Monday Nitro encounter where Raven's Flock came out and put the beatdown on Sting. I was waiting for them to do it on tv, and they never did.
-
Maybe they'll have guys like Dusty, Steamboat, Hayes, Vince, etc put the shows together and realize they don't need the damn writing team.

I was looking at the Lex Luger stroke thread, and as usual quite a few people shocked me with their tauntings of a man having health problems. So I decided to post a good dozen or so matches from his career to anyone that doesn't despise Luger. He was never a Hart, Flair, or even as good as his good friend Sting, but for awhile he was able to have a good match. He was never my favorite wrestler, but I do believe he deserves a better spot in everyone's mind then the guy who was next to Liz when she died, and who couldn't get a tight t-shirt off. http://youtube.com/watch?v=iQCNMOsLU5o The first part of Ric Flair vs Lex Luger from GAB 88 http://youtube.com/watch?v=3Uz2o2xLpzg Part one of Lex Luger vs Mean Mark(Undertaker) from WCW 1990, part two is linked on youtube from this video. part one of Barry Windham defending the US Title against Luger at Chi-Town Rumble 89 http://youtube.com/watch?v=a_yI30pKKF8&...ted&search= part one of Flyin' Brian Pillman vs Lex Luger from Halloween Havoc 89 http://youtube.com/watch?v=LHm03S8Z7OM&...ted&search= highlights of Nikita/Luger 1991 US Title feud, then short match http://youtube.com/watch?v=QvlG7vLAgAM&...ted&search= first part of Lex Luger/Rick Steiner COTC 17, like with all the part ones the second part is on the sidebar. http://youtube.com/watch?v=B_VeFgkylbA&...0rick%20steiner The Unveiling in WWE from 1993(I think Bobby had a crush.) http://youtube.com/watch?v=nOX_1S4OEBI&...0rick%20steiner First part of Lex Luger/Bret Hart from an episode of Superstars in 1993. http://youtube.com/watch?v=DzRozYZHHsk&...0rick%20steiner Diesel vs Lex Luger from 1994 http://youtube.com/watch?v=Vs7UMIWXs-c&...0rick%20steiner Luger vs Hollywood Hogan 1997 Nitro(Wins the world title) http://youtube.com/watch?v=rAcDmRa0Um0&...0rick%20steiner A more recent promo that doesn't involve the words "I Don't Knowww" Recent Video of Lex Luger at a Christian Function I believe.

I'd probably buy this on dvd once they are done if they released it.

Isn't that the night that Hart was talking about at the Hall of Fame where they gave him the Hart Attack or whatever.

Lex Luger suffers stroke at WrestleFanFest
The Buzz replied to GreatWhiteNope's topic in General Wrestling
Well I hope it's just the heart attack for his sake, if he catches a heart problem early he can possibly turn his health around. -
Well this convention seems a bit cursed with the pulling out of Nash, Hall, and Angle. Then the rumors about Lex Luger having a stroke.

Man that's horrible news. Lex is getting his life back on track. I hope he recovers well. -
http://highspots.com/product.asp?id=17744 There is another Benoit book I saw earlier in the year. I figured it'd atleast take a year before someone wrote a book, but I suppose two in one year will come out.

This has been eating at me everytime I see him wrestle lately. Does anyone else think Tomko bares a resemblance to Kratos from God of War on ps2.
-
Damn even WCW usually gave Sting atleast two months to run with the belt, save for that one hour reign toward the end of WCW.
-
Good match listing only match not listed that I was hoping for is Survivor Series 02 with the title win, but I can probably still pick that up on Amazon.

