People may not buy machines for online play NOW, but they probably will in the future. I don't think anyone at MS or Sony expects it to be a key factor in their success this gen. The point is that it's just beginning. Besides just getting things like the Xbox Live brand out there they now have the perception of being systems with online play. Nintendo now has a perception of being against online. Everyone should know just how important perception is("Nintendo is kiddy!", "Nintendo is doomed!"). MS and Sony have got a huge head start on Nintendo when it comes to online gaming and it's only going to become more and more of a factor. It's already MUCH bigger than their stupid "connectivity". BTW, 32X has DOOM, MK II, VF, Star Wars Arcade and WM Arcade so I'd put it ahead of the DD. They're not very good versions of those games...but whatever.

Yeah but if you do find one that plays losing shouldn't be a big deal.

Things like less pirating and not having to use memory cards are nice and all, but they really don't matter much when you consider the move ended up being a key factor in Nintendo losing a LOT of it's market share to Sony. I mean, what good is saving money because of less pirating when it ends up costing you most of your 3rd party support?

On Genesis MK and MK II and 32X MK II you don't need to pause it on the battle plan, you can just let it sit forever. Not being able to pause in gameplay always bugged me though. In SNES MK3/UMK3 there's a code to enable pausing. WTF? A CODE to enable pausing? What kind of code is that? You can pause the Master System MK1 though!!!!!!

Yeah, that's what always happens. Whenever Korean players come to America for Tekken tournaments they usually win too. BUT...Ed Boon is from the US. So it all balances out.

I know the WWE games and JAM were plastic, but MK II really is paper. I've got it right here. "Rip into the REAL arcade action that 32 megs of high speed 32 bit processing can deliever" OH YEAH~! Too bad it sucks.

I ordered both the other day. Should arrive tomorrow or Wednesday. I got the Limited Edition version of Hyper SF II. I'm pretty excited, even though Hyper SF II isn't all that new. Anyone played them yet? Or the arcade version of Chaos?

Why would it be any more demoralizing to lose to a girl? Japanese and Koreans may dominate most fighting games, but not MK. Chicago was the home of high level MK.

Violent Ken also looks cool. I like his stance. His hair in the artwork is messed up though.

SNK did a better job with M. Bison than Capcom has ever done. He looks so cool in it.

I think it's one of the more overrated consoles around, with maybe only Saturn being more overhyped. Besides a few SNK games and SF III the fighting library is very exagerated. Most of it can be found on PS2 or PSX and the 3D games like VF3 and SC are outdated and have sequels on newer systems. Still, it's cheap, so it's worth having.

I got it yesterday. The problem is, I'm near the end of Wild Arms 3 right now and don't want to play two RPGs at once so I've barely played it. I think I will finish WA3 tonight so I can really get into X-2. So far it rules though! The intro is like the best thing ever. The "girly" tone everyone talks about and bashes is funny and charming, like I thought it would be. Paine is so cool too. Who else has it?
