Well that was an underwhelming fight if I've ever seen one.
-
Earth was pretty decent. It's one of those movies that you'd pick up on dvd after seeing it if you saw it on sale. Not boring or outright horrible, but it's not going to be remembered as legendary either.
How was Transporter or Punisher for those that have seen either. I'm trying to get to the theater to see them before they disappear from the big screen which I might be to late for.

TNA or WWE need to scoop up Jim Mitchell, Larry Sweeney, and Prince Nana and bring back the male manager.
-
Thanks for the speedy reply, I suspected they didn't since they both were on the face side of things and in different weight classes.
-
I think I asked this before on these forums, but I'll give it another shot. Does anyone know if Jushin Liger and Sting ever had a singles match. I remember being impressed with some of their interactions in a tag match back in the early 90s and thought they might have a good singles match.

Was this the time period involving Oklahoma, Madusa. Dr. Death, Barbecue Sauce and the cruiserweight title?
-
The Artist Formerly Known As Prince Iaukea was pretty sweet though, I may be one of the few who liked it though. Thought he did the role quite well in and out of the ring.

BEST OF:
A. Performer Of The Year - the best overall combination of someone who can back it up in the ring but can entertain on promos.
1. Chris Jericho
2. Nigel McGuinness
3. Sting
B. Wrestler Of The Year - the wrestler who can best work a technical match. Though part of "working" is the ability to entertain a crowd (this is why Hulk Hogan can never be called a bad worker - bad mat technician yes, but the man could work a crowd), this is meant for those who may not be over with Casual Joe, but Hardcore Henry says he's the greatest of all time.
1. Bryan Danielson
2. Roderick Strong
3. Tyler Black
C. Entertainer Of The Year - while everyone is eligable of course, the idea here is that just because all their matches are about * or less, you find them to be a guilty pleasure or hilarious or what not. I already know who the winner is but we'll go through the motions.
1. Santino Marella
2. Koslov(Although he seems to get better in the ring as time goes on)
3. The Big Show(I wouldn't consider him a one star performer, but I enjoy his current character since is return.)
D. Tag-Team Of The Year:
1. Miz and Morrison
2. LAX
3. Beer Money
E. PPV Of The Year:
1. Wrestlemania
2. Bound For Glory
3. Great American Bash 2008
F. Match Of The Year:
1. Any of the Jericho/HBK matches were good
2. HBK vs Ric Flair
3. Sting vs Styles/Sting vs Samoa Joe(I know neither will get the nod so I'll vote for both.)
G. Best Television Show Of The Year:
1. Raw
H. Smart-Mark Out Moment Of The Year:
1. Cm Punk wins the World Title.
I. DVD Of The Year (note: The SummerSlam Anthology is eligible for this):
1. The Definitive Ric Flair Collection
J. Feud Of The Year:
1. Jericho vs HBK
K. Angle Of The Year:
1. Sting vs Young Guys/MEM vs Frontline
L. Non-Match / Segment Of The Year:
1. Ric Flair Retirement Ceremony
M. Female Of The Year (either for wrestling ability or because you find them hot, I don't care):
1. Maryse
2. Maria
3. Melina
N. Announcer / Colour Commentator Of The Year (one or the other):
1. Tazz
WORST OF:
A. Least Entertaining Wrestler (Don't use the "Best Of" classifications, this is for the person who you hate to see in the ring because you find no redeeming entertainment value with them - it probably goes without saying they can't wrestle):
1. Colin Delaney
2. Snitsky
3. The Super Eric character(like him as Eric Young)
B. Worst Interviews/Promos/Non-wrestling Segments:
1. Any Prince Justice Brotherhood segments
C. Worst Tag Team Of The Year:
1. Prince Justice Brotherhood
D. Worst PPV Of The Year:
1. Unforgiven
E. Worst Match Of The Year:
1. Something involving the Prince Justice Brotherhood
F. Worst Television Show Of The Year:
1. Smackdown
G. 2008's "Embarrassed to be a Wrestling Fan" Moment:
1. Prince Justice Brotherhood(Hell am I using the correct name for those guys?)
H. Worst / Most Disappointing DVD Of The Year:
1. Before They Were Stars: CM Punk
I. Worst Feud:
1. Mr. Kennedy/William Regal(Just because it ended prematurely due to Regal's suspension.)
J. Worst Angle:
1. CM Punk as the fluke champion rather than being a plucky underdog.
K. Worst Announcer / Colour Commentator (one or the other):
1. Todd Grisham
L. Worst Non-Match/Segment Of The Year:
1. Probably one of Abyss's and Matt Morgan's recent segments.
M. Worst Female Of The Year
1. Soljourner Bolt(Spelling?)

