  1. HOOO LEEE FUUUUUUUCK!!!
  2. And yes, Munich was the best film of 2005, perhaps the most stunning and thrilling work of Spielberg's oeveur.
  3. I agree, the film never clicked for me, because essentially we're shown these two miserable, selfish people, and expected to sympathize with them. This is not a case of making a film about selfish people, and merely observing them (as example, There Will be Blood), we are expected to understand and feel for these characters who give us nothing to cling to because of their absolute self inwardness. If the film had given us more than a few passing glimpses of where they started, to give us a sense of what, if anything drove them, it might be easier to understand them. But in the end we're left with half formed characters, not at all likeable and then asked as an audience to understand their behaviors. Not buying.
  4. I actually envisioned Jericho winning the match, even after interference attempts from Flair and Piper to help Rourke, thus maintaining a wrestler come out on top, while Rourke gets the "respect applause for a good try" from the crowd, waves at them, mouths 'I love you' and that's that.
  5. Sweet, Albatros is on it too!
  6. Bob did you see the Larry King Live segment?
  7. Yeah, Jericho's got a whole month to focus on Elimination Chamber, then after NWO and the Oscars, they can pick this up.
  8. Dyer's Eve? Fuck, that will be impossible.
  9. Maybe Rourke's gonna downplay this until after the Oscars, and this was just the sowing of the seeds
  10. Should we create a separate "Wrestler" thread in the WWE folder relating to this angle and leave this thread to discussing the film? EDIT: It's fun to read some of the comments on Larry's live blog, most people actually think Jericho is genuinly upset and think he has poor taste. It's so weird how non-wrestling fans are quick to make cries of 'it's fake' and yet think anytime these guys speak in public in character, they're being real lol.
  11. Oh dear God...this angle's on Larry King Live I must say, I bet Jericho loves this idea, he's gonna get so much publicity, Rourke...well enjoy the Golden Globe, I get the feeling they were gonna give Penn his 2nd Oscar anyway.
  12. I have HDNet, so it'll be cool to have weekly ROH programming.
  13. Until it becomes critically acclaimed, then he sucks up to it EDIT: Except for Beyond the Mat, though had it scorred a Best Documentary nomination, might have been different "Hey Darren, remmember when I glowered at you after the screening and threw you out of my building? I was just trying to get heat on ya my boy, c'mere, HA HA HA"
  14. Dr. Frederick Frankenstein "That's Fronkenstien"

  17. So, a couple Golden Globes and Oscar Nominations and suddenly the WWE doesn't mind attaching itself to a little Wrestler publicity, because we were all waiting with baited breath what Mark Henry thought. WWE.COM Reviews The Wrestler
  18. Well, now that the nominees are over, the real question can begin... What clip from Tropic Thunder should be used for Downey Jr's clip?
  19. Look, I realize these awards are silly when you think about it. But dangitt, I'll say this, if The Dark Knight had come out in December, might've been a different story. Or May, cause Crash and Braveheart came out in May Remmember when the Oscars nominated summer movies that were critical favs too? Like Apollo 13?
  20. Hoffman's in drag again!!
  21. Look, I wouldn't have been as annoyed by this if Nolan had at least got Best Director, cause alot of years there's one guy who gets nominated for directing but the flick doesn't get Best Pic. But Stephen Daldry? Seriously? This guy is like the Michael Bay of art films, he has no personal voice, his style is all "I make prestiege films like The Hours" I mean, this guy has directed 3 films in eight years, and each time he gets nominated. And he's never a front runner, he's just...there.
  22. "FUCK DC Comics, man..."
  23. Whoa Whoa Whoa....Springsteen didn't get in? Look man I love Slumdog, but come on guys you can have up to five Best Song Nominees, I would've figured The Boss and Eastwood would've filled out the other slots.
  24. May I note I am happy that Taraji P Henson got nominated You know what? Warner Brothers should pull Ledger's name from contention, as a way of saying to the Oscars "You know what Academy, you're not going to profit from his death by showering him with an award, when you couldn't give a shit about celebrating the film he was a part of"
  25. We all know who we can thank for this...Harvey Weinstien
