They should make Peach playable in the Mario Advance games. How do you pronounce Uwe Boll?
-
Yeah, I played IV only about 5 years ago and thought it was pretty cool but not a classic or anything. It's just too basic. Everyone hypes up the story, like the Kain and Cecil "saga" but it's not much of anything. I guess it would have been awesome back in the day.

I guess people like how suggestive she is. I've always thought she sucked and hate how she is in like every Capcom fighter ever made now.
-
I like the GIANT palm trees. I've looked at that Gamespy list of lists before. Blaze being a top gaming babe is cool.
-
I always hated the SF II Turbo SNES box art. Sagat just looks dumb. He has these weird like ripples or wrinkles on his skin and his facial expression is so goofy. I feel bad for him.
-
Phalanx is the old banjo guy game. That boxart is awesome!
-
Alex has weird fingerless mitten hands, like Elena from SF III. Megaman US boxart is still the worst.

It's funny how the SNES version changed "oh my god" to "oh my car".

Well FF2 came out years after the original when characters like Chun Li and Sonya were accepted. Also I think censoring Poison and Roxy has more to do with what they look like than being girls. They're outfits are fairly revealing, especially when punched.

It makes sense that he wouldn't stop beating people up, since he left Jessica at the end of the game. The way Guy knocks down Cody to get him to talk to her is so weird. I could see hitting him like once, but Guy just completely kicks his ass.

Him being framed is in Final Fight Revenge. In Alpha 3 it says he's in jail because he wouldn't stop beating people up. I think that's the most likely. Poor Cody. I have been playing A3 a lot lately. I wish Dee Jay was in the arcade and the rog was normally playable. Him being time release sucks.

With games that haven't aged well how do you decide how important it was to still belong on the list and what about games like RE4 that haven't even been out a year?
-
I never realized until recently just how bad the SNES port of Final Fight is compared to the arcade. I can't believe it used to be considered near arcade perfect. Rugal is ridiculous in KOF 2002.

Like last time, our criteria for this uber-list of games consisted of a variety of factors, including how good the game was compared to others at the time, the overall game design, how well it stood up over the long-haul, how influential it was in the realm of gaming and just plain how much fun we had playing the damn things. So I guess it's basically whatever they feel like.

Well Evolution got new modes to replace those two, like the quest mode which is really cool. Prince of Persia is so bad. The prince is so stiff and unresponsive. It's stupid how they claim to still play SF II World Warrior all the time. I play it occasionally for nostaglia but I love old school fighting games, I can't imagine the average person still finding it playable. I bet "SF II" really just means "every Capcom 2D fighter" to them. That would explain the lack of the rest of capcom's titles. Isn't SC1, SF II and VF4 the only fighting games there? 3 out of 100 is not enough.

Kumite and the AI training.

I hate how inconsistent these lists always are. They've got SF II up there, which HAS to be only because of nostalgia, but earlier they had VF 4 Evo which means upgrades are acceptable. How could Super SF II Turbo not be better than World Warrior? They also hype up features in VF4 that are not in the Evo version.

I thought it was boring. I didn't care about the characters, it wasn't scary or suspenseful. It just didn't seem to have much of a point. Being a homage to 70's films or whatever is fine but it doesn't mean anything to me.

The age limits on ratings are way too high. You should be 17 to play a M game? What is that all about? Nothing in a game is so bad that you need to be 17. If you are mature and responsible enough to drive a car you can handle animated violence and mild sexual scenes.
-
I am just worried all this is going to make developers too afraid to make games that really push the M rating. We already had games like Punisher being censored to prevent an AO rating before.
-
Yeah, I don't know how the US community could survive this. They'd almost have to get a group together to pool money and buy the arcade.

I don't really like Ultracade or Mame cabinets. The whole point of collecting to me is the original artwork and all that. I get that it takes a lot of space but even if I could only have one I would rather have something like MK II. The exception is Ultracade's Street Fighter Anniversary machine, that's really cool. I'd like to get one when they are cheaper. I have 16 games now, which is pretty crazy. I've ran out of room in two different rooms now and am going to have to start a third. I've got the Neo Geo in my kitchen right now. Lately I've been spending more time and money on arcade collecting than console gaming. Since I got really into this aspect of the hobby console gaming has seemed less exciting.

There's just never been a good home version of SF1. They're all crappy or on obscure systems. It seems like most people have never even seen it. It's like the series started with SF II.
-
The GBA MM collection is still coming, only now it's on DS. Capcom needs to put SF1 on a collection. The anniversary edition should have been 1, 2 AND 3. It's stupid to celebrate the 15th anniversary and just pretend the game that is actually 15 years old never happaned.

But the music is so catchy and the boss design is so good. Just look at Iceman, he's so cute.
