Nobody knows if it's going to be arcade or what, but Tekken 4 debuted at E3 2001 and came out for arcade that same year. I don't hate DA. I bought every version of it! It's just my least favorite. BTW, PSM is probably going to have the first info on it in the April issue.

Didn't HBK beat Crips in a tag match to get the original shot on RAW? I think the whole idea of two guys drawing over and over and then someone wins a title shot to set up a 3 way is pretty cool. It's a lot more clever than the usual "two guys in a #1 contender match draw" set up.

What are you talking about? How is saying I am NOT the master, but that I do know a lot about a game "pretentious"?

I'm not egotistical enough to suggest I am "the master" of any game or whatever, but I do have a great deal of knowledge of the MK series.

By the time MK came around, the makers of that game should have learned that balance is pretty important for gameplay. "By the time MK came around"? MK came out in 92! It was being made while SF II was still new. How's Cage #2? He's Joe Average stats-wise, and his specials all suck. Shadow kick is one of the best retaliation moves in the game. Yeah, bosses and a joke character are weaker/stronger than most of the pack. All of MK2's regular characters are supposed to be serious, non-boss fighters. Hence, there shouldn't be a major discrepency in strength among them. None of those characters in Alpha 2 are bosses... Gee, a boss character is stronger than most of the cast. Big shock there. They tried to tone him down to be a playable character...they just failed. If hidden characters don't count then neither do Human Smoke and Ermac in the MK3 games, which make those all the more balanced since they're two of the best in the game. Also, I made it pretty clear that I don't like SFA3 except for Karin, which is why I used Alpha 2 as an example, not Alpha 3. I've also already conceeded the newer Capcom games have balance issues, and major ones. Cable in MvC2 for instance. *shakes head* Not liking Alpha 3 doesn't mean it isn't an example of another unbalanced fighter. It's not just newer Capcom games either. Alpha 1 was too. I already mentioned SF II. Even though it got better with each new upgrade, it still was never perfect. Guile was still better than like Honda in HF. I'm betting Vampire is unbalanced too, I know I've seen tiers for it. SNK is guilty too. Ukyo in Shodown II is infamous. Good for you, but I've long gotten sick of Tekken anyway. *shrug* Like it or not, it's still unbalanced. I'm sure if KOR sees this he can testify that SC series has it's balance issues too. And Rain, and the classic characters, and the whole game being a huge glitchy mess... Trilogy blows. Like Noob, Rain wasn't made by the actual Midway MK team. MKT and MK Gold both have crap like that because they were upgrade home releases by other teams. Trilogy is cool.

I have never seen anyone else say Liu is the best. General consensus is Sonya is tops, then Cage and Kano tied for second. Mocking it for only having 7 characters? Well, Capcom couldn't balance an 8 character roster! SF II is far more unbalanced than MK. Jax and Mileena are the best and Reptile sucks in MK II. Yes. So what? Your own example of Alpha 2 has characters that suck and characters that are undisputedly tops. My point is not that MK is uber balanced by any means, it's that it has the same balance issues almost all fighting games have. And what about other games? With the exception of SF III, everything Capcom has done from Alpha 3 on has been bashed by even the most hardcore of fans for being unbalanced. Even the beloved Super Turbo has to have a character banned. Namco games are the same way. They all have tiers. Jin owns Kuma. Ogres own Jun. MKT is not THAT bad. With a few exceptions, like Noob Saibot(who wasn't created by Boon and the others...), and maybe the bosses(though more in a "they're really boring to fight" sense, than being too good). You don't like juggling?

Yeah, great. Any fighting game that has juggles(which is like virtually everyone now, 2D or 3D) owes credit to MK for innovating the genre. Coffey, I can't tell if you're telling Andrew he is wrong about MK being unbalanced or talking to me because I said MK3 was better than II. If you mean me then I give MK II plenty of credit. It's one of my favorite games ever, I own 8 different versions of it, and I still play it on a regular basis.

No, that's NOT accurate. MK is no more unbalanced than stuff like the Alpha games, the KOF games or even the default rosters in Tekken or SC(and it's ridiculous to not count time release people in those, btw). How can you say MK is poorly balanced? What do you know of MK's higher level of play? Please tell us who and what is unbalanced in MK. There's plenty of things you can bash about the MK series, but balance isn't really one of them when ALL games are the same way. DA is not and never was my favorite in the series. In fact not counting spin offs and shitty GBA games it's my LEAST favorite. From best to worst: MK3/UMK3/MKT MK II MK MK 4/Gold MKDA

Even Midway disrespects Baraka. He hasn't been in a non-upgrade game since his debut in 1993 and his appearances in upgrades are copy & paste halfassed crap. MK is not poorly balanced. At least not any more than the average Capcom, SNK or Namco game. Also, MK3 is the best in the series.

I already have Chaos. I'd get Shodown V for Xbox though.

What bugs me is that last year they went through a lot of trouble to kill of the Kane/UT mythos and now they just suddenly bring it back.

I would not say PD is a must have. In fact just thinking about it makes me angry. GoldenEye is a classic....PD sucks.

You're quoting two totally unrelated sentences. They're not even part of the same paragraph. The list at the bottom has nothing to do with the first quote, it's just a list of 3 more games for DC nobody has brought up, from any company.

"Countless games"? Uh, ok. More like 20, most of which are either crap like Psychic Force, B list games like Project Justice, or just fine on other systems like Guilty Gear X. Then there's SF III and a few SNK games, which is exactly what I said all along. My point is not that the library sucks, it's that it's overhyped. It's the best place to go for 2D fighters from the late 90's on, but where's the 3D stuff? VF3, DOA2 and SC1 are all pretty much irrelevant now and there's no Tekken at all on it. The ports like Alpha 3 and CvsS2 being slightly better than other system's doesn't override that. Maybe you all don't care about 3D, but MY "dream system" isn't just Capcom and SNK titles. Yeah, but just how inferior? In most cases it is really exagerated. The SF games are fine on PSX. DOA2 HC's graphical differences are minor and it has extras. The versus series on PSX is an exception, but the others are perfectly fine. Though I like MSH vs. SF on PSX.

Because saying stuff like MvsC2 on PS2 is "horrible" and "doesn't look nearly as good" is hyperbole. They are nearly the same. Anyone who doesn't already have a DC is not the type of uber hardcore fan that's going to care about some REALLY minor differences. Like I said, it's cheap so there's no reason not to pick it up, but almost all of it's stuff can be found on other systems besides a few SNK games and SF III...which is backed up by your own list. and you left out Project Justice!

I am buying FFCC just because it has "Final Fantasy" in the title.
