I would agree with his point in general, though. It's ironic that a band naming itself after the character in the Neverending Story considers itself Hardcore (It seems more "emo" to me). It's like the word Extreme. They're overused and misunderstood terms in modern society.

I would have to agree. I would prefer to see Swinger and Kenney work a singles feud.

The Unprotected List for the NBA Expansion Draft
TheBigSwigg replied to Kurt Angle Mark's topic in Sports
Scott Layden. And No, he wasn't THAT good even before his knee injuries either. Essentially the problem is that the Knicks made the finals as the eighth seed, and ownership thought the team was better than it was, and desperately needed to retain its top players. Hence, bad contracts abound. From what I remember, Houston said his enormous contract was a way of the Knicks repaying him for the meager amount of money he made early on. But that's a very vague memory. I myself believe the money came after he was part of their Finals team from a few years ago. The problem was, they couldn't really keep any of the rest of the guys. Wonder why? -

Does anyone else see a Matt Hardy/Kane tag team coming out of this?

Very much agreed. That smile was enough to even make my hero He-Man cringe. Isn't He-Man gay? I think he would like it.

Care to provide examples of this? What YOU are looking for is a circle-jerk, where everybody tries to out-do the previous poster with accolades. TNA has problems. Since most posters there refuse to face them --- it's up to somebody to mention that yes, they have problems. "Oh, that's all you do" --- well, gee, let me tell you how many TNA shows I've heard described as "bad" on this board. Thus far --- NONE. Not one is flat-out "bad". There is a ridiculous level of denial over the product and anybody who presents a REALISTIC look at TNA is flamed incessantly. And an alternative that is worse than the WWE does no good and if they don't improve, TNA could go belly-up tomorrow and I wouldn't give two damns about it. First off, Mike, the point is that we don't care if it's an alternative to WWE. Secondly, I now see the error of my ways and would like to thank you with enlightening me on how TNA isn't the greatest fed in the world, as I never saw it beforehand. I always thought that they were doing everything perfectly, but your intelligent and well written posts have enlightened me to realize that IMPACT is just an infomercial, they have a horrible business model, and pushing Jeff Jarrett is bad. I would've never known that without you there to point it out in every other post. I bow to your genius. And now I want to go to Tim Horton's whenever I'm in Canada.

Just to clarify, my sentence did not end at "opinion." My problem with your posting, Mike, is not that you give your opinion, but that you basically interrupt any discussion we're having just to say something along the lines of "It doesn't matter, TNA sucks anyhow." We don't care if TNA is or isn't an alternative to WWE, we just like TNA. I'm sorry if you don't feel the same way, but I'm pretty sure there will never be a perfect wrestling organization until you run it. By the way Slapnuts, good impression.

I'm all about getting rid of the stupid "segments/game shows" like Hearsay, etc. I'm also getting sick of the Ten Questions/Six Pack/4 Downs... segments. (I actually like 4 Downs, but I think you get the point.) It seems they keep asking their "experts" questions instead of giving out facts. Croc' o' shit.
-
My only problem with Mike is that it seems he answers every other post with a reply with his opinion, which just happens to completely negate what everyone is wanting to say, and it seems like he's doing it just to piss us off. If he wasn't in every thread telling us how TNA is bound to fail or how bad they suck, it wouldn't be such a big deal. Honestly, up until a week ago, I actually had respect for him and thought he could make some good points. Now he's just getting annoying.

Ok, trying to clear things up.... Silkin bought out Feinstein's part of ROH, but not RF Video, right? So does this mean that RF IS out of ROH, but not RF? Someone clarify that a bit, as the Observer summary confused me on that point.

That's true, but there is nothing wrong with "fun to look at", if they are providing something deeper later on in the show. The point of the criticism of me was calling these matches shitty spotfests, which they, as you admit, tend to be. -=Mike Ahh...the shitty spotfest complaint. As I've said before, they're probably to lure in fans of Mexican wrestling, and since you're not one Mike, they don't care what you think. Neither do I. hmm....

Here's a link to the petition the TNA Street Team started. It's to get TNA on in a better time slot, maybe on F/X. Reading the signatures is half the fun... TNA Petition

I'm behind you all the way. Mike is a piss off that makes me not want to read any thread. You hear that Mike? FUCK OFF
-
Whether or not they listen is not the point. That they see we care is the point. But they'll only see that if they get THOUSANDS of signatures, not hundreds. And, I just think it's amusing to read it. Did you see the Vince McMahon signature?

Multi man X-Division match's are good for the whole 'wow' factor though . . . the spots they pull of with 3 or more people make people sit up and take notice, or at least they did with me. I figure they should start off with a few of these, before gradually moving towards more single's match's to get the individual performers accross. I'm waiting for Mike to come in and call it a "shitty spotfest." I think the multi-man matches are to lure in the fans of Mexican wrestling who might not watch WWE because of the "entertainment" factor.

I think, as do many others, that Jericho would've been verified as a true main eventer had he beaten HHH at WM X8. He would've beaten Rock, Austin, and HHH. Though not cleanly, it would still have forced people to say "Hey, maybe he is something..." Note: THis is not just blind HHHate, though this is where my HHHanger started.
-
Unless they really build up the feuds. I used to hope WWE would split to 6 PPV's per brand, because the better build-up equals better buyrates, as more people will pay to see what happens. Though, I would hate to have every feud start and end every PPV.

That's two gimmicks they've stolen....

Yes. Go Naturals. And didn't someone call Sabu and Dutt in the tag team thread?

Superman To Begin Production Sometime This Year...
TheBigSwigg replied to a topic in Television & Film
If they're going to let Catwoman go to the crapper, Superman looks likely as well -
I must say that reading their forum has made me appreciate every one of you ten fold. Even Mike. That's how sad it is.
-
I actually think the Naturals are a great team, as their match on Xplosion a week or two ago really impressed me. The more I watch them, the more I like them. But I would love to see more tag teams.

I have to admit that after paying $40 bucks for tickets, with HIAC supposed to be the finish to the HBK-HHH thing, I was pissed that HHH-HBK was the first thing I saw. I stood up and placed my hand over my heart. I'm pretty sure I was the only one, though. I have to agree with you there. Even Matt Kennedy Gould complained that there was too much talking. I'm also at the point of giving up on watching WWE for a while. NOW AS FOR THE TOPIC.... saying that Benoit doesn't get a decent crowd reaction is dependent not only on the area, but the size of the crowd. The Nutter Center is a smaller arena, and wasn't completely full. His pop won't be as loud as the Rock at the Skydome. The fact that the arena isn't full isn't completely his fault either, as HHH is the focus of the show, and I'm sure there would be more fans willing to shell out cash if they thought they'd see more than just him. (Trust me, I've asked my friends, and they think the show is the same every week.) Also, the crowd gets into the match when Benoit is in it because he commands attention in the ring. I'm a Benoit mark, but holy shit if he didn't blow my mind while he was working. I've seen Flair 3 times now, and he doesn't hold a candle to Benoit's presence. (I saw him once in the early nineties, once in the mid nineties, and Monday night. Not quite his best stuff, but good nonetheless.) You have to watch the match when Benoit's fighting, but not with everyone else. ESPECIALLY not Edge. I don't care how much that chick in front of my thought that he was good.

I like the idea. At least Mordecai is giving a reason to feud with Eddie, it's better than throwing Booker T or RVD into a feud "just because." Who knows, maybe Mordecai's secretly going to soften Eddie up for Taker. (Like Bradshaw hasn't done that already.) EDIT: I forgot that I must mention that Mordecai is a rip-off my best friend's gimmick.
