Hmm...This question is relative, because what would go for the US wouldn't go for Japan, or Mexico...so I'm going to assume this is geared for the US. John Cena - Obvious. NOT picking Cena would be insane. There is no one that can do what John does as effectively. He's not the best worker. His character can be borderline retarded.,..but he's almost a perfect face. Fantastic selling, good offense, charisma, and a knowlege of when to make the comeback. While he's not the best worker alive, he is for all intents and purposes this generation's Sting and if marketed and used that, that kind of character can make allllot of money. Togi Makabe - I'm sure US/WWE fans are asking "Who?". Makabe is a worker in New Japan who is so brilliant in his simplicity. Simply put: Makabe hurts people bad. And enjoys it. Makabe has molded himself after the old crazy gaijins like Stan Hansen and Bruiser Brody. His offense isn't spectacular, but he has some insane heel charisma, and he makes just about everyone he faces bleed. He could be a very effective semi-top heel with his gimmick and style. A smart, but sadistic EVIL JAPANESE MAN~! Chris Benoit - This is much like Cena, in that it's pretty simple. Benoit is the perfect wrestler to bring along newer talent (See what he's done with MVP. And Booker way back when. And Orton. And Otani in NJPW, and so on). On top of that, Benoit has so much credibility that you could plunk him into a main event program and no one will mind or think about it twice. That kind of versatility is hard to come by. London & Kendrick - The center piece of a revolving tag division. London and Kendrick, despite never being focused on SD much, were almost consistantly able to draw heat from the crowds. Simple reason: The formula works. Two high energy, attractive babyfaces versus the vicious heels. It never NOT works when used right, and L&K are the 2000's adaptation. You could make so much money with them if focused on, and were against a team of near equal skill. On the bubble: Bryan Danielson Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch Colt Cabana CM Punk Minoru Tanaka Mistico El Hijo del Perro Aguayo El Hijo del Santo and others.

Draft Predictions or who would you liked to see moved?
Hawkius Maximus replied to Scroby's topic in The WWE Folder
I'm absolutely sure Punk goes to SD or RAW. It depends on their mindset. Either they'll move him to SD because the show desperately needs him, or they'll put Punk on the "A Show" to build him up. Punk has nowhere to go, and nothing to do on ECW. On top of that, Vince likes him. He's going to get some focus after the Draft. Benoit goes to RAW. He should have never been sent to SD in the first place, as his career went completely downhill after the last draft. Benoit goes back to RAW and becomes an uppermidcarder to main eventer thanks to Hunter. Kennedy to RAW has been rumored, and I wouldn't be surprised. Same with Rey. ECW gets next to no-one in the draft. I'd imagine Burke or Cor Von get sent to SD or RAW. Depends. Brown has been getting some nice in-match reactions thanks to the Pounce. They've had intentions on Brown since they signed him, but he's only starting to get reactions. He's building the same "anticipation" for the Pounce that he had in TNA. People WANT to see it. It's a situation where the finisher is getting the worker over, and not vice versa. Thorne and Striker are dead in the water, and will stay on ECW. I'd say ECW or SD gets Khali. They've built up the seperating of teams too much for it not to happen. I suspect the team that gets broken up will be Regal and Taylor. I don't see them breaking up London & Kendrick, and the Hardy's are pretty much tri-brand anyway. Maybe WGTT, but that wouldn't serve much purpose. Basically, look for SD to get a guy or two worth note. ECW to get raped, and RAW to get a good amount of new top guys. -
Lashley or Punk are leaving ECW in the Draft. I'm fairly certain about that. Their both fighting for the same spot and since Lashley's been "teh guy", I'm willing to bet Punk is the one leaving. There's nothing for him on ECW. He'll never get the title with Lashley ahead of him. But the question is...where the fuck does he go? I could see them making a big deal over Punk leaving, but what show would he end up on... If I had to guess, I'd say Punk ends up on SD. There's a huge gap there that he could fill rather easily with Kennedy, Rey & UT gone. Batista/Edge is done as a program, so Punk could slip right in there and feud with Edge. Edge would be a perfect person to help Punk get to the next level. It depends...but I'd be really shocked if Punk remains on ECW after next week.

Two things I really liked about this match: Khali was far stronger then Umaga. He wasn't really having a problem with Umaga...but the difference is, Khali's just a big guy. Umaga keeps coming back, and he kept doing this here. Even after the finish, Umaga was running around PO'd. It sets them apart when illustrated. Khali can beat on Umaga...but just like Cena couldn't do, it 's nearly impossible to keep Umaga down. The other part was Cena was just there. He wasn't superman. He wasn't beating on them both. In fact, he got his ass KICKED until they began to beat on each other. Everytime Cena's come against Umaga or Khali, he's mostly gotten his ass kicked. This was a continuation. I personally think their going to start phasing out Khali. I think they realize they've gotten the best they could out of him. He's either going to move to SD or ECW, or job to Umaga in a feud. Umaga is FAR more versatile as a worker, which I think they understand. That's why Khali jobbed here. He's going Bye Bye. Umaga will be staying around I'd be willing to bet.

