Can Cincy please play all it's games in Seattle from now on? I fear this is another "Reds score huge and rout the other team, then go on to lose the next 5 games" trend tonight. Still, 9 runs in 3 innings, DAMN!

The new AFI Top 100, coming June 20th on CBS

No, this list didn't actually give away Pyscho and Empire, I'm just complaining about the fact that in today's culture these films have and their twists have been given away, it's so hard to go into a film, especially an older one these days completely clean. -

Hah, The Searchers went from the 90's to #12, I think it has the best jump. Now, which film fell the furthest without falling off -

I think 66 years more than exceeds the statute of limitations. Some 10 year old budding film geek is going to go through life knowing what Rosebud is, who Mrs. Bates really is and who Luke's father is before actually seeing the films, I just find that sad is all. -

If this List had been made 5-6 years ago, Blair Witch would have been on it- Amazing how a film can develop such a media sensation and be forgotten about so soon afterwards, the film did gross like 150 million on a 35,000 dollar budget. -

Geez, is the AFI so desperate for donations that it needs to do another one of these lists, and it's first repeat at that. I will say I expect "Titanic" and "LOTR" to pop up on the new list. Seriously "Pirates" is fun, but one great performance by Johnny Depp better not nudge films like "Network" or "Chinatown" off the list. Still pissed that "Nashville" isn't on that list. -
Okay I'm betting this is all a mindfuck done by the Dharma Inititive, that Jack and the Losties are all doped up and being experimented on the Island- and it's John Locke and psychic Desmond to the rescue.

Is it wrong for me at this point to say that I don't want Pam to be with Jim? I like Karen, I really like her. That's why this show is great, it takes the one character that shows introduce to create tension between the 2 leads to stay apart, that the public should hate, and yet I love Karen. And it sucks because she's probably getting the corporate job and leaving.

No fucking way...

Well that's were the van and stale beer came from- And it's just cool that Lazlo Hollyfield from Real Genius is Ben's dad.

I saw the film last night, thought it meandered and wasn't as tightly focused, Sandman was an unnecessary character, but there was a lot I liked and didn't feel the film was a waste, so I'd say B-/B overall. But as a small rant, what is it these days with having super villians in Spider-man films being flawed individuals, who don't mean to be bad, just more carry their obssesions too far. I mean Venom is the closest one gets to a true villian (and even then Raimi tries to give Brock enough hard luck to make you feel semi-sympathetic for him). Would it be too much to ask for Spidey to face someone who truly wants to hurt the city, and isn't redeamable. Course if they go with The Lizard, it'd be another character who isn't a bad man, just ends up losing control until the last 5 minutes where he has a moment of clairity and redeems himself (Right before death Norman Osborn felt regret at what he'd become, last words being "don't tell Harry"). I want a true Bad Guy. That's all.

Why didn't anyone tell me that The Wicker Man...
DMann2003 replied to Downhome's topic in Television & Film
Oh man, seeing all the Con Air and Face/Off quotes reminds me of that great 1997 summer, when I had a free screener ticket for 2 to see Contact, but the show was full. In this situation the theater usually lets you see another movie in exchange. The couple in front of me in line asked for 2 tickets to another film and when I got up I asked "So, can I get 2 tickets too?" And they gave me 2 tickets, 1 for Face/Off and 1 for a later showing of Con Air. I swear that was one of the best nights at the movies I've ever had. -
Put me down on the Scaface camp. Geez three hours of Al Pacino doing an over-the-top Dezi Arnez impression, what genius. I've only watched the film all together maybe 2 times, but I just find it so boring and not engaging at all.

There is no way I am NOT owning this when it comes on DVD.

Amazing how deep and rich this show has become in the course of just this one season.

A few new pictures of Tammy "Sunny" Sytch

She's looking like Renee Zellwegger in Bridget Jones- Which is good I might add, cute with a lil extra, and very healthy too. Good for Tammy -
Jim- Oh my God, he's gonna kill himself pretending to kill himself

Loved Karen's uncomfortable look after Kevin kept goading Jim about how much time he spends at Pam's desk
