    The Bible is literally true.

I would like to interject for Jingus that I myself believe that everyone who ends up in Hell chooses to go. Not right now, as I'm sure whenever you do something considered "sin" you don't go "HEY, I THINK I'LL GO TO HELL!!!!" My belief is that when the time comes for us to meet God, those who've lived 'dark' lives will be so ashamed of it in comparison with God's light that they will refuse heaven. But that's a bit complicated in itself.

You're arguing for literal interpretation, and you say you shouldn't put a direct interpretation on an "ambiguous" passage? I'm sorry, but without faith the whole Bible could be seen as "ambiguous". Also, I added that the part about the origin of the Nephilim is true if you believe the book of Enoch. Though I don't necessarily argue this, I would love to see you list them all. I know many Christians who make this claim without knowing any prophecies other than the ones listed in the gospels. There are three different themes to the book, the events which occur stretch beyond the lifetime of one man, The language used varies, and so forth. Give me your reasons why I'm wrong and I'll tell you what I think. If you'll read my post, you'll see that I speak of polytheism existing BEFORE ISAIAH. This isn't to say that there were other gods, but that YHWH didn't assert Himself before then. You quote me Corinthians, which is hundreds of years after YHWH established Himself as the "one, true God." The gospels where each written by different men. If we both saw a wrestling match at the same building, even if we sat next to each other, we'd write about it differently. Actually, thanks to the dead Sea Scrolls, we have a better idea as some of the scrolls date back to around 300 B.C. The Torah, or at least most of it, is the first five books of the Bible. Christians believe that Christ fulfilled the Torah. I myself would argue that they influenced each other, but that's just how I look at it. I actually believe that Moses' time in Egypt influenced his religious views, as well as Abraham, who lived in Babylon before he made his covenant with God. I think it's near impossible for someone who was raised one way to completely ignore that. But that's just me. I wouldn't agree, but I wouldn't disagree. If you look at some of the Byzantine texts, there are places where Christ is given several names (i.e. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ) whereas in other texts he is just called Jesus. (this isn't a direct example, but it gives you the idea.) Petty bullshit, I know, but just an example) When and where? Most times I remember they worshipped the golden calf INSTEAD of YHWH. He was a carpenter who was called rabbi. Using this argument, though, you validate many Apocryphal books which the Jews at the time used to learn from, including the book of Enoch.

    Idea for X Cup

I was wondering the other day if TNA was still going to do the World X Cup now that their Wednesday PPV's are done with, and an idea struck me. TNA could actually make the World X Cup a serious tournament idea. (Take note that I don't believe the previous X Cup was as serious as it could have been, and I'll explain why.) Instead of having X Cup matches on Impact, have "qualifying" matches, in which wrestlers compete for spots on the four separate teams. (US, Mexico, Japan, and Europe.) Start with around 8-12 wrestlers competing for the four spots on each team. Have these matches on Impact, and hold a "World X Cup" pay-per-view seperate of the actual major TNA PPV's. The qualifying matches would showcase the individual talents of the teams, and would hopefully be hype enough to sell the PPV to everyone. This idea utilizes the original concept of the X-division, because the people qualifying for Team USA wouldn't be just TNA stars, including guys from NWA affiliates all across the US (as long as they're talented enough). It would also help TNA test the water for developing new talent from the regionals. Also, advertise the Japanese, Mexican and European promotions. If you go with CMLL, sell some CMLL merchandise on a world X Cup mini-site. Do this with all four teams. What do you say? (Except for Mike, who would consider this the "night of the shitty spotfests," which would actually be a good name for a PPV.)

    The Bible is literally true.

It is also important to note that the monotheism of the Bible only begins to take shape in Isaiah. Before that God was considered to be only the "god of Israel" as every nation had their respective deities. This was so developed that a king traveling to Babylon actually took a cluster of sod with him so that he could worship YHWH in another land. In Isaiah, though, YHWH declares Himself a Cosmic God, and assumes the role of the "one true God." This was the final ascent of YHWH from Storm God (in the early texts), to the Omnipotent Cosmic God. EDIT: And though I do think the Bible is inspired, I can't honestly say that it is inerrant in every shape and fashion.

    The Bible is literally true.

