    Tekken 5

They had an office T4 tournament when it came out for PS2 and posted the footage. Awful stuff. I remember a Jin vs. Panda match that consisted of almost nothing but regular throws, Jin's new string and Panda's 111. Do you remember when some guys at TZ actually went to the IGN offices to challenge one of the staff? People had pointed out a bunch of errors in his T4 review and he started talking a lot of trash, claiming he was a Tekken expert and that even though he mashes he was still really good. A couple people actually took him up on the offer and he ended up having to log onto TZ and admit he got owned.
  2. That's stupid. It doesn't fit really well, it's more like streching it big time just to make sense of an old dropped story. Why would Noob fight in UMK3/MKT as himself and as Sub-Zero? When he died he became a demon(Noob), as far as we know he has no way of turning back into Sub-Zero. Also, whoever it is it's someone the Earth and Outworld warriors know(because they're all shocked to see who it is). If the original Sub-Zero took off his mask everyone would just be like "um...ok....who's that guy". They never saw him without his mask. Also, Noob being the old Sub-Zero is a new thing. It was a fan made idea John Vogel decided to use just last year. So when that ending was originally written Noob being Sub was not even thought of. I doubt it's actually anyone. I'm thinking Tobias wrote the ending to be mysterious and figured he'd reveal it later then never got around to it.
  3. What I find weird is that most of the people that die do so outside the actual fights. MK is about fighting to the death, yet rarely does anyone actually die in their fights. And for info on what everyone is doing you should check out Gavok's MK story FAQ at gamefaqs. You can find it under any MK game. It's really great. Covers the story and each individual character and has no BS from the comics or movies. The worst cut in MKA is removing Kabal and Stryker. I mean, it's KABAL AND STRYKER. You can't get rid of them.

    Tekken 5

God, playing as Kuma is so frustrating. His ff2 demon uppercut will just randomly pass through the opponent even when you CLEARLY should hit them. It's not just me either, as other Kuma fans are complaining about it at Zaibatsu. I had it happen to me like 3 times just last night. What is Namco's deal with screwing Kuma?
  5. Yeah, Kano tricked her into getting killed by Kahn. After failing to beat Sonya in MK3, Motaro locked Kano in a prison cell in Kahn's evil lair. Sheeva killed Motaro, then freed Kano who agreed to help her kill Kahn. Kano went ahead to Kahn's throne room to be a diversion, but instead of doing that he warned Kahn that Sheeva was coming. When she entered, she was impaled by Kahn's sword. Poor Sheeva.

    Alone in the Dark

Uh, what? That was really hard to follow. Liu Kang falling into a pit of spikes is really awesome.
  7. and just because there's a lot of haters doesn't mean it's a bad game. Most people are convinced II is the best...that has never stopped me from preaching that 3 is.
  8. Jade is so lame in UMK3.
  9. The ending just showed him put on Kahn's helmet. That doesn't mean he IS Kahn. In MKD there's a joke about it, with Kahn getting pissed at Reiko for trying on his helmet. Kintaro just kind of disapeared. This unofficial guide to MK claims he was killed by Raiden(and a lot of fans take that as fact) but I wouldn't take that very seriously. In Konquest in MKD some of the soldiers in Edenia talk about how Kintaro helped them invade, but Konquest's story is so screwy it's hard to take that seriously either. He's probably just chilling out somewhere in Outworld.
  10. I just got a dedicated MK3 arcade machine. I am like, so hyped right now. I can't believe I finally found one! It's in like perfect condition too. OMG this is so awesome.

    Tekken 5

Yeah. The King in Tekken 3, 4 and 5 is a different guy than the one in Tekken 1 and 2.

