Beyond Punk, it was easily the most boring fucking thing I've ever seen in my life. At several points, they just...sat down and bullshitted about stuff. It was insane. Punk was sooo ungodly bored. He'd play around with his flashlight, walk around, start calling out "ghosties". He was the only redeeming thing on the show. Poor, poor man.

The pleas have worked! For a few minutes.

That link I sent has a live feed, where you're supposed to watch and send in "OMG I SAW SOMETHING" messages.. We've just been using it for CM Punk stuff.
-
They are DELIBERATELY keeping CM off camera now. Too bad me and friends have sent messages to them saying to keep the goddamn camera on CM Punk. http://www.scifi.com/ghosthunters/live/

Is anyone watching this Ghost Hunters thing? CM Punk is making ALL KINDS of shoot comments. He's mentioned Joe, Colt Cabana, and even went as far as to make a joke about there being a "Ghost glass ceiling", along with a goofy insider face to the camera. He's also not playing on the "Ghosts are real!" thing, and just doing whateverthefuck he wants to do. If WWE is paying attention to this, the reaction will be HEELARIOUS.

Controversy Creates Cash - Eric Bischoff
Hawkius Maximus replied to Downhome's topic in The WWE Folder
You can be the best worker in the world and it doesn't mean you'll get pushed. You have to have something a bit deeper then just flat out workrate. A character, something in your work that can elevate you. Eddy, as great of a worker as he was had nothing that would work against heavyweights. Benoit worked against heavyweights due to his character, a tough no-nonsense brawling technical worker ala Arn Anderson who could hang with anyone. Eddy was just some asshole Cruiserweight, and 90% of his moves wouldn't work in WCW's world title division and wouldn't have worked in WWE had he not changed his style for them. Eddy had to have time to cultivate his character, and come up with what worked. In that way, he was alot like Bret Hart. He was decent on the microphone, if unspectacular for years until after having practiced, he got very good to great. I'm not saying Eddy wasn't good, or that Bret was awesome, I'm merely comparing the two. Their situations inwhich they evolved are very similiar. Superb wrestlers who took years to get to that level on the microphone. Eddy didn't force WWE to do anything. Since when does WWE listen to reactions from fans? If they did, Cena would have been heel way back in 2005, Matt Hardy would have been one of the top faces in the company, and Edge would be the top heel in all of the company. They don't. Eddy was pushed to the title due to his overness, yes, but he was given the ball mainly because he exceled at it, and they had no one else. Eddy was never one of Vince's "Projects" or chosen wrestlers, that's evidenced by the fact that the title went to JBL when he had done nothing to earn it. Eddy was cracking under the pressure, and instead of working around it, Vince simply took the title away and put it on one of his "projects". The fact that Eddy got a decent reign with the title is purely Eddy, but it's not like Vince really WANTED to do that in the first place. The internet puts way too much emphsis on the wrestling aspect. Pure wrestling just doesn't draw 95% of the time. Every great draw has had something beyond their working abilities to get them above that. For years Eddy didn't have that. It was only until the last few years of his life did he put all the peices together. That's not an insult on Eddy, it's simply the truth. -
Is it like X-Men Legends, where it's usally a compound environment, and just a series of objectives that see you go back and forth like Diablo with four characters? That was my only complaint with the X-Men legends game. It could get quite tedious.

They did, but it was as a heel and in 2000, when he had begun to cool down some. Kidman, right around the time his face CW title push began was fucking RED HOT. Problem is, to push Kidman would have been going against all conventional booking wisdom, which we've still not overcame all these years later. Anyway, the point East Coast is making, and what some people seem to be glossing over, is he's not looking at it hindsight. It's easy to look back at things and say "Well that was a bad idea". What he's doing, is placing himself in the roles of WCW executives, and saying that AT THE TIME, Eddie was not a top priority for a push. He wasn't. Eddy was a superb heel, but at the same time there were more people with upsides in WCW 1997-1998 then just about any fed in history. Granted, almost none of them were capitalized on, but it still holds true. A solid upper midcard, main event run for Eddie just wouldn't have ever happened. For one, he was too small, for two his style would not have meshed with anyone in the main event scene beyond Sting, Page and Goldberg who would have worked around their limitations with him, and for three he had not shown any significant microphone charisma yet. People overlook this, but Eddy wasn't a mic god. Hell, he wasn't for most of his WWE run. He was alot like Bret Hart, in that until he had ALOT of practice, he was merely adept at it. Not good enough for a push. Eddy was never even given a huge chance in WWE until it was mandatory, and had hit the roids HARD. It's not like Vince woke up and said "Eddy Guerrero will be my top star!", it was more "...Fuck Brock's leaving? Who do we got? Angle? Angle's hurt...WEGOTNOONEELSE, wait...lets put it on Guerrero for a few months!", the only reason Guerrero made it out of being a transitional champion, was because he was a great latino draw, and he tried so hard to be the champion that he mentally cracked. As for WCW...Had WCW stayed alive, they'd likely be in great shape today. They were bringing up new people, trying different things, and trying to build stars for one of the first times EVER. Mike Sanders was an amazing mic peice if nothing else, while the sky seemed the limit for Sean O'Haire, doing things that at that time, no big man had done in the national stage. He had fire, intensity, and made up for his lack of experience with awesome feats of athleticism. I've always heard it rumored that the reason Vince buried O'Haire during the Invasion, and was so quick to cut him when it didn't work out, is because he knew O'Haire was Bischoff's big hope, and had WCW stayed alive, O'Haire would have been his top guy. As such, he was viciously jobbed out. The problem with wondering "what if", is there are so many variables. If WCW was still alive, would WWE be in it's funk? Probably not. Would another fed have opened like TNA? Maybe. You can't predict what might have happened, because we can't even accurately predict what WILL happen a year from now. -
Claudio & Hero could both be excellent pickups for WWE. I don't get why TNA hasn't latched onto them either. Hero is a great speaker, both are good in the ring, and they have natural tag team chemistry. Seems like a natural fit to me. Then again, neither TNA or WWE seem to do what's logical or "natural" in the business, so who knows.