As for who wrote about Adam and Eve, it is accepted by many (including Jews) that Moses wrote the first five books of the Bible. (The Torah or the Pentateuch) There has been debate on this, though, as German scholars developed the JEDP theory based on the literary style of the writing. The theory states that there were four writers based on the language used for the name of God. There are two flaws in the JEDP theory, though: One being that the Germans did not have any Ancient Near Eastern text to compare their copy of the Bible to. This is a flaw considering that it was the custom of the time to call deities by several different names. Babylonian, Egyptian and several other records back this up. The second flaw being that each book was written with a different purpose and in a different tone. No one would write a memo at the office the same way they write a historical narrative. And no one would write an e-mail like they write a legal document. This plays into the Pentateuch(first five books of the Bible) as some parts are narrative history, and some parts legal document (Deuteronomy in particular). Not to mention the editing that has taken place over the centuries. As for people living to incredible ages, it is believed by some that man was never made to die. God created Adam, and later Eve, in the hope that they would not sin and live forever. The fall ocurred, and part of man's punishment was mortality. The murder story of Cain and Abel is considered to be the first death in humanity. It is documented in the Bible that God shortened man's life after a group of Angels known as the Nephilim began marrying the "daughter's of men." [And Jehovah said, My spirit shall not strive with man for ever, for that he also is flesh: yet shall his days be a hundred and twenty years. Genesis 6:3 ASV] The children of the Nephilim and the "daughter's of men" are considered by some to be a large reason behind the flood, as they were quite sinful and (if you believe the book of Enoch) taught magic and war to the humans. There is, without doubt, human influence on the Bible. Seeing that the Old Testament is considered a historical portion of the scriptures, it is inevitable that there were biased views. There is some proof that the Bible's accounts are true though, through archaeological finds including a tablet showing the Israeli king Jehu paying tribute to the (I believe) Babylonians. It's a necessity to remember that when the Bible was written, people were trying to justify where they were at a certain point. After the inhabitants of Judah were driven out of their lands (Isaiah, Nehemiah, Ezekiel. I think) you see those in Babylon trying to prove they were in God's favor, as well as those who went to Egypt. This is also true in the New Testament. The gospels WERE written after the death and resurrection of Christ, and some of the prophecies in the Old Testament not meant for Christ became an explanation of Christ (22 Now all this is come to pass, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, 23 Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, And they shall call his name Immanuel; which is, being interpreted, God with us. Matthew 1:22 ASV. This verse is considered by scholars to be about Hezekiah, not Christ, and the "Wounded for our transgressions" passage, which is considered to be about the death of one of the 3 writers of Isaiah.) Knowing this, though, I still believe the Bible. If anything, this helps me to believe it more.

Should TNA start the new Impact format tonight?

I don't mind the six-sided ring, but I do believe it should be utilised better. Have someone use a submission *gasp* on a champ, and have the six sided ring cost them the belt because of the extra turnbuckle making the ropes farther away. Subtle things make the difference. On a side note: A mark friend of mine watched Impact! with me, and really liked the six-sided ring. He also liked the X-division matches, and Jeff Hardy. And yes, his is a hick.

When is TNA going to wake up?

Honestly, the biggest problem that Dutch and JJ suffer from is lack of consistency and well thought out storylines. I myself don't mind the drawn out feuds, as long as they are consistent, and interesting. Think back to a few months ago when Monte and the Truth were going for the belt. Shamrock came in, and Truth and Monte was put on the backburner. Then Hardy came in. He gets a title shot. Whatever happened to Monte being the #1 contender? Oh, Hardy had it put in his contract. So he replaces the Truth and inconsistency reigns supreme. How many TNA feuds have gone like this? The other major problem is the afore mentioned run-ins. EVERY big match ends with interference, and for a while, every IMPACT! did too. This is miserable booking. Anyone in this folder, except maybe LFV or WMD, could book TNA better. Now that I've pretty much repeated everyone else: I myself prefer backstage interviews to in-ring interviews. I think that at times in-ring interviews can take longer than necessary and say less than they mean. Perfect examples of this are HHH and JJ. Twenty minutes of TV time to say something they could in 2 minutes backstage. The problem is not where the interviews are done, but how. I despise the "backstage confrontations" that start out as interviews, but end up as fights as the heel the face was challenging comes out to attack him. Jarrett is the worst about this. If you're going to do backstage interviews, do it old-school. It starts a great war of words that helps to build up the feud. But make sure it's just a "war of words" and not much more in the promos.

    Benoit DVD Discussion Thread

I was so pissed watching the commentary with Grisham. You could tell how little he knew and cared to know, and I think that's pretty insulting. Especially when compared to Coach's commentary with HHH on "The GAME" DVD, and with Foley on his latest DVD. I was extremely glad to see the Japanese matches, as this is the first non-"garbage" japanese footage I've seen, and I'm loving it. As for the American matches I'm a little disapointed, but Benoit puts on so many good matches, you can't have them all on one DVD. I'd say this is up their with Flair's, and way past Foley's DVD's

People knowing that Jarrett sucks goes way back

I've always hated Jarrett the character, though like some, I actually liked his early TNA work. It's after Raven got screwed that I started to really hate him. But yeah, most of his "national" work has been less than stellar.

    Random TNA news

Yes, one man can. He can have more experience on editing equipment and programs, and have the knowledge of what makes a video better. Also, guys with limited experience (Like those in TNA seem to be) are happy with what they can do at that moment, not what's possible. They look less at the capabilities of what they work with, but what they can do themselves. Or at least that's what I've experienced in my few years of working with A/V equipment.