I really hate to hope anyone fails at their goals in real life. I will say that I wouldn't mind if guys like Rey Mysterio and Triple H went away or went somewhere else to freshen up their characters and style. Some guys can be stale and still be entertaining to me, but those two just really seem to be going through the motions.
-
Maff has slowly been making appearances the last few years in different places. Maybe the blacklisting has been lifted atleast in JAPW.
-
-Bret Hart vs WCW. Seriously, in two years, he didn't have enough worthwhile matches to count on two hands. What happened to that guy. Some of them were even shockingly bad, like that jaw-dropping abortion he and Sting shat out in the ring at Halloween Havoc 98.Sting's beard didn't help either.
Their match at Mayhem and the little backstage brawl they did were both good, but very underwhelming when you compare it to what it should have been. I second the Chad Collyer/Ace Steel feud.

Does anyone else get a feeling like they are watching Glacier 2.0 when Suicide makes his interest and goes hog wild on the machine guns.

Ric Flair is holding a training seminar for active professionals. flairseminar.com I believe is the website to sign up. Makes me wish I'd started training last year so I could attend.

Well, even if it's only ok, I will say that the only other show I'm able to sit through on the comedy list is Weeds. I can see how Californication isn't for everyone. I forgot to mention earlier that I'd like to see Mickey Rourke pick up the nod just because I'd like to see this be the start of a full blown comeback for him.
-
I hoping to see Californication, Duchovny take the comedy side of the tv shows. I'd also like to see either Gabriel Byrne(In Treatment) or Michael C. Hall(Dexter) and their respective shows get the nod. Best stuff on HBO, Showtime, or any network imo.
-
That's the final list, good set of matches, but could have used a few more of his matches. The documentary is pretty good, much better than the Samoa Joe, Abyss, Sting, Christian dvds.
-
It's cool to see an NWA/WCW based dvd, and even cooler to see a dvd with Sting front and center on the cover.
-
I'm siding with Nighthawk. Love the original two movies, but I love the remake better.
-
Either way I think this is going to be like the Orndorff/Vader story. I've heard several people say in interviews it wasn't nearly as one sided as some make it out to be, but the legend is Orndorff schooled the big bad bully so print the legend. So in ten years, this will be Joey Styles knocked JBL out cold on a tour overseas even if it was a retaliation sucker punch. Who knows what really happened, but whether he was knocked out or just cut I'm sure he'll think twice about fucking with Joey Styles again.
Sometimes I think it'd be more interesting to have yearly documentaries of the backstage in the big wrestling companies then some of the stuff they put out on tv.
-
Yeah I think anyone there who really cares about their craft doesn't want to be the guy looking up at the lights every single night. I know there are exceptions to every rule, but hell if you got a source of income to fall back on and your health is ailing you. Why not retire?
-
Whats sad is, that might actually make for a better match then the reverse battle royal.
-
I guess she runs a Pizza shop as well. She will definitely be missed, but they've all but put her out to pasture as it is anyway.
-
In a perfect world for me, Conan and Ferguson would be the only two talk shows on late night. Oprah would leave tv forever, Ellen would go bye bye and they'd bring back Tony Danza.
-
I didn't think they'd pull Sting out of the Mafia this quick, but I guess 2009 is rapidly approaching and it's time to begin his send off. I just skimmed through both sets of spoilers, is it Rhino vs Sting at genesis for the gold?

No but he's noticeably leaner then in the past since the wellness policy started. Probably dropped the weight from that.
