Fine, but there's no denying he was the savior of season 7. I'm watching Touched now and him bugging Spike is the only good thing. Well that and Xander and Anya having break up sex.

It is just Groo. That's what the Groosalug does. They have kyruption or whatever and she passes the visions to him. He is a special half cow/demon thingy that gets the visions like that. It has nothing to do with others. I just noticed Anya wears glasses in Bring on the night. What's up with that? Did her 1000 year old demony eyesight fail then get better again? It's a cute look. Beljaxa's Eye is such a rip off of the Hamburger Wes talks to.

Taking the visions is what makes Groo the Groosalug. He's a special case. If anyone is a player in Angel season 5 it's Andrew. Even if he is barely in it, it's still Andrew. He was the MVP of Buffy season 7 and Angel season 5. He is the season savior. Harmony is horrible. She is unfunny, not interesting, irrelevent and a disgrace to the opening. Harm is the worst character to reach regular status in the history of Buffy, Angel and Firefly. I can't believe she survived. I want her staked to bad. The fact that she ended up fine and my characters are dead and maimed makes me so mad. Illyria is boring, but at least Amy Acker did a good job with the acting and she has a uncanny resemblence to Kula from King of Fighters.

I would have liked to see Amber do the FE after it was found out. When it leans towards Willow and threatens her. Cassie was really effective then. It would be weird to see Tara act like that.

I just noticed another mistake while watching Showtime. Buffy throws Andrew's Holy Water at the ubie and it is stunned and later clearly burnt. However in Empty Places when Anya talks about the info from her "demon contracts" she says holy water doesn't hurt ubies. WTF? It's like they didn't even bother to check Bring on the night and showtime when they wrote the later stuff for the ubies. It's not like they had to retcon it for storyline purposes either. In the end them being immune to holy water and being able to be staked was irrelevant. It's like WWE writing. Tara was going to be in season 7 as FE, but Amber Benson refused. Too bad. The Cassie stuff in CWDP ended up really good anyway though.

I watched the end of Angel and some of season 7 on FX this time around with my mom. Explaining the mythos is funny. You really see how convoluted and silly some stuff is. Everytime I try to explain it all I am reminded of Giles and Buffy talking about Spike's chip, soul and trigger and Wood getting all confused.

One of the season 1 monster of the week eps would be the best way to start. I introduced my mom to the Buffyverse with the girl in question.

Yeah, it sent the ubie after her, but the ubie made sure to let her live. Buffy being tired doesn't explain the fact that ubie was busting out some crazy kung fu moves. FE mentions that that one ubie was really old, like it says older than insects or something. If there's any explination it's that the first ubie was much older than the others. I don't really see the "ubies are weak in chosen" flaw as much of a flaw though. It's lame, but that's just how minions work. One bad guy alone is tough, in groups they suddenly become weak. Compared to some of the other things in season 7 it's not a big deal. That Anyanka figure is cool. I like how it comes with the hammer. OMWF Anya!!

Keep in mind Giles had been wanting to leave since as far back as early season 5.

I do think Joss had ubies planned. "From beneath you it devours" and Willow talking about the hellmouth having teeth is logical build to ubies. I think Joss always knew the end would be a bunch of SITs being activated. Season 7 brings up Buffy being alone an abnormal amount of times and that was pretty much the only way to blow off the SIT story without having Buffy or Faith die. I think Joss knew from the start the final battle would be ubies vs. slayers and that it would end with SD being destroyed. The problem is they had no clue what to do in the middle and they had a villain that couldn't actually do anything. So that lead to all the filler and disorganization. If they could do it over I would bet they would wait to introduce FE. That is the key problem. Once FE came you pretty much had to drop any other arcs because FE is such a huge problem. What time is there to do a story with Xander/Anya or Dawn when this huge war is coming? They should have continued to do one shot monster of the week type stuff a lot longer and just had FE in the background being slowly hyped up. Then have it kick into gear and go with the big final battle stuff much later. That's why everyone says CWDP is when it all went down hill. When FE took the offense the whole thing fell apart because they had to hype the war and they had no idea what to do except for how it was all going to end. The whole little series of CWDP, Sleeper, NLM, Bring on the Night and Showtime - when they were doing the first ubie stuff, that is when it all fell apart and became a trainwreck. They got stuck into that hole where everyone just sat around Buffy's house waiting for FE.

I really doubt "we're going back to the beginning" is supposed to be ubies. The original plan for S7 was to go back to the show's roots, monster of the week, light hearted stories about high school. That's why they rebuilt the school and why the early eps focus on Dawn in HS. Look at like every early S7 interview and you'll see Joss hyping it up. FE is probably talking about that. Notice it says "we're all going to learn a lot about ourselves" or whatever? What would ubies have to do with that?

I know about Marti being EP, but she is still credited as being one in S7 along with Joss. Jane Espenson and some others are like co-EPs or something in 7.

It is said multiple times that Buffy must be killed last. It even makes sure to let Buffy live.

Had FE's "improvised plan" worked it would have screwed up it's big picture plan. So that makes no sense and just comes back to FE being the dumbest villain ever. It's kind of hard to just ignore it's placement in TGIQ. When I watch Buffy/Angel I watch them in order, they don't just exist in a vacuum. It badly hurts not only that ep, but the following eps and the ep before it. Horrible writing.

I am watching Never Leave Me now. The combo of Sleeper and NLM must be the most boring set of eps in the history of Buffy. It's like 2 hours of filler. Anya and Xander interogating Andrew is the only good thing. Wood at the end of NLM makes no sense. What's up with him burying Jonathan and acting all posessed? Marti got fired?

I don't get Sleeper. FE tries to get Spike and the vamps he sired in the basement to kill Buffy....yet at that point it shouldn't have wanted Buffy dead. That goes against it's slayer line plan they introduce just 2 eps later.

I didn't like the upsidedown castle because it felt artificial. Like they felt it had to be longer so they just had you repeat it all but slightly different. It looks lame too. I'd rather have it so there's like an extra hour or so of the first castle with a couple more bosses than do the upside down thing. It makes for a cool extra for beating it or something, but as part of the regular game it's pretty weird.

I have LOI. It's decent. I'm not really hyped for HOD having two castles, if it's like SOTN. I always thought that was pretty lame.

All of them are like that. It's just the way Capcom made it. Very strange. Can you actually play through arcade and see the endings and stuff?

I have a GB player. It just makes the picture big. It still looks and sounds like a GBA game, which doesn't compare to SOTN's presentation.