EliteXC to run MMA in USA in front of 92K fans

I like Choi, but common! ...although that picture is awesome. -

Hawkius Maximus replied to Bruiser_Brody_'s topic in Mixed Martial Arts
I fail to see why. Brock took down an OLYMPIC JUDO SILVER MEDALIST with ease, controlled him on the mat, and beat him to submission. Everyone looks at the guy's record, and that's BS. While he isn't a great fighter, he has credentials that rival or surpass Brock's. And Brock MURDERED HIM. If you honestly think Brock would have struggled to take Choi down, then I dunno what to tell you. Choi has no grappling experience to my knowlege. Would have been the same thing, but quicker. Choi's only hope would be KOing Brock, and given how fast Brock shooting in, I don't think he would have had a chance. -

This show is so fucking fun to watch collapse. I mean...this has been a constant source of amusement for me. I had no interest in the show to begin with outside of Brock, and to read about all these issues...Hilarious in it's own way. -
I admit when I am wrong, and I was wrong. I did not see that happening, at all.

Your opinion is worthless if you think Shogun actually knocked out Rampage. ...Whazzat? He only barraged Rampage with fifty thousand fricken knees in the corner until Rampage couldn't STAND anymore. If that hadn't been stopped, Rampage would have been knocked out exactly how he he was against Silva. So I suppose I should have put "TKO", but that was pretty much as close to a KO as you're going to fucking get with a ref stop. Inless you honestly don't think Rampage got his ass kicked that night, if so...I dunno what to tell you.
-
It really depends on how Rampage fights. If he tries to technically box Liddell, he's going to get smashed. If he relies on his power, speed, boxing ability and his chin (Which is actually DAMNED strong despite being KO'd by both Silva and Shogun. They had to work for that) to overwhelm Liddell to set up the slam, then he's got a chance. He has to use almost the same strategy as their first fight, because Liddell hasn't fought anyone since whose used it. It really depends on HOW Rampage fights. If he fights like he did against Eastman, he's going to get KO'd. I'm predicting Chuck in about Round 3 by TKO or KO. None of the results will really shock me though.

That was some of the stupidest shit I've ever seen. Although, on points, Noah was whooping Marlon's ass with all those sub attempts. I think had they went indefinately, he woulda choked or broken something of Marlon. Those were some REALLY nice subs he was throwing on, he just doesn't have the experience to keep them locked on if he's being slammed like that. A better BJJ fighter would have likely broken his arm, AND choked him out. And if it was like...Arona, he might have punched him while he laid unconscious, just because he could.

Just imagine a show with the GHC, ROH and NWA World Titles defended on the same show. It's very much possible if Danielson or even Albright takes the title. The NWA would be smart to take this opportunity to establish a relationship with Ring of Honor. Get the NWA title on a RoH pay-per-view, that'll help both companies in the casual fan's eyes. Totally disagree. In the US, the NWA title has to remain a top title. You could not realistically have the ROH title, NWA title and maybe the GHC title (Could be a DG belt if DG remains in the triangle) on one show without at the very least ONE of the titles coming out looking second rate. If the NWA were to work with ROH, the deal would most likely be that any NWA title defense would have to be the main event, which would be a smart move. If Gabe could keep two world titles strong at the same time, then he should do it by all means...but he should NOT sacrifice his title or the NWA title's meaning for the sake of the other. The only way I could ever see all three titles being defended on the same show would be if it was in Japan. Multiple reasons, the biggest being that NOAH wouldn't fuck around. The GHC title would be the main, followed by the NWA title, then the ROH title, which would be prime for everyone. The GHC is easily right behind the Triple Crown and IWGP as the most important title in Japanese Pro-Wrestling, the NWA name is still HIGHLY regarded in Japan and the fans would eat up a defense, and ROH would get their name further thrown into the Japan mix by being put in the mix of a huge ass show which would raise the title's values in Japan, which is a market ROH wants to break into due to the fundamental similiarities between their product and the market. Anyway, that's off topic. The only person who should win this championship tournament is Danielson. Anyone else is a mistake, and won't work like they want. They want a champion who can rebuild the image of the title and Danielson is the man for the job. For Danielson himself, the title would boost him almost everywhere. If he were to be NWA World Champion, I could see NOAH giving him a BIG push to the uppercards which would do wonders for Danielson. NOAH already rates him highly and respects him, the NWA title could completely push him to the main events, which would mean he'd be doing main events in Budokan shows. Major step up for Mr. Am-Drag.

I absolutely love the NWA's presentation. Old school feel, without feeling outdated. Don't be surprised to see Devitt atleast make the second round. He's considered an NJPW affiliated worker now, so NJPW will probably take some interest in this tournament. NJPW don't play too well with others either. I think Danielson is the easy pick for this, which would be the best move. I think Danielson would take pride in being the champion, and with his profile around the world he'd give the title back some credibility.

