How to convert your Showbiz Pizza into a Chuck E. Cheese
DMann2003 replied to spman's topic in Food Folder
God I loved my Showbiz Pizza as a kid, 8 lanes of Skee-ball, huge ball pit, tons of arcade games, and the animatronics were plugged in to perform Top 40 hits of the day. I've been to Chuck-E Cheese's in the last couple years, they suck now, way too small, more concerned with crappy ticket games. Thank God for Dave & Buster's -
Whispering Pines- The Band, sadder still when you think about Richard Manuel's suicide

Got Volume's 3 & 4 for Christmas, so I'm pretty happy having the whole collection now. I'm just continually knocked out by the new transfers, these films come to life like brand new, no more dirt and scratches to mar the presentations, which really hurt watching Goldfinger and On Her Majesty's Secret Service. 2 of my favs.

Defense is putting the screws hard to Cutler today, good to see.

I've said it before, and it bears repeating, Nashville may be the best film made about American culture in relation to men, women, religion, music, fame, love, death, politics. If he made no more films that reached what that film did, Robert Altman would still be greatly remembered. But he also did M*A*S*H, McCabe and Mrs. Miller, The Long Goodbye, Popeye (a very underrated musical comedy), The Player, Short Cuts, Cookie's Fortune, and Gosford Park. Last year he was rightfully recognized by the Academy, and next year he desrve to be again in memorium. I haven't felt this taken aback by a filmmaker's death since Kubrick. The great one's are soon to be leaving us. RIP Mr. Altman. Robert Altman had one of the great tales about how he made movies- he used to say he'd stick in an out of nowhere moment of cursing (f-words) to get an R-rating in order to keep potentially noisy and distracting teenagers out of his films.

A definite highlight and a great action thriller, what's great about it is for once Bond uses his own wits and skills, not Q branch, not the villians screw up, not a bunch of weapons or a bunch of extra agents behind him. This film, first and foremost, is about BOND- not the villians, gadgets, locales, women, pure and simple this film is about what makes James Bond tick. It's not flawless, no Bond film (and few otherwise) is. My only question is, where do you go from here. I mean we do eventually need Q to come along, and brief spar with Moneypenny. But as long as those traditions come along at the service of the film and its story, not the other way around, I say with have some very good films to look forward too.

My city's paper (Dayton Daily News) in its entertainment pullout had under music coming out next week a listing for Chinese Democracy, any news that it's gonna drop on Tuesday?

I picked up both of the new Ultimate Editions, and I think they've done a fanastic job with them, the best they'll be until they're released on HD-DVD or Blu Ray. Goldfinger's new transfer is amazing, the old DVD had so much dirt, specs and overall looked old. The colors stand out, the print's been cleaned up and even if you don't like a new 5.1 DD or DTS sound, there's the original mono audio track. Most of the new stuff is old press stuff, but it's pretty cool to see how things were marketed at the time of release. Can't wait until volumes 3 & 4 come out, I'll get them too.

Saying of course "Ace Ventura" would be a hit because Jim Carrey is *ahem* big on "In Living Color" at the time would be like saying a film starring Will Forte dumped in the middle of January will be a big hit.

It was all about bringing back Bernard, everyone else was just excessive, Bernard is THE KEY. And don't forget, we got Desmond out of the 2nd season, and Be 'Henry Gale' Linus, so it's not a total wash.
