I just like how he points out the stupid game design that was in these games. Most NES games are terrible.

The new issue of Game Informer has the first pics and info on the next MK game due out in October. It uses the MKDA/MKD engine and will be the final game on current gen systems. There are over 60 playable characters. Every character in the series is back. Shinnok, Stryker, Kai, Rain, Jarek, all of the characters you never thought would return are back and have new looks. The only exception is Motaro, who they are having trouble putting into 3D. Create-a-character and custom fatality modes. A new Konquest mode similar to MK Shaolin Monks. Boon hypes that the theme of the game is finality. Story wise this is it. The final battle in the MK tournament as we know it. The next game will be on next gen systems and will apparently be a whole new beginning. I have little hope that the gameplay will be good. The engine is a lost cause. But the idea of this being the big finale of the story is exciting. The big question is how everyone can be back. The most popular theory is that The One Being is trying to merge the realms and is nearly succeding, making it so that Neatherealm is open and in chaos and the dead have risen.

Yeah most of my hate for it is because of how good it could have been.
-
It's based on it but it's worse. Feels like it wasn't finished and Acclaim just shipped it out. It has load time DURING the fight. Like you do a move and the game pauses to load.

There's plenty of awful real MK games without resorting to pirated ones. MK for Gameboy, MK II for PSX or MK 3 for Master System. A trilogy of horror. Yay Khameleon! More ninjas. That is what the game needs more of. Get Tremor in there too.

Play the real version....GENESIS!!!!!!
-
At least play UMK3.
-
Even if the controls work it will still be MK Armageddon. Today's fighters don't do it for you but MK1 does!? Nostalgia wins.
-
The special edition MK Deception came with MK1. MKA Special edition came with UMK3. I think that's it for PS2. It was going to be in Midway Arcade Treasures 2 but they took it out to put it in MKD.

I don't believe this movie will ever come out. This is like the 4th time it's been confirmed to be on the way. It was supposed to be just months away from being filmed before Katrina. It was just last year they were going on about a Sub-Zero movie. No one ever seems to know what's going on. Shou and Lambert have been "in talks" for YEARS. At some point they were even confirmed to be back.

Doom has a soundtrack of ripoffs.
-
I mentioned Rock in the first post. SC and SC II arcade were based on Sony hardware and both came out for non-Sony systems.

It's missing the entire 3rd episode. Still good for a 32X game and better then some other ports like SNES and 3DO.

BTW the change to b+2 isn't the only frame data change for her. f,f+3 is now just -10. At max range it can be unpunishable. u/f+4 is -13 and the double kicks are -14. d/f+3 is -7. f,f+3/4~(2),1 is such an awesome mixup. After a knockdown like elbow follow them and go for it. If they get frustrated with that and start backrolling you know what to do. Julia sucked in 5.0 and now the spirits have given her strength!!! VF1 for 32X doesn't get hate. It was really cool back then. One of the better things about the system. That and Doom....

About VF's commercial success raising while Tekken's is falling... T5DR is doing better in Japanese arcades then VF5. It has since VF5's release. Console sales are not the only way Namco and Sega make money. Jer b+2 kind of sucks now. It's -1 on hit and they can just turn around to avoid the mixups. I don't think anyone uses it anymore. If I do it's just against people who don't know better and do stupid stuff like duck after it.

English Tekken 5 DR is now up. Expect a press release from MS and Nintendo soon annoucing they are conceding the console war.
-
Eh I can't get worked up. A lot of people are ignorant about MK II. It's hopeless.
-
Another bad example. Have you played those? Each is like an entirely new game! New map, new story, new missions. They're totally different games that use the same gameplay system. Not "expansion packs" at all.
-
The majority are buying PS3s? Wii is what's getting all the love these days. I got one to play a niche game! You really have no clue what you're talking about.
-
There's also a Tekken card game for Wonderswan. Wonderswan counts!!!
-
DR has more new content and changes then some full sequels. Not a good example for crusading against expansion packs.

PS3 is going to be the same in 6 months but I'll have missed out on 6 months of fun. Everyone knows about price drops and hardware revisions. You're not bringing up some shocking new wisdom that everyone was too caught up in hype to see. When you buy a new system you weigh all those factors and then decide. For you the risks and price is not worth the new game. For me it is. I know what I am getting into, I just think it's worth it. I am not a sheep and you're not enlightened.
-
New hardware is exciting and there is often at least one good launch game worth buying. I am playing VF5 and T5DR right now. That's better then playing it 6 months from now.
-
Yeah, everyone spends 400-600 dollars to show off. WHY is it so hard to understand there's people that want new games and can afford to buy them?
