No but I get a Virtual Boy vibe from Wii. There's way too much hyperbole coming from this recent anti-sony sentiment. BTW the current Xbox 360 userbase is about 5 million worldwide.
-
Of course the average consumer won't spend that much on a video game system. The average consumer didn't even buy a PS2 until it lowered in price. Sony is not going to "see the error of their ways" when they drop the price. They're surely already planning on a drop as soon as they can afford to. They're not going to talk about it publically but they know 600 dollars is not a mass market price.
-
Uh, even 10% of PS2 owners buying a PS3 would be millions sold. Yeah it's not going to reach the 30+ million mark at that price but the big numbers always come after price drops. Yeah? They think one region will be willing to pay more then another. Isn't this part of how businesses decide prices for like, everything? How is this any different?
-
Don't assume because you don't feel it's worth it millions won't. I will buy one for 600. Not sure about launch but sometime in the near future I will pay 600 for it. The point is that charging more in one region is not exactly scandalous. They're obviously confident Americans will pay. I have no doubt they'll sell out for a while. In the long term....who knows? We'll see...
-
No I don't. Different pricing in each region is standard. It's always been that way. MS and Nintendo are doing it too.
-
Yeah, I like how it took them like a year to realize that mistake. Fighting Smoke isn't interesting anyway though.

It's the Midway Arcade Classics 2 version of MK II. So emulation of the arcade. It's decent enough. There's glitches but they're not game breakingly bad, it's just stuff like the music cutting out during the credits or messed up shadows. It's the best home version of MK II at least. A lot better than crap like PSX, Saturn and 32X.

They're hard at first but it's easy to take advantage of the AI.

Microsoft to offer free repairs for 360's before 1/1/06.

This is one of my favorite PR pieces ever. It's like this 50/50 mix of admitting fault while downplaying the problem. Amazing damage control. "we recently noticed" "isolated" "the small group" Right MS, you just RECENTLY noticed this small, isolated problem. -
The faulty hardware cost them all the lawyer fees and the settlement. I doubt they made much money by selling defective systems. Edit: Also remember PS2 was sold at a lose. Sony wants people to buy a PS2 then a bunch of games and accesories. Selling the same person two systems doesn't do them much good. By the time PS2 was cheap to manufacture they had acknowledged the defective systems by fixing them for free.

Nope. They've done a few spin offs though. Mythologies is a crappy 2D sidescroller about Sub-Zero. Special Forces is a 3D beat em up with Jax that is horrible. Shaolin Monks is a two player 3D beat em up that is a "retelling" of MK II and is decent.

They would have been #1 if every system worked, they just wouldn't have been hit with a lawsuit.
-
Hah that was good. Their big battle cutscenes usually are, like the SM intro. Ending it with Liu Kang vs. Shang Tsung was cool. If the endings where anywhere near like that the story would be worthwhile. Don't blame me this time for getting all hyped over this game when it ends up being weak.

Sony has been hyping that kind of thing since before the PS2 launched. I hate "microtransactions".
-
Because of Sony's poor manufacturing. A competent company shouldn't have a problem with DVD playback in a console.
-
DVD playback didn't cause PS2 to break, Sony's poor design and manufacturing did. Same thing happened with the first Playstation.

Moving the remote to control sword swings need to have Link actually mimic what you do with the sword. If the remote just does the same thing as hitting a button then it won't add anything to the controls.

Yeah, Wesker plotted behind the scenes trying to bring them back. You can already tell this RE Wii game is a quick project they're not really commited to. Capcom's RE side games are hit and miss to say the least.

I can't wait for New Action Adventure Game 2.

Google doesn't lie. If you buy a Wii you're supporting the Japanese mafia. Maybe the undead too.
-
Yamauchi does look like a zombie and he usually is wearing huge glasses like a Japanese Kim Jong Ill.
-
Probably at one of his "love hotels".
-
They literally killed him. It was a mob hit. Nintendo has ties with the Yakuza and Yamauchi ordered the hit to punish him for Virtual Boy and because they were afraid of the Wonder Swan. Old man Yamauchi also has ties to prostitution. He is an evil, evil man. I cannot actually back any of this up. I got it from an Xbox fan at another forum.

I like Super Metroid, Star Fox 64, GoldenEye and Donkey Kong Country!

Their stubborn philosphy is why they haven't been #1 in over a decade.