What exactly has Leena done to deserve a 'YAY SHES GONE" thread, and with this extra crap? I'm not seeing it apparently.
-
Traci is a complete failure as a manager in TNA. Why the fuck would you pick her, when she couldn't manage ANYONE before to sustained success over BOBBY HEENAN, or Sheri in kayfabe? Inless it's Roode's storyline to be a complete moron, you wouldn't. That's the problem, there is no logical reason for that decision. None. And now my viewing ends because I don't have 30 bucks to blow. Shame.
-
they have gotta work out the audio issues. It's randomly going down and up. I wouldn't mind getting the show, but this Pre-show isn't exactly saying "hey, get the show!" Edit: Bitching about Traci? Everyone knew she was. Doesn't mean it's not fucking STUPID though.
-
The gimmick in the first place is wasted on Roode. Fuck his new finisher even sucks. YAY MIDGETS!
-
Shit like this is what hurts TNA, and makes people not care. They build up Roode's manager, and common sense it'd be a big name manager to guide his career, or someone who has great mic skills who can get him over that's a fresh face. So they pair him up with Tracy cause she's got big fucking breasts. Totally logical. LOGICALLY, she's already a failure as a manager, but we can ignore the past when we wanna. Long term pay off is not TNA's friend.

Seahawks post-Hasselbeck injury was depressing. They couldn't get anything going. The fans were shocked. They had nothing left. Without Matt or Shaun, they have no offensive production capabilities. If Matt's out for multiple games, then Seahawk's are fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucked.
-
Their having technical issues on the pre-show. Yay for technical issues~!
-
Jesus christ. Matt being out fucks the Seahawks so much. If that was as bad as it looked, then he's not gonna be back anytime soon. That was heart breaking.

PRIDE in USA, October 21st!
Hawkius Maximus replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
There's enough hardcore MMA fans that saw or heard about that challenge, that UFC can't just ignore it. Doesn't help that PRIDE's coming back in Feb for another show in Las Vegas where Silva will defend the MW title, hence Silva saying "In Feb". If it doesn't happen then, then PRIDE will run UFC down so badly, once again on live PPV. There's a big difference between snide comments, and flat out saying "HEY! YOU'RE A FUCKING PUSSY!" on live PPV. I dunno WHAT UFC does now. Ignoring it may make them look weak, but it might be the best course of action right now. After last nights show, I don't think it'll be long before PRIDE gets a significant TV deal in America. MMA is hot right now, and PRIDE is the only promotion in the world that rivals, or beats UFC. Problem is, I have NO faith in the American office whatsoever. The FSN show is so bad. The Japanese office would have to step in and make it not fucking suck. The Fedor/Coleman stuff from last night was likely 100% the Japanese office, and it had the best storyline of the night. Go figure. Hearing Dana's reaction probably woulda been fucking awesome though. -
PRIDE in USA, October 21st!
Hawkius Maximus replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
Pretty decent show. Nothing 100% blow away, but good stuff. PRIDE landed a fucking right hook by having Silva come out and call out Chuck. I dunno how UFC counters it. They can't act like it didn't happen, they can't make excuses, and they can't have Liddell call Silva out. All those options will make UFC and Liddell look weak/scared. They have to pretty much accept PRIDE's terms now to save face. Beyond that, the storyline of the main event was dramatic. And kudos to Fedor for carrying Coleman to something halfway decent. It's pretty obvious he could have killed Coleman dead any time he wanted, but for the sake of Coleman's image (Their good friends) and for the storyline, Fedor carried Coleman along to a second rounder. Too bad Fedor's defination of carrying someone is making them look like someone took a fucking axe to their face. The only thing was the part with the kids was exploitive, but if they were going for a "rocky" type feel, then they succeeded. The other major issue was there were alllloot of empty seats, and the commentary fucking blew tonight. One of the worst I've heard from PRIDE in sometime. That third dude offered NOTHING at all. -
The symbolism of Locke's "Hunt" to save Ecko was awesome. Locke's first major thing in Lost, was when he began hunting. Everything for his character was based around that, and his beliefs. In S2, he lost almost all of it. Now he's regained his "hunting" sense, by successfully saving Ecko. His character arc is completed, he's returned to who he was, and on top of that he seems to be communicating with the island again. The sweat lodge, and the Ecko instances suggest that he's refound his faith and the Island is "guiding" him once again. Locke's gonna fuuuck shit uuuuupp.

I already miss her input on things around here. Never have gotten all the hate.

Um.........Holy fuck?

Some people don't seem to get the Sting thing. Him not being on TV for the last month or two is for storyline purposes. His career is on the line, everything he's worked for. So they gave him time off, he's gonna update his look, comeback prepared and kill Jeff dead for the title. Then Sting's gonna transition it probably to Joe it looks like. Whamo, Bammo, TNA should have it's first super star. The returning victorious face over the villianous heel that tried to run him off. It's booking 101.
-
If I wasn't getting this show for free, I wouldn't give a goddamn about it. Outside of the main event, and seeing Kongo, there is NO selling point to this show.

If you want TEW, I'd wait a month or two. TEW 2k7 is coming up in Nov/Jan and has all kinds of shit from EWR to 2k4. Internet's back, alot of little quirks are back, along with a shitload of new features.
