For anyone who's unlocked it/her/he/whatever, does Jigglypuff's rest still have the capability to nearly one hit KO? I'd assume so, but you never know. That became the greatest thing in the world for me. The look on someone's face when you'd get them with rest was always priceless. If you'd do it from an angle they wouldn't expect, like jumping towards them, the other player's jaw would just drop. Immensely amusing. I want this game

ROH 3.14-3.16 (Dover and Philly-PPV)
Hawkius Maximus replied to Hawk 34's topic in General Wrestling
If ROH put the title on Go Shiozaki, I'd be a fan forever. Kobashi 2.0 needs his breakout badly. -
...Link sucks? News to me, unless they drastically made him less effective in this game.

The best part of that 2000 J Cup promo, is he walks up to CIMA who he was aligned with (in Super Curry Max) and begins to go off on how he has to win now...CIMA has absolutely no idea what to do, but goes along with it. And yeah, Curry Man is obviously Daniels. If you've seen Curry Man in Japan, it's clearly the same guy.

Does anyone know of a stream for Raw? My sat keeps cutting in and out.

Let's Talk About..........The Natural Born Thrillers
Hawkius Maximus replied to King Kamala's topic in General Wrestling
They paired him with Piper and let Piper do all the talking. They then gave him a kick as a finisher, which they'd programed him to not hit with any force. Died a miserable death. -
Let's Talk About..........The Natural Born Thrillers
Hawkius Maximus replied to King Kamala's topic in General Wrestling
The Natural Born Thrillers were a solid group. Not much can really be said. Out of all of them, Sean O'Haire had the most potential. He was capable of flying moves, power moves, and decent looking strikes. Had he went to Japan or somewhere after WCW was bought out, he could be a force right now. Everything I've ever read, was WWE was in particular harsh with O'Haire out of all them, because it was known quite well that Eric Bischoff and WCW management considered him their guy. He was going to be the guy they pushed as hard as possible to try and take down WWE. That could not be forgiven. They buried him during the invasion, and then put him down in devs until he was broken of his style and his agility then brought up. He was not the same man, and they positioned him so he'd fail. The other guys didn't have that luggage, but on their own none of them were very good. Jindrak had exceptional agility and power like O'Haire, but lacked the intensity. Palumbo was just a big generic guy. Shawn Stasiak wasn't going to do anything in WCW, let alone WWE, and Mike Saunders was too small to get anywhere in WWE where as in WCW that wasn't so much a handicap. Reno was a complete non-factor. It's funny, that out of all of them, it's Mark Jindrak that's became someone. His agility (Which WWE tried to break him of) and his power have been a huge hit in Mexico as Marco Corelone. Free of WWE and of the "WWE style", Jindrak lets it all go in the ring down there. Unlike O'Haire, who couldn't break WWE's change in his style, Jindrak has pretty much completely reverted. He's one of the biggest names, and draws in Mexico, which is fucking amazing. -
Salt in the wound. Salt in the wound. I really don't get how Seattle just let Brown go. Unless there was some type of rule from him being Franchise Tag'd that I'm unaware of from last year. How could you just let such a major play walk away? It just...BOGGLES my mind considering that just last year they Franchised him to make sure he didn't go anywhere.
-
Seattle already lost Josh Brown. Brown was responsible for at the very least half of Seattle's wins the last few seasons with his kicks. Their already fucked.

The Dirt Sheet with Miz & Morrison is some funny shit. I've never been a huge fan of either, but that made me one.

UFC 82: Pride of A Champion
Hawkius Maximus replied to Lord of The Curry's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
I'm not going to write off Yushin Okami, myself. He's 6-1 in UFC, and his only loss was due to him not engaging for whatever reason. He strikes me as a very calm, collected, and logical person. He wrecked Evan Tanner's shit last night, which while not saying much, was still impressive. He's a long shot, but I think he has a shot at it. -
UFC 82: Pride of A Champion
Hawkius Maximus replied to Lord of The Curry's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
The only person left in UFC to challenge Silva is Okami. There's no one else. -
This is easily the biggest news to North American MMA since UFC signed with Spike. Elite XC just became a serious threat to UFC. Their already built for just TV, and they have Kimbo Slice who is becoming one of the most known names in MMA. The Elite XC shows are generally almost always well put together and fun to watch as well. Kimbo Slice vs. some known heavyweight on the first CBS broadcast would probably do a pretty massive rating for a prime time MMA special. CBS wouldn't be getting into this without a plan to push it as well. UFC should be very, very worried.

MMA Comments that Don't Warrant a Thread
Hawkius Maximus replied to RavishingRickRudo's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
Sapp looked the worst I've ever seen him. Which considering he never fucking trains says something. It didn't look like he's trained at all for a long time...Or he was hurt going in. He barely threw any punches which for Sapp is a little odd and just kept trying to grab onto Nortje. Absolutely terrible performence. Usually Sapp at the very least tries to throw. Here he more or less just bullrushed and allowed himself to be hit and then curled up in a ball when he was. Strikeforce was a long, and VERY boring fightcard. Nearly everyone was a local, and even though I'm from this area, I couldn't have given two fucks about 95% of the fights. After that show, there's something to be said for only airing five/six fights a show. There were like...EIGHT fights aired, and many had decisions. Just...horrible. -
Can't claim that was a dive.

Kongo's really the fight that hurt Mirko...With Gonzaga, you could argue that if Mirko even thought a high kick was within the realm of possibility, he wouldn't have gotten nailed. That's taking out of account how easily Gonzaga got Mirko down earlier in the fight though. There's no excuse for the Kongo loss though. He should have beat Kongo within an inch of his life.