Federal Court rules on Warrior vs. McMahon Case It has been ruled by The United States Federal District Court of Arizona that the complaint filed by Ultimate Creations, Inc. against Vince McMahon; Titan Sports; and the WWE will not be dismissed and will go to trial. "To survive the motion to dismiss his defamation claims, Warrior must establish that the statements 'are reasonably capable of sustaining a defamatory meaning,' and that the statements 'are not mere comment within the ambit of the First Amendment.' Knievel v. ESPN, 393 F.3d 1068, 1073-74 (9th Cir. 2005) (quotations omitted). Defendants believe that Warrior has failed to establish either of these requirements. The Court does not agree. After examining the totality of the circumstances in which the Defendants statements were made, the Court finds that Defendants allegedly made statements about Warrior that can be reasonably interpreted as factual assertions that may have brought him 'into disrepute, contempt, or ridicule' or impeached his 'honesty, integrity, virtue, or reputation.' Consequently, Warrior’s claims against Vince and Linda McMahon will not be dismissed." In a statement made by Bernie J. Gernay of PSI Marketing Group whom represents Warrior, he stated, "There is no denying the legitimacy of this complaint, just as there's also no denying that there is the illegitimate, choreographed world of professional wrestling and then there is the legitimate rule of law in the real world. Warrior lives in the real world. WWE and the McMahons apparently do not. Warrior has made another successful, 'constructive,' not 'self-destructive,' life outside his former successes creating and performing the one-of-a- kind Ultimate Warrior character. The McMahons seem to have problems with that, both acknowledging it and letting it go. They can run their company any way they wish to, but they have no right to discredit the integrity or try to ruin the life of any former talent who chooses to no longer be a part of their entertainment act, let alone do so as they have outrageously seen fit to do in this instance, through a film project that both defames my client and obscenely profit. They can script their characters in provocative storylines where common sense, decency and justice may never prevail, but none of that will play very well inside a real court room in the real world before a jury of real people. My client looks forward to that day." Good for him.

Bound for Glory taking place in Atlanta

Not to mention Sting hit Angle in the face rather then his usual "I hit you in the gut, then you feed me your back" style. -

New MMA Organization Cage Fighting Championships, Inc. (CFC) Offers $3 Million Purse for Randy Couture VS Fedor Emelianenko Monday October 15, 1:45 pm ET DAVIE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Cage Fighting Championships (CFC) Spokesperson Crawford Grimsley announced today, "The CFC will put up a $3,000,000 purse to bring the Couture vs Emelianenko fight to Pay-Per-View. $1,000,000 will be guaranteed to each fighter while the winner takes home an additional cool million, making this the largest single purse for any one MMA fight." Grimsley, a former heavyweight boxer who went 12 rounds with big George Foreman for the world title in 1996 said, "I don't know who set up the current MMA system of sanctioning bodies locking fighters into exclusive long term contracts. I do know who is out to change this system though, we are, the CFC. We are not going to try to reinvent the wheel, but we would like to add a little of the business model that professional boxing has adopted for decades. Can you imagine if professional boxing would not allow champion to fight champion. How many great boxing matches would we have missed?" Grimsley added, "The UFC has made this sport into what it is today and my hat is off to them, but in the same regard, we feel the sport must allow the best from any league to fight each other when the time is right. We are willing to sit down with any and all parties necessary to make this fight happen including the UFC, Randy Couture, the Gersh Agency, Fedor Emelianenko, his manager Vadim Finkelstein and M-1. It happens everyday in boxing. That's how you get an undisputed champion. This exclusivity only hurts the sport, the fans, the fighters and the amount of money a fighter can make. We are going to do everything we can to bring this fight and many others currently prohibited. It's time for the MMA to change for the benefit of the fighters and fans, not the sanctioning bodies." The first CFC event took place October 6, 2007 and has already hit the radar of Mark Cuban's HDNet Network, which only broadcasts in 1080i High Definition, and the hit show Inside MMA. Highlights of the first CFC Middleweight Title fight "Let the Rage Begin" aired this last Friday, October 12, 2007. For airing information, go to www.hd.net and look for the Inside MMA schedule. About Cage Fighting Championships The Cage Fighting Championships bring some of the world's leading professional mixed martial arts professionals into battle inside a 6-foot high caged ring. Headquartered in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. (thanks to Mike Informer) I don't know how true this is or not, but I saw it on Gerweck.net and haven't seen it posted here. -
I just read that Arquette might actually be making his TNA debut, and that he wants Fairplay as his manager. I hate to say it, but TNA just pissed away two good pay-per-view main event with this impact.

According to gamingring.com the early build has gameplay very similar to No Mercy as stated before. Weak grapples, strong grapples, etc.
-
Ron Simmons was pretty good for about 5 years I'd say. Once he left WCW he just started going through the motions from what I've seen.
-
Hell they might throw the belt right back onto Angle.

In some points he seems like a nice guy, then a jerk, then completely clueless about the business he's in. I read like a 10 page preview they had on a website I copied it to my pc if anyone is interested I'll post the pages, it's not a horrible read.
