...Grant fumbled again.

Twenty seconds in, and Seahawks up 7-0. NOW this becomes an interesting game. I'm really interested to see how the Packers respond.

If the snow has a impact on how the Seahawks play, I'll be very surprised. Unless this gets worse, weather-wise, they play in worse conditions in Seattle. This should be a really good game.

TSM Poster Tournament 2008: Nomination Space
Hawkius Maximus replied to a topic in Poster Tournament
I seriously have no idea how the hell I got nominated last year. ...Did I nominate myself? If so, that'd be funny. -
I would have never guessed this one. Crazy.

Until a day or two ago, I completely forgot there was UFC shows this month. That's not good.

In hindsight, I shouldn't have listed the Bears...but I think the point remains atleast on that second game. Green Bay could still have went for 14-2 with that, and with how things panned out, would be the #1 seed in the NFC...but got beaten. I'm not trying to attack Green Bay, but I do think this will be a very close game.

I really don't get how Packers/Seahawks is such a foregone conclusion. Looking at the Packers record, they only really had *one* high profile game, against Dallas which I saw myself and they were beaten soundly. This will be the next biggest game they had all year. When they beat the Giants, Chargers, and Vikings (Atleast the first time), those teams were still trying to get things going. In their last eight, they only had two, maybe three big wins. The rest were against teams like the Rams, Lions, Raiders, and Bears, teams that had nothing to play for by then. The Seahawks record isn't any better, but I'm using this for reference. I think it's very likely that the Seahawks defense puts pressure on Farve, causing him to make stupid throws. If I remember right, that's EXACTLY what Dallas did before Farve's injury. This game is going to come down to the defense of Seattle against the offense of Green Bay, and after how Seattle crushed the Redskins defensively, I think they have a shot. I'm not even factoring in Seattle's offense, because that's a very small chance of becoming a factor, but if it DOES then Seattle has a fantastic shot. For the record, I think Green Bay wins, but I don't think this will be a blow out. If anything, it'll be like last year when the Bears barely managed to squeek out a win.

I thought the most enjoyable aspect were the Gladiators myself. One of my favorite aspects of AG was always the Gladiators and their personalities. Wolf was by far the best. At first I thought he was over acting, but by the end where he hit that powerbomb off the Pyramid, I realized...He may not be acting. He may KILL someone. Toa got points for his chant right before Pyramid, where the contestant just looked at him like "...Oh fuck". Titan was ALWAYS posing which made me chuckle. The women didn't really have any personalities beyond Gina's hotness. Needs work, but it was fun.

Jacksonville Jaguars @ New England Patriots San Diego Chargers @ Indianapolis Colts New York Giants @ Dallas Cowboys Seattle Seahawks @ Green Bay Packers Patriots and Colts to me are no-brainers, although I think the Jaguars will come closer to winning. I was initially going to pick the Giants, but the Cowboys should be getting back Owens. I think that one will be close though, either way. I'm siding with the Seahawks out of loyalty, but also because I think they have a strong chance. I think it'll be a damn hard game either way it goes though.

It would appear so, yes.

Things seem to be not going so well for the Chargers right now.

The reason that some people (myself included) think that Seattle has a shot against Green Bay is pretty simple. Outside of a few places, Seattle plays in CONSISTANTLY some of the worst weather in the entire league. If you haven't been to the Seattle area, or don't watch every week, you can't really comprehend the constant storming that's been going on here the entire fall and winter season. That's actually one of Seattle's main strengths. They train in shitty weather so they'll have an advantage in the weather. The worse it is in Green Bay, the better the Seahawks should play. It's been cold here, raining, windy, near hurricane like weather atleast once, and the Seahawks TRAIN in that. On top of that, the defense just had another fantastic game. They litterally ate the Redskins alive for 95% of the game. You can say the Redskins aren't that good, but I don't know how you can discount that fucking humbling for almost the entire game. That being said, Green Bay's the significant favorite because the offense for the Seahawks hasn't been there for some time. But Seattle has a shot against Green Bay.