The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread

Yeah, the magic box website thing is really funny. Too bad it doesn't really exist, like Cassie's peotry site does. Dawn's reaction in Blood Ties is so lame. GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. Yeah, Goro's return in MK4 was console only. It is canon though. The arcade version of MK4 just had no subboss at all(which was really lame). Noob Saibot killed him before MKDA.
  14. Here's the new selection screen with Kahn, Goro and an unknown question mark slot... I wonder what "?" is? Probably either random select or an unlockable Onaga. It's weird that Kahn is going to be in because they're kind of spoiling his return. It's only a matter of time before he comes back to life and is the big boss again, but now that we've seen what he is like in the new 3D games it's going to take away the surprise. It seems like such a waste to have Kahn's big return with the new graphics be as a bonus in the GC port.
  15. Well, besides cheaters the gameplay is incredibly broken(and boring). Lots of infinites and other glitches and the mechanics are too simplistic. You can't break throws so they're heavily abused. Very few moves are safe thanks to how slow and plodding the gameplay is, so all you see is people abusing 3 or 4 safe pokes, throws, long ass unbreakable chain combos and infinites. Gets old fast. Play for like 30 minutes and you'll have seen Bo Rai Chos throw so many times you'll never want to see it again.
  16. Why dont you like it? I thought you liked MKDA? I dont like any of the 3D MKs as much as the 2D, but I did like MKD more than MKDA. The online play(or any competitive play) is completely ruined though.
  17. MKDA is not a remake or retelling of MK1. It's a direct sequel to MK4. MK1's story has been completely reworked over the years. Shao Kahn wasn't even mentioned in MK1 or any of that "outworld must win 10 in a row to take over earth" nonsense. Outworld wasn't even trying to take over in the original story. And no, I don't want a remake. The story is ok how it is now.
  18. They never said. He's one of those characters that just vanished never to be seen again. Im not exactly missing him. There's fan made theories and rumors that Reiko is everyone from Tsung, Kahn, Rain, Ermac, and who knows who else.
  19. Rain is the lamest palatte swap. A character based on a Prince reference.....
  20. "Classic Sub-Zero" in UMK3/MKT is not and never was the original Sub-Zero. His ending reveals this. It says he was thought to be the dead Sub come back to life, however when he removes his mask everyone is shocked to discover that it's actually a long missing warrior, who's identity is not revealed to the player. Human Smoke being playable was just a non-canon bonus. In his own MKT ending it even says he will remain a robot forever. The difference with Cage or Liu Kang coming back is that they actually wanted to bring them back fully time and be part of the story. With H. Smoke and CSZ they just wanted them in because it was easy and cheap to add them thanks to palatte swapping. Lame? Maybe, but it doesn't really screw up the story. The only problem with it is that they'll probably never reveal who CSZ was. I doubt John Vogel or Tobias know anyway.
  21. I agree they're lame extras, but I doubt it will screw up the story. I'm guessing they'll both be non-canon bonus characters, like Kintaro and Goro in MK Trilogy. Both are already in the PS2 and Xbox versions with little non-canon easter egg appearances(like being in cells in the Prison Stage) so it's not like this is anything new for MKD. And I'm not really following your complaints about the MK mythos. It's never been restarted and how has Sub-Zero been abused? Because it's been two different guys? It's one of the more developed stories in the series.

    Super Punch-Out on Gamecube

I heard about this last month. Kind of cool. I'm not going to get the game just for Super Punch out though. I can play the SNES cart.

    Tekken 5

Namco never actually said that he did that. Everyone just assumed it because he had people's moves who weren't in Tekken 3. But that has never made sense. Look at his movelist. He has moves for Anna...who is IN Tekken 3. He has moves for Bruce...who "died" in a plane crash. He has moves for Kuma...who died of old age. He has moves for Kazuya...who had fallen into a volcano. Half his moves are from people he couldn't possibly have met. Yet because he has Wang's moves and Wang isn't in the game everybody just assumed Wang must be dead. Ogre has people's moves just because namco wanted a big all powerful boss and a lot of people from Tekken 2 where missing from Tekken 3. That's it really.

    Tekken 5

Kuma with an infinite would be a great day. I remember when ff+2, JF salmon Hunter was found for Kuma in T4. Same kind of thing happened. The game is doomed, Kuma is now top tier, ect. This being found does suck though. I hope it's not the first step in T5 getting the kind of hate T4 did. I'm sick of being treated like a second class citizen in the fighting game community because I play Tekken instead of VF or SC. Oh, and Ganryu has a win pose where his eyebrows wiggle. This makes me laugh every time.
