Mostly to distract from what was really going on. Until Jasmine shows up it's all misdirection. That's a lot of work for a "distraction". This is the same fan explination we get for FE's nonsensical plans. Jasmine's omniscient. She knew Angel was going to ruin her plans, she just didn't know how. She was trying to get Connor to kill him. That's my take. If she's omniscient shouldn't she know Connor would fail at killing him? It really seemed like she wanted Angelus as a cronie, not just to kill him.

I didn't get the Angelus thing. Like why was he crucial to her plans? What was the point of blotting out the sun and the rain of fire? 75% of the season doesn't seem to match the last part, as far as evil schemes go.

I'm guessing they haven't actually seen Pangs in years and are just assuming it sucks because they all are too much in love with Angel. Every one of the syphilis bits is funny. Nick should have got an Emmy for it. Xander: Can we come rocketing back to the part about me and my new syphilis? Anya: It'll make you blind and insane, but it won't kill you. The smallpox will.

No one else likes Angel season 1? Probably too monster of the week for you all. They're good eps though. I forgot Pangs was on. Oh well, Something Blue is really good.

There's a specific quote in one of the eps that mention's its all over the state. The mayor talks to Jasmine and even the national guard is called in. It can't just be LA. Everyone starts to leave SD in Empty Places and it's fully evaquated in Touched. EP, Touched, EOD and Chosen are all in the span of 2 or 3 days. How that compares to Angel I'm not sure of, but the Jasmine arc and Home are all around the same time and end BEFORE End of Days. Everyone leaving SD is stupid. In Storyteller they close the seal and in LMPTM it's said everything has gone back to normal(well as normal as things get in SD). Two eps later it's apparently so bad everyone is leaving with absolutely no explination for how or why the seal is re-open.

Sounds awful. Why even bother making it if it's not going to have key characters?

I can deal with them not calling Buffy. But it's funny how Jasmine's spell covers all of Cali....EXCEPT sunnydale.

Pangs was on today? Good. That means it should be on this morning. I'll probably watch it, even though I just recently watched it a few weeks ago. Like I said...over and over..never gets old.

MK3 and MK4 did really well. MK4 sold about 1.5 million. MKT over 2. I am thinking there's a good chance MKT is actually the best selling 2D fighter in the post-16 bit era. It's even still in print and selling.

I don't know what kind of sales you're expecting or what "sounds" good but 2 million is great for anything, but especially a genre like fighting games. It's especially impressive when you consider how fast it got there, with most of the sales being in the first few months and well before it came a Greatest Hit. It's also impressive that it's done better than stuff like T4 and VF4 when it's only big in the US and Europe. The other big fighting game franchises have Japan as well. MKDA is able to not only hang with them, but actually surpass them. The only thing higher than MKDA is SSBM, and counting that as a fighting game is kind of dubious. The only good traditional Japanese fighting game that's close is SC II. DBZ Buduki was also way up there, sadly. I don't think anything by Capcom has sold over a million in years.

Ugh, Dark Angel is no Buffy spin off. That's just horrible. Dark Angel has nothing on Angel.

S6 is one of the best for both shows. Great main theme, good arcs for every character. Good stand alone eps. Also has the best big bad. Bargaining, Life Serial, OMWF, Tabula Rasa, Double Meat Palace, Hells Bells and the final eps are all really good. I like S7 more now than I did when it first aired. I've gotten over a lot of the problems over time. I still hate how a lot of the scoobs act though. Sefless and Storyteller are top tier eps. The season also has a really good big bad and mini-bad. Chosen both makes me really happy and extremely depressed. The big thing I hate about S7 is that all the scoobs became basically minions for Buffy. It used to be everyone had a story and a role. In S7 it's The Buffy & Spike Show while everyone else just kinda stands around. Xanya had been the longest running, most stable relationship in the franchise and it got like 3 eps worth of material the whole year, mostly just thanks to Jane Espenson being a Xanya shipper. Not enough gimmick eps either. Gimmick eps are a must. Everyone here is mostly biased towards Angel. They're crazy.

MK sells more than the Japanse fighting games, so I doubt he's really losing any sleep over it.

Why not? It's so funny it's one of the most entertaining eps ever. I could watch it over and over and never get sick of it. So why NOT give it a top spot?

Pangs is hilarious. It's like the funniest ep from either show. I am a huge fan of Espenson and this is her best. There is just so many funny lines and scenes. I love how everyone will go from talking about the threat to the thanksgiving dinner back to the monster. How could anyone not like Pangs?

Why? I can see S7, where they barely do anything, but what's wrong with Xanya in S6? It's great. I love the build to the wedding. It's so funny how obsessed she is with it. It's cool to go back and see all the subtle hints that Xander wasn't ready. So many good wedding jokes too. Then the aftermath is so heartbreaking and emotional. Emma and Nick are so good at being pissed at each other. I wish the S5-S6 era of Xanya would have lasted forever.

I prefer to think of myself as passionate. Xanya is everything Bangel isn't. It is the most believable ship on either show. Everytime they are on screen I completely believe they are meant for each other. Even when they are bickering and fighting I believe. I wish so much they had done a pregnancy storyline. That would have been the best thing like ever.

I don't like Bangel much either. Well, it's ok, but it's really overrated. It's so fairy tale. I don't really buy the emotion. It just comes off as "destiny" or a story more than real love. In S1 and S2 they barely even do anything or spend time together yet it's sold like the greatest love EVER. Also the age difference creeps me out. Angel is like an adult and Buffy is a teen then, and not a very mature teen either. They don't even seem to have much in common.

That's why I was talking about ANGEL s3.