I saw that posted on another forum. Ladder is my new favourite wrestler, and should be yours too. LADDER IS GOD. Broom could take it. It might be me, but I really don't get it. I didn't laugh once at this. It really wasn't very good. Ignoring the backstory (That the Ladder was MIKAMI's, yet became champion on his own and MIKAMI can't BEAT it), if you saw the payoff to that match and didn't laugh then I dunno what to tell you, other then to stay the hell away from DDT, because if you don't "get" Ladder, you won't get DDT in the slightest. There is one wrestler who can easily beat Ladder though...and his name is... EL HIJO DEL LADDER~!

Rie Komiya is incredibly hot. I'd also say Ayako Miyake is as incredible as Makoto Nagano. I'd also like to add that I am fully convinced that Makoto Nagano IS a ninja. The Ship thing is just a cover up for his actions assassinating all those that oppose his bosses.

Much like at NYR, tonight, it was once again Edge who sold this the hardest. No one in WWE sells being champion like Edge does. I don't know if anyone EVER has. To him, it's everything. He'll turn on anyone. He'll do anything. As long as at the end of the day he can hold the championship, then it doesn't matter. The end justifies the means if at the end, he holds a world championship. At NYR, Edge looked like almost broke down in joy. Tonight, he began to scream "I EARNED IT! IT'S MINE!" as if he was proving that he was worthy of holding the championship. He caressed the belt, he kissed it, he stared at it in joy...JBL really put it best, "Edge is in love with being champion" Fucking fantastic.

Don't delude yourself. The people who took that cam wanted to be known for something just as much as they wanted to share with the world.

That cam might have been enjoyable had the quality not been so damn poor, and the people with the camera hadn't been the most ANNOYING PEOPLE IN THE WORLD.

I think a PPV match with Khali will be a huge test for Cena. He hasn't had a bad match in a very long time. It could be argued it's due to his opponents, but I happen to think Cena's just as good, if not better then everyone he's faced. If Cena can pull a watchable to good match out of Khali, then it will have been established that Cena can indeed walk on fucking water.
-
I could see hating that if you don't like logical storylines. When was the last time Khali ever got a title shot? None that I can recall. So...If your him, why not PUT yourself into title contention by destroying everyone in line ahead of you? Although I was hoping for Val Venis there.
-
I think their going somewhere with Umaga if that finish was any indication. Everytime he had Lashley beat, and Vince wanted in, Umaga's confusion and growing rage increased. He didn't know what the HELL was going on and it was both confusing and pissing him off, and he didn't even celebrate when they won until like...five minutes into the celebration. Their either going to build off that, or it was just another fantastic acting job by Jamal.

I know of two streams. The first you have to pay for, but is uber high quality. Too much for me to stream. The other is free, but really bad quality, to the point that the video skips. If anyone knows anything in the 150-230 KBPS stream range, lemme know.

Could a fellow Seahawk fan explain to me why the FUCK we traded Jackson to the Niners? I could maybe see getting rid of Jackson now that we got Branch, ignoring of course that we had a fantastic 1-2 punch with them considering Hasselbeck was almost a walking corpse last season due to injuries. Jackson is somewhat injury prone, but when he's healthy, he's one of the best WR's in the NFL. So we traded him...to the NINERS? A team that's made significant progress and is probably going to be our big indivision rivals, and we trade him our best WR for a draft pick? Does that make ANY SENSE? Is it me that's insane here? Are they TRYING to make the Niners the better team? They already whooped our asses twice last year, lets help them be the best team in the division! So very illogical and stupid.

The thing about Battle Royale, was even if you disregarded the social commentary of the overall storyline (I don't know why you would, since it's a good message and elevates the movie), you still had fantastic acting and a good core storyline. The film also has mulltiple layers of character ambitions and desires if you peel it back far enough, which makes it even better. No one in the Condemned could even hope to act to the level of Kitano. And no one is safe in Battle Royale. It's established relatively quickly that anyone could die at any time. That makes the action sense more dramatic, and makes every interaction more tense. I haven't seen the Condemned, but I don't see anyway it could match Battle Royale.

TNA Impact Spoilers (First Hour Spoilers now up)
Hawkius Maximus replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in TNA Wrestling
As a viewer, of that segment with Jeff/Rude/Young...I have to say I enjoyed it to an extent. But Tenay and West just SUCKED what emotion it had away. When Young hit Rude, it was a good moment, and the fans reacted...Good, feel good payoff, but as a viewer, Tenay and West just completely overwhelmed it with their shrill screaming of happiness. Tenay and West cancel each other out because they act EXACTLY THE SAME. It only got worse when they cheerleaded Jeff Jarrett, who they SHOULD still be selling as a questionable person since THAT IS THE STORYLINE, to beat up Traci. People rag on JR and Cole, but jesus fuck, they atleast GET when to let the storyline tell itself and to *SHUT UP*, and they have a partner who somewhat weighs them down in JBL and King, who react differently to things. Tenay and West are easily one of the worst broadcast teams in modern wrestling history. At one time, they were I think alright to an extent, but they've become such jokes and over-reactors to anything a face does that it kills what momentium TNA can build to a viewer. I honest to god think I'd take Mark Madden over either of them right now. /...Okay, maybe not, but I know I'd take Lord Alfred Hayes.
