Religious Tolerance & Religious Moderation Are a Joke
TheBigSwigg replied to Big Ol' Smitty's topic in Current Events
Free Will is not tied into God's omiscience because God exists outside of time. God is not bound to our timeline, therefore he knows what has and what will happen. And to answer WWM's question, in the Christian mindset evil comes from people who ignore the truth. The truth, in the Christian Mindset, being Christ and the Bible. I'd try to explain this, but I'd be better off giving you the name of the person who I got it from, Ravi Zacharias. He's got a podcast called "Let my people think" you can get off of iTunes for free. He goes into that argument in detail. -
Religious Tolerance & Religious Moderation Are a Joke
TheBigSwigg replied to Big Ol' Smitty's topic in Current Events
How about we make a deal to figure this out when we're all dead and gone? If there is a God, and the Bible's right, we'll find out afterwards. And WWM, the Bible being the Word of God does not mean that God created it Himself, it means that he inspired those who wrote it. How it was inspired is up to debate. If you don't believe in God, then it doesn't matter, does it? And you shouldn't worry about people who do believe in it because you don't believe in it. Otherwise you're just as bigoted and intolerant as the Fundamentalists. Also, to re-affirm what others have said, religion is neither inherently intolerant or violent. People are. The Bible does not tell us(general humanity) to kill outside of the laws set forth in Leviticus and Deuteronomy, and those were laws for a nation. And Jingus, I could debunk some of those "inconsistencies." But it would require you to believe in the Bible, or be open to understanding the Christian mindset. -

Supreme Court Bans Partial Birth Abortion
TheBigSwigg replied to Danville_Wrestling's topic in Current Events
The argument made by the prosecution before the Court against adding a "women's health" clause to the bill is that the Partial Birth procedure requires extra dilation of the cervix, and therefore requires more time than the standard abortion. If the woman's health is indeed at risk, it would then theoretically be more dangerous to do the "Partial Birth" procedure than the standard abortion -
Not all Christian zealots are southern, and not all Christian's are hypocrites. That's like saying all Muslims are terrorists or all black people are gangstas. I don't laugh when people poke fun at any group like that. I cringed when Vince called Rosie O'Donnell "The Left Leaning Lesbian." I don't like Cryme Tyme's gimmick because I think it's cheap. I don't think we should take pot shots at ANYONE. Whether Muslim, Christian, or any other religion, I don't see religion as fodder for cheap heat in a wrestling angle. Shit like that leads to garbage like "McMahonism." As a "religious" liberal, I sympathize

First off, Russo wouldn't piss off any "Christian" viewers because he himself is Christian. Second off, quit being an asshole. There's no need for anti-Christian bigotry in this thread, or any for that manner. I know you're just shooting at the "conservatives", but try being tolerant for a change. Even to intolerant people

The Paul Heyman Smackdown shoot on McMahon
TheBigSwigg replied to Man Who Sold The World's topic in General Wrestling
WRESTLING IS A WORK. It doesn't matter if he's accurate or not, retard -
Since this thread was doomed from the start, would you care to clarify this statement? Is your pet peeve intolerance or semantics? I promise we won't flame you if your answer contains logic. Since I agree with Invader, and this thread has already pulled me out of lurking, I'll throw my thought on this out there. The Bible doesn't say anywhere to hate gays. It says that a man sleeping with a man, or woman with a woman, is un-natural, and an abomination unto God. This in NO WAY says to hate homosexuals. It does say that their lifestyle is not consistent with Christianity. Jesus Himself says "Love your neighbor as yourself." It's idiotic "conservative Christian" fascist types that are homophobic. They're essentially the exception to the rule. Kind of like how everyone thinks that all wrestling fans are fat beer guzzling rednecks who think wrestling is %100 real. People who are truly Christian, who live a life consistent with the teachings of the Bible, are NOT homophobic. They just don't agree with the decision. Love the sinner, hate the sin.

The Pope only leads the Catholic Church. Now that I've been a dick, I'll give that a lot of Christianity is full tilt homophobic.

How Christian of him. I didn't say he was a good Christian That would make him a good Christian because Christians hate fags, it's in the bible. Please Shut up That's not to say AJ doesn't agree with that statement.... Whether he does or not doesn't make that a true statement. Nowhere in the Bible does it say to hate gay people

TNA's VKM At Tonight's WWE House Show in Knoxville, TN
TheBigSwigg replied to Enigma's topic in TNA Wrestling
because the wwe fans at the event now know about them. This show took place in Knoxville, which isn't that far from TNA's original home-base. With local promotion in that area, it's not like TNA is something those people are just finding out about. How anyone can see this as anything BUT a desperate attempt at being edgy (yet failing miserably) befuddles me. If it was creative, such as Nash and Shelley involved, it'd be slightly better but here it's the two side kick bitches of DX walking around calling out Michael Hickenbottom and Paul Levesque in their horrible attempt to appeal to a market they already have gotten notice from. Actually, Most of TN doesn't know about TNA. They never promoted themselves outside of Nashville. In any way, shape or form -
Boil some water. Add 1 bag of Lipton iced tea per quart. 1/2 cup sugar per quart. Mix together and add ice.

What's really scary is the guy who started that church. He made tons of money off of drugs, found God, straightened up and started his own church.
-
I did. Several times. He'd clam up for five minutes, then start again. I would've done more, but I was with my wife.

The last show I went to was horrible. It was the Dayton show were Cornette got kicked in the teeth. The crowd ruined it for me. There was a retard in the VERY BACK who felt like he had to CONSTANTLY say something. He kept yelling "Kick him in the taint" during every match. It was funny the first time, but after hearing three times a match, I was pissed at the end of the night. Not to mention that he yelled "Prince Justice" every time Abyss came out. That's the worst crowd I've EVER seen at a wrestling show. Included a boring as hell RAW. And tigeraid, it's great that people were into the Detroit show, but the crowds do get bad on occasion. And when they're bad, they're BAAAAD

If you can put the blame on 1 person for the decline of the WWE...
TheBigSwigg replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in The WWE Folder
Except Ted Turner didn't merge Time Warner with AOL. That happened before Ted Turner was in any way shape or form involved with AOL-TW. Turner owned Turner Broadcasting, which owned WCW & most of the Atlanta Sports teams. He merged his company with AOL-Time Warner. Turner became a VP at AOL Time Warner and gave up his role as head of Turner. It was actually the head of Turner Broadcasting who said no to wrestling. AOL had nothing to do with it, as though it is merged with Time Warner in name, they run as seperate entities. You want proof? Time Warner Cable offers Roadrunner high speed internet, which impedes on AOL's market. AOL Time Warner is a massive clusterfuck, yes. But blame the guy who was in charge of Turner Broadcasting, not Steve Case or Ted Turner -
So says the kettle to the pot

At the Ring of Honor show that I went to in Dayton, OH (1/27/06) the crowd actually chanted "Flock of Seagulls" at Shelley. I thought it was pretty funny. They chanted something else first but I can't remember what it was because it wasn't as funny. They were trying to chant "Alex is Emo." It didn't work. It wasn't as bad as "Kick him in the taint" every five minutes, though

The dude's not Dave O'Neill. I've talked to Dave on other boards, and he's a lot better now than he has been in the past. The dude is a prick, though. And has pretty baseless arguments.

I would classify Coheed as Prog rock. As did Entertainment Weekly & Rolling Stone, IIRC

I've read in interviews with guys like Punk, Daniels, etc, that Joe looks stiff, but isn't as stiff as he looks. If this were true, it would make him an even better worker