Age of the Fall makes no sense to me. For one, their "rebelling" but they haven't told us WHY their rebelling. Considering we're paying ten bucks a pop here, a little explanation would be nice. For two, they didn't show the Briscoe hanging on Man Up which was mind boggling. Again. We're paying ten dollars a pop. On PPV. You can show it. It didn't make me go "Oh, I need to go buy the DVD now!", I instead got the feeling of "...That was some bullshit". Leaving out matches, that's fine...not showing one of the biggest moment's you've ever done even in edited form? That's not fine. They haven't even explained why the group came together. Why is Necro Butcher with them? Where the hell did Tyler Black come from (I know who he is...but why the sudden emergence in ROH), and why this sudden change of personality for Jacobs? Unless the upcoming PPV has explanations (which I doubt) then ROH has done a poor, poor job selling this angle to me, someone who doesn't live in the East Coast, and has only gotten the odd DVD before now. People like me should be the primary target of this PPV, but by excluding information and angles, and not explaining things, their alienating me as a viewer. And if they do those cutaways on the next ROH PPV, I might never buy another one. That was the most annoying and nonsensical thing I have ever seen, and that's saying A LOT. They were confusing. Jarring. Un-nerving, and most importantly, made no fucking sense to what was going on. Not fun.

I just watched 27 episodes of Death Note in two days after getting a torrent. Usually, when I splurge like that, I mentally short...but I don't know. When I started watching Death Note, it was on a whim after I accidently downloaded one of the songs from the OST. Ep 1 was interesting, so I kept going. That show...jesus. I'm considering writing up a full review just to get it off my chest. And reading that just made it fucking WORSE. I don't feel sad, or upset that the show is over, I feel like...I've been scared. It's the most disturbing feeling I've ever felt regarding Anime.

He'll be going to neither. He'll be going to DREAMS, the joint venture that came out of Yarrenoka. It basically means he's going back to PRIDE. This is really best for everyone involved. Even if Mirko started racking off wins in UFC, he'd be damaged goods and likely have to take a pay cut. In Japan? He won't have to take any kind of pay cut. Mirko could never win another fight in his career, and he'll always be a star to the Japanese. In the end, Mirko's UFC stay was a disapointment, but going 1-2 isn't the most godawful thing in history. It's just coming off one of the greatest years he's ever had, it looks much worse by comparison. There's still plenty of freelancer heavyweights Mirko can fight in DREAMS to rebuild, or call it a career with.

I just like "Look up here. Look up here." *Click* "My name's Jerry." *BOOM*

Trevor Moore has to be the center of the show since the others vary from good to bad. He's the only consistant one in the cast. It also helps that I believe he created the group. I think this: is one of hte best skit's they've ever done.

Yes, and I've seen him live many times and stand by my opinion. You can disagree with it if you want, that's cool, but I've probably seen more of his matches than you have. *shrug* I'm taking it that you live, or have went to Japan. Doesn't really change anything. If anything, seeing things live only harms your perception of actual events. That's why most live reports either under play, or over play matches, or events. It's the situation and emotions guiding the person's reviewing ability. By being there live, you actually hamper your ability to objectively review. Anyway, we must have vastly different definitions of the word "sloppy". Sloppy is poorly executing a move that puts yourself or the other wrestlers at risk. It's only one step below a botch. I can't honestly recall any real sloppy bits in Tanahashi matches lately. Oh, there is one. G-1 Finals. He accidently misses his first attempt at the match winning victory roll against Makabe. That's about it.

If you throw Brock in against an Eddie Sanchez, then he'll win. Unless Sanchez suddenly learned how to be talented, Brock would just shoot in and beat the fuck out of him. The fact is, anyone who doesn't have a great ground game, or a superior sprawl would be in biiiig trouble with Brock even now. Mir only won because he has great Jiu Jitsu. You change that, or make him a little less good at it, and he'd have been mauled. There's probably around...40+ fighters UFC could call up tomorrow in the HW division that Brock could run through. While it's POSSIBLE he could beat a high level fighter, there's no reason to risk it. I personally think Brock would kill Tim Sylvia. Do I think they should do that? Fuck no. Just because once Brock got him down he'd kill him, doesn't mean it's a smart move. They've got Brock for atleast four more fights. Give him a lower end guy, he wins, give him a middle end guy. Build him up like a fighter should be built up. Then, if he won those two, by his third fight you could give him another high profile fight with contendership at the line. This would be a year or so down the line, which would be more then enough time for Brock to improve further. It's simply formula really. The longer you give Brock people he can beat, or will challenge him, the longer he has to train. The longer he trains, the better he'll become. If you keep throwing Brock against names, then you'll have a Dong Sik Yoon. He ONLY fought top guys in PRIDE (with the exception of Takimoto, I suppose) but in the last year has rattled off three impressive submission victories in K-1. Problem is, his record is 3-4. Not that good. Brock would be exactly the same if UFC rushed him, with the possibility of him winning the odd major fight. It's better to take your time, give Brock fights he can win, and see where it goes.

If UFC were smart, they'd give Mir the next title shot. He'd probably be slaughtered, but Nog has a talent in making people look good in route to them losing, and Mir is coming off a super high profile win. It makes good business sense. Plus, it's a 100% fresh match up. WHOSE JIU-JITSU REIGNS SUPREME?!? and all that.

Tanahashi sloppy? You have seen Tanahashi from this year, right? Tanahashi has matured into arguably the best heavyweight worker in all of Japan. Nakamura's not even in the same league anymore due to time off and injuries. The only reason Nakamura's IWGP champion is because he was supposed to get the title when Tanahashi last did. He just got injured. This is his first chance to try as champion, so NJPW are giving him that chance. Only reason.
