I just hooked up my brand new 360 and put in DOA4. 30 seconds into the game it crashed. Unbelievable. After all the waiting and looking for a system. Great way to begin the next generation of gaming.

I ordered a Xbox 360 bundle from Walmart and they send the games today but the system won't arrive till tomorrow or friday. So I am stuck sitting here looking at the box to DOA4. This is torture!

I like the music in X3. I wish all these 2D games and remakes were not on PSP and DS. I hate playing games on a portable.

I finally got it. X1 is such an awesome game. My favorite platformer of all time. I like how Zero "scouts ahead" and is gone for the WHOLE GAME. Wow thanks for that intel Zero! oh and as for the controller being difficult to use for dash jumps and firing I switch my finger placement depending on what I do. The best way is thumb can hit square and X at the same time while index is for dash. Years of playing Tekken has allowed me to use the buttons with two fingers comfortably.

I just bought a big 900 dollar 6 game bundle from Walmart. I really only wanted 4 games but whatever. I am just sick of looking.

Yeah I thought of that. Honestly I am more excited for the arcade version of Soulcalibur III than MKA.

There's been a bunch of fake names for that. I've also heard Domination and Devastation. That movie is the Duke Nukem Forever of the MK franchise. It's constantly rumored to begin filming "in a few months" and nothing every comes of it. I don't think they even have a script. All the "news" on it is like years old.

It's weird how Dr. Caine just disapears from the series after 4.

It is For Your Eyes Only that has Moore as Bond visiting the grave of his dead wife. Bond isn't the only one that has changed actors a bunch of times. Blofeld was the villain in most of the earlier movies and always looked different. Felix Liter has been in a bunch of different movies in different decades played by actors of various ages. They've even recast actors. Joe Don Baker was a villain in The Living Daylights and played a CIA agent 2 movies later. There's no need to explain any of this. It's something the audience accepts and goes along with. It's part of the fun of the series.

The game won't be polished. It's Mortal Kombat. Ed Boon couldn't balance 12 characters. God imagine how broken and crappy it's going to be with a roster of 60 characters. And just imagine the recycling. There will probably be like 20 fighting styles spread out amongst the characters. There is NO WAY they will all actually play differently. They couldn't even put in Goro and Kahn into MKD for GC without recycling animation.

Final Fight Eternal Champions: Challenge From The Darkside

That second chariot race really got frustrating. I had to like memorize it.

I think it sucks. There's like 2 hours of actual content. The whole game is just random missions to get the next story level. Chase scene. Boss fight. Repeat. The chases are boring and annoying. The combat is mindless. The whole game feels sloppy and rushed. The only good thing is the comic book style cutscenes.

What is Battles of POP? The graphics in TT are so odd looking, like there is no sense of depth or layering. Their clothes are like part of the skin. Farah looked espacially bad. The Prince's hair was from a PSX era game.

Just finished it. Thought it was great, my favorite in the series. If I knew it was going to be this good I would have got it earlier. Honestly I wasn't that hyped to play it going in. I'm very happy they went back to the linear progression instead of backtracking like in WW. Games don't need to be long just for the sake of being long. Constantly entering a whole new era is much better in a game like this. Is this really the end of the series?

I listened to it tonight and it was boring. I usually like Whedon's commentary too. This one needed more Nathan talking about his pants splitting. The best thing about the DVD is the deleted scene where Mal throws a fake grenade and him falling down in the shuttle and saying ".......I'm ok...." off screen. Lovable dumbass Mal is great, it's worth making him and the Alliance look stupid for those gags. Oh and I got the Chosen Collection Buffy DVD set and the extra disc sucks. The featurettes are boring and the round table discussion offers nothing new. There's a few trademark Joss self deprecating jokes but the rest is uninteresting. Emma is part of the round table and talks for a total of like 30 seconds.
-
Yeah, I hated that about WW. I am glad TT is back to being linear where you just go from new place to new place. The fun of POP is making one crazy jump after another, not backtracking or trying to figure out where to go.

There's a difference. The reploids are for minor parts you can pick from like super jump or turbo fire. The power up in Duff's stage is a piece of the falcon armor. One of my favorite things about the design of X1 and 4 is that when you know what you're doing you can fly through the game and get everything in no time. Do the levels in the right order and there's little need to backtrack. That's why I hate the new style of collecting pieces of armor to get an armor suit. First you have to backtrack to get the 4 pieces then when they're together you go through another series of backtracking to get the items you can now reach with the new suit.
-
Too much backtracking in X5. Like that one powerup in Duff's stage that requires Duff's powers. You HAVE to backtrack to get it and it's at the very end of the level, a slow paced water level. Boring. Bad game design.

Buy Tekken 5. I quit playing TM2 when I stopped seeing the guy I used to play against and no longer had good competition. For a while I was very into two player. It got even better when the Sell Your Soul move was found, battles could last ages with each of us jousting then running off to recharge until someone finally made a fatal error. The best levels where were you could set up intense showdowns and stalemates. Like the island you had to teleport to in Antartica. We would stockpile ricos and one of us would go to the island knowing if the other teleported in it'd be a battle to see who could rico the other off the cliff first.
-
I like the speed kills. Stealth kills are satisfying in every game. The combat still feels glitchy though, like there is no sense of collision or impact.
-
I don't think TMB is nearly as good as 2, especially in multiplayer. None of the levels are designed as well as New York or Antartica and the weapons don't have the same impact.

X5 has the lamest Maverick designs. Only 3 is worse. They have never managed to outdo the first in art design. What's the big deal about letting a reploid die? So what if you lose some lame power up? all the good ones you might need are really easy to get. In all the times I played through X6 I never had a problem with a good power being lost. I think I rank them from best to worst 1, 4, 2, 5, 6, 3, 7, 8.

FF VIII or X. I'll probably go see DOA.

I know someone that got Super Baseball 2020 arcade as part of a lot of other machine. We played it not knowing what it was and had some fun with it.
