This was a beautiful beautiful movie, I agree at first I thought "okay too self-concious cutsey dialogue" but it settled and all I could think while watching was, "where were all the Juno's at my high school growing up, and why wasn't I getting them pregnant?" All the deserved talk for Ellen Page for Best Actress notwithstanding, I hope people remmember Jennifer Garner, she took what looks at first like a one-note character and gives it depth and surprising tenderness. WTG for JJ Abrams allumni.

How did you find out that wrestling was not "real"?
DMann2003 replied to majormayhem1's topic in General Wrestling
I kinda knew it wasn't 100% unplanned, though like most I always wondered when the "act" stopped, like if 2 guys brawled backstage did they break it up once they got past the curtain. One of the earliest videos I rented was SummerSlam 88, and my Dad pointed out to me during the Warrior/HTM match how HTM turned himself while lying on the mat to get into position for Warrior's splash. That was my first clear cut proof that "okay, these guys are staging this stuff". But it was still fun. -
So I bought Volume 1 of the Rumble Anthology and I'm watching the 91 Rumble, and I knew Shane Douglas had a brief run in late 90/early 91, but I was surprised that a) he last nearly a 1/2 hour and b) how much Monsoon and Piper were putting him over. I know Douglas left to take care of his sick Dad, but were there plans to push him big in 1991? Anyone know or did Shane ever say anything in a shoot about that first Fed run?

Given Baltimore shitty defense tonight, those could still turn into rushing TDs -

At this rate, I'm sure the Colts break 60, odds on them getting to 70? -
That is so sad, funny and unbelivable...2 fucking yards shy...

I was at FYE today, they had a ton of TNA DVDs marked down, I got Best of AJ Vol 1, Best of Daniels and Best of Samoa Joe for 9.99 each.

Nothing is bad about an episode that has such frequent use of "Carry On Wayward Son"

Who else got the Twin Peaks Gold Box Collection today? I did, this set is aptly named too. Grabbing some cherry pie and coffee...

As always, I felt in the hands of a fully capable artist, Wes Andersen films are so tightly constructed, that in lesser hands they would feel artificial. Yet his characters are so fully at home in the world they enhabit it never once feels fake. Adrian Brody fit right at home. I never understand why some people criticize Wes' work for having characters that you can't connect with. They are emotionally frustrated but I always can understand where they're coming from. I'd place this film next to The Royal Tennebaums, just below Rushmore.

I have one question- How much acid was dropped in the "Earl" writers room for this episode?

I like that some of the powers aren't the obvious super powers- like freezing time or flying- last year all Charlie had was a super photographic memory and now Michah's cousin has pitch perfect mimicry, I mean we'd all want to fly sure, but wouldn't it be cool to be able to play a sport perfectly just by watching others do it, regardless of ones own attributes?

Speaking of Drew's first show...Perfect game and 1,000 dollar winners in each Big Wheel spin? Somebody rigged that show Lol!!

I saw Across the Universe this weekend, glad to see them slowly roll it out, it made 4 mil on under 1,000 screens, so not too bad. I liked the movie pretty well, being a Beatles music fan. I was disjointed, had a paper thin plot, and was not subtle at all, but from when they perform "Because" in a field and underwater, the songs and the film flows very well. I'd give it a solid B.

That's "Shoah" Foundation, and it's 10x funnier when you know that

The credit crawl alone was funnier than the last hour

Hmmm, the animation style seems upgraded- trying to match up to the film's look I thinks

I've always thought if Cena were to go full blown heel, he should be like Denzel Washington in Training Day, all "King Kong ain't got nothing on me vibe", surrounding himself with a posse, and starting shit just cause he thinks he's unstoppable.

That's actually funny, in a dopey way

This will just de-evolve into a thread of people posting quotes from the films- I have no problem with this "Ray has gone bye-bye Egon, what have you got" "Sorry Peter, I'm petrified beyond the capacity for rational thought"