I could...but who wants to actually learn anything? And I can see that...but I think Hasselbeck does make some crap decisions at times. It's probably a combination of the two and some form of miscommunication at times.
-
That and constant injuries. The media would want you to believe that Seahawks have lived off Shaun since 2005, but that's really not the case. Alexander's been almost a non-factor since the 2005 Playoffs when he went out with a concussion. That's when the offense turned into a Hasselbeck-based offense and it really hasn't changed since. Thats why when Hasselbeck plays poorly, the entire offense collapses. It's been that way for awhile now. I was half right on the Seahawk's victory...It did all depend on if the Seahawk's showed up in the correct form to play. I was only wrong on how great the defense would be. So even when the offense fell apart, the defense kept the game alive. I really don't get what's up with Hasselbeck...He's been playing like this since his knee injury last year. I guess it's kind of a Farve mentality, where he feels he HAS to make the play at all times. Problem is, when he's having an off day, this happens. Luckily they were at home, and the defense picked up the slack.

I'd rather the Seahawk's got to play Dallas given how they've been playing as of late. That's a winnable game. Green Bay? Bit tougher. On the brightside, the Seahawk's are great in poor weather so that won't play much of a factor.

This is alot like last year's game with Dallas...Weird shit. Nothing that matches Romo's mental breakdown though, but still.

What makes Taguchi jobbing even stupidier, is he's getting a IWGP Jr. title shot. So what the fuck was the point in his doing the job in that match? None. The more I look at this show, the more the booking is just stupid. -
...If I knew Senaca Wallace wasn't such a shitty player, I'd say to put him in right now.
-
I kinda figured this would happen...Maybe not whateverthefuckthatplaywas, but I figured given how hard the defense was playing that they'd burn out. The offense has been fucking HORRIBLE for the majority of the game, and the defense were doing everything they could to keep them in the game. Now it's 4th quarter, the offense is still HORRIBLE, and the defense is tired. So now shit that wasn't working earlier, is working on the defense.
-
... ... what...the fuck was that?
-
...Well...this is turning out well, now. I don't know what the fuck is up with Hasselbeck. He's had games like this before this season...but he's usually shitty the entire game when he's like this, and not, ya know...GOOD for part of the game.

Goto losing to Muta wasn't a bad decision. It's how the match was structured. I've watched it, and they had Goto sneak attack Muta with a weapon, instantly taking the fans out of his corner and then got his ass beat. NJPW doesn't get Goto, which doesn't really surprise me. They were ONTO something with Goto. When he returned, he was put into positions against Tanahashi and Tenzan where he wasn't the dominate guy, and instead kept making comebacks. In both matches he was the underdog, but he wouldn't give up and kept fighting. The fans took to him amazingly fast. He was being protected, he wasn't jobbing, and he kept having firey comebacks in matches. The fans BELIEVED in Goto. The fact that they wanted him to beat Tanahashi for the title like they did was amazing. annnd then because it's NJPW, they fucked it up. Goto's been losing falls, the booking of his matches have changed, and he's left being a guy who's not really ready for the role they want him to be. Every match I've seen since the Tanahashi MOTY candidate, the fans don't care. Worse then losing to Muta, was the fact that about two weeks before they jobbed Goto to Chono in a tag. FOR NO REASON. Direct pinfall loses matter in Japan, like they do in Mexico. That loss made no sense, whatsoever, did nothing for anyone and furthered nothing. They just did it because they could. NJPW in a nutshell. They've ruined what should have been a sure thing. Don't even get me started on Makabe jobbing directly to 3-D...that one makes absolutely no sense since his partner is TORU YANO, one of the worst wrestlers in ANY of the big promotions. Taguchi jobbing in the big interpromotional match was idiotic too. He's JUST coming off an IWGP title reign.
