I like the boss that turns into a bunch of fake ninjas. It's also cool how Karnov is in it. More games need Karnov.

Yeah, Guardians of the Hood. Funny game. You could use hobos as weapons and the final boss, "Mr. Big", was a woman disguised as a guy. Like King from KOF but not as cool.

It's funny how he's the mayor of the town and he just walks around and beats people up. He has the nice pants and that weird belt across his chest. I've always wondered what was up with that.

I liked the first although looking back it was pretty bad. The controls where so stiff and unresponsive. You couldn't even do a quick dash, you were either running or walking slowly. To jump from cliff to cliff you had to just barely edge up to it. The shooting was mindless. You just traded shots with the bad guys since there was hardly any way to dodge.

Well most of this is the same stuff they were promising for AOD. If the game gets good reviews I could see a revival of interest. Maybe if the series had a better main character I'd care.

I like MK1-3 which are considered bad by many. I like most of the SF/MK released in the 90's. Even garbage like Way of the Warrior and Kasumi Ninja are pretty fun to check out. I am keeping a Bad Dudes arcade in my house right now.

KOTOR II isn't as good as the original but it's still great. It's pretty much more of the same, but just really sloppy and rushed. A shame.

Has anyone heard about that new book, Queen of the Slayers, that is basically a season 8 of Buffy? I just heard from someone that Anya is in it and visits Xander. I'm like so hyped now, I must buy it tomorrow.

The combos are cool. I wish there was a 2D fighter that really has chains and juggles like that.

They should make Batgirl playable in a game. She was cool on the old tv shows, my favorite DC super hero.

I played the NES Batman. It was ok, but like most NES games was impossible. I remember this boss that was like a giant firespitting moth. I wondered where that guy had come from because I don't recall Batman ever fighting a mutant moth in the movie. I played Returns for SNES for like 20 minutes. Seemed like an ok beat em up. I played Forever for SNES. Just really bad. The big thing I remember about that is how much money and time Acclaim spent hyping it up. Blockbuster video used to do these world gaming championship tournaments and one year Batman Forever was like the big main event. So obvious the games involved had to do with payoffs and not what people actually played. And Batman is in Justice League Task Force, a lame fighting game for SNES & Genesis. I think that's pretty much the end of my Batman gaming experiences.

I don't mean an actual thread about FF VII, but a topic that people really care about. When we were arguing about FF VII there was a lot of emotion. Lots of people either absolutely love it or think it was one of the worst things to happen to games. We need another topic like that, something that people feel strongly about.

But that didn't happen until SF II. The original SF was not a big success.

Sarcasm. I think I'm more annoyed than insulted. And what is with Lara Croft? It seems like the mainstream media likes her more than actual gamers do. I haven't seen anyone talk about her positively in like 5 years but if you go by the media she's like this big gaming superstar. Some show on Bravo just listed her as one of the top 5 greatest female heroes in all media. Lara shouldn't be in the top 5 for just video games.

Mario 64 was only pretty good back then and it certainly wouldn't sell me on DS now. DS needs to be packed in with a new Tekken or something. The new Castlevania is tempting. I just need something must have.

Thanks, I've been in the hospital. XII could be good. Even though most of Square's work has sucked since FFX, it's still a NEW FF and they're always good. Why is it delayed so much though? That and Advent Children are like rare titles. I've gone from being really hyped for AC to complete apathy. I need to buy RE Outbreak 2, Area 51 and Metal Slug 4/5 but can't afford it.

I have two different versions of SF1 for PC. There's the old school DOS port and an emulated version in a fairly new compilation along with SF II CE. The game sucks so much. I almost bought a SF1 arcade for like 100 dollars last year but it's not even worth that. I still think it should be on the upcoming Capcom disc though, just so that it's playable on a modern console. All they have to do is make the controls actually work and the game would be at least playable. This forum is dying because there's never any controversary anymore. We need another big topic that people really care about like FF VII.

I had an Atari 2600 and NES but was never really hardcore into games back then. Too many games where impossible and had no story or point besides getting a high score. It was hard to get into the action when the graphics where so primative. I hardly ever play anything from those times. Way too primative. The games just feel pointless. The 16 bit era was so great. Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat really sold me on SNES/Genesis and made me an obsessed hardcore gamer. I used to play both systems about equally. There were too many good exclusives back then, I don't know how you could live without both. The arcade scene was great too. I still play a lot of games from that era. With the best PSX/PS2 games so many of them are really long and epic. It's hard to just put in and play FF VII for a hour. With a lot of the old 16 bit games I can just put them in, play through them once and it's a good time. The other day a friend and I beat knights of the round. I have a SMS. Got it just because of Mortal Kombat 1-3.

I can't believe the Angel thread closed while I was in the hospital. How lame. I own all the DVDs, even the Buffy movie. I still watch them like every day too. In the middle of Buffy season 5/Angel season 2 now.

In early season 2 of Angel Darla keeps making him dream by putting that dust on him. How did she get into the hotel without them noticing? Wouldn't he smell her and know she was real?

There was two different types of arcade versions, one with the pressure sensetive buttons and the other with traditional buttons. At the beginning of the game you'd get four countries to go to and you'd do them in any order you wanted. Once you beat them you'd get 4 more. Then you'd go to Thailand and fight Adon and Sagat. Eagle from CvsS2, Birdie from SF Alpha and Gen from SF Alpha are some of the characters. Mike is probably Balrog from SF II.

They need to start over with Joss Whedon as writer/director.
