...I'd vote for him if he ran for President after reading all this. We needs us some people who aren't afraid to say it like it is.
-
I liked it alot. I'll watch against next week.
-
Why wouldn't you wanna vote for him? The man talks from his heart! He's just doing what he thinks is best. Plus, that slogan owns. "Why the hell not?"

Having watched an NWA show last night. The Steiner Brothers wore white boots. And their arguably in the top five greatest tag teams ever,

I wanna point out that if anyone with "Hawk" in their name takes the axe, I'm the one with 52 and have had this name for years. ...People seem to get the two Hawk's confused, consider this a pre-emptive measure~! I DONT WANNA DIE

So they'd charge people who host sites like Youtube, but not the consumer? How would they get the money to host sites like Youtube then? It still seems really stupid.

Plus, there's the fact that Angle could make more off one fight then he could an entire year of WWE. Angle will get a GIGANTIC salary for the fight, and a significant portion of the gate or buyrate for it. Against Brock Lesnar in K-1, or Ken Shamrock in UFC, it'll be massive business, making Angle a very rich man win or lose. If he won his first fight, bam, title fight and even BIGGER money. From a financial standpoint, it's a great move.

The Cade and Murdoch thing has to be one of the more bizarre situations on WWE TV right now. They went from Heat duty to beating the fuck out of Hunter one week (Sure they had Shane, but they did most of the work and left him bleeding like fuck), and being made to actually look fairly STRONG against the three biggest stars in the entire promotion the next. I wonder if they think they can get mileage out of Cade & Murdoch versus Hunter & Shawn. That's the only thing I can think of given that they weren't buried. I say go for it. I mean, what can it hurt? Cade & Murdoch are a good team, a perfect case of two people being given time to work together and figure out who they are as a team. Their double lariat onto Shawn was flat out badass, along with the inverted Atomic Drop > Sliding boot kick double team. And what the hell happened to Lance Cade? When did he get so damn cool? He almost looks like a Steve Williams type guy, not super cut but you can tell he's built like fuck, and he's barrell chested. Not to mention the jet black hair, and the pissed off texan route. Murdoch gets bonus points for going after what appeared to be a camera man though. If WWE ever fires these two, they need to go to Japan. They could make a crapload of money off their sterotyped crazy Texan gimmicks. Worked for Hansen for years.

I can't say I get the idea behind it. You have DSL or Cable. It rocks. You can do so much with it. Suddenly, their CHARGING you extra for certain extras within that service, rendering what you are paying for meaningless since there are extra charges included that used to be free. What ends up happening? Broadband Internet fucking dies because no one's going to pay the somewhat big net charges, THEN pay an extra fucking dollar for every video they want to send to someone. That is sheer madness.

What the hell happened to Robbie Lawler anyway? It seems like after Diaz knocked him the fuck out, he just...died inside or something. -

There is a GIGANTIC difference between pure Amateur Wrestling and today's MMA. Angle would have probably decimated people in 1996 on that alone provided his neck wasn't too big of an issue, but this is 2006. MMA has evolved. Not to mention Angle's incredible body breakdown. Any middle of the road Shoot fighter will beat Angle at this stage of his life. Put Angle against someone with either good submission skills or striking, and he'd be done really quickly. Rashad Evans is the only comparison to Angle right now in mainstream MMA, a raw highly skilled Amateur wrestler who has little to no skills in anything else. The difference is, Rashad is in great condition, never suffered half the injuries Angle has and I believe he's naturally stronger then Angle. Angle doesn't have half of the tools Rashad has, which is pretty sad considering Rashad is about as one dimensional as they come. And I'm not even going to dignify that "Wrestling has no credibility so MMA can't hurt it!" thing with a response. So wrong on so many levels. -
It's almost a 90% lock Angle will do MMA now. Read the WO updates that HTQ posts. It talks about how that's what Angle wants to try.

I've got a half decent PC, along with a DSL connection. I'm pretty sure I could handle a web camera if I went that route.

I wanna sell shit on Ebay. The easiest way to get something sold on Ebay is to have a picture. Hence the post. I'm in the market for a digitial camera, the main requirement of such is that it hook up to my PC to allow me to simply take said photos off said device. Any and all features beyond that and half decent looking photos is completely secondary and quite meaningless in the grand scheme of things. Right now, I'm looking over Amazon.com, and found one that caught my eye http://www.amazon.com/Kodak-EasyShare-C310...p;s=electronics It LOOKS half decent, and it has the required USB hookup. If I'm going to do this, I want to find a camera that has enough bang for the buck. Do you think the camera above quaifies for it's price, or do you have any other reccomendations? I'm looking to spend less then a hundred if possible. Fifty would be nice, but I highly doubt that will work out well.

If I were UFC, I'd sign Angle, let him train for a bit and rest up, then do Angle/Shamrock in June or something. Talk about big business. That'd do an awesome buyrate and gate. Angle would atleast have a SHOT against Ken Shamrock. -
I wish I could make 51,000 in my first week on ebay

Ken/Ortiz is the perfect example of what I'm arguing in the WWE folder over. UFC basicly jacked Pro-Wrestling storytelling for this feud, and it's the biggest rivalry in all of MMA right now. Ken, Tito, and Dana are all laughing their asses to the bank. -

Alot of online fans seem to think that everyone knows wrestling is fake, or is worked, or that most wrestlers AREN"T super tough bastards. You are wrong. We are *NOT* the majority of wrestling fans. The majority are little kids/people who still believe to some exist that wrestling is real. Not so much the outcomes anymore, but that wrestlers are tough bastards who can handle themselves in a fight. Kurt Angle has been pushed from day one as a legitimate athlete who can whoop the ass out of anyone, and his recent shooter push from the last few years pushes this even further. 90% of wrestling fans are not smart, or even educated to the sport. They believe Angle is everything WWE had billed him as in a worked environment. They'll hear "Angle's doing that Ultimate Fighting stuff...I wanna see!". I know this because I LIVE with Marks, and my entire extended family are like this. They exist, and they are the majority. Angle does MMA, the casual WWE fans will watch, the hardcore wrestling fans will watch, and fans from around the world will watch due to Angle's credentials. He is considered not just here, but around the world as one of the best wrestlers period DUE to his legitimate abilities and skills. If Angle does MMA, and dies by KO or submission in less then a minute then all it does is definatively say "Hey, wrestling is fake! Look at what happened to Angle!". Bam, world wide business goes down. Bam, MMA gets a way bigger market share due to what's happened and it being considered the cool/real product. UFC already is cutting a chunk out of WWE"s PPV revenue, it'll be worse if this happens. I've never claimed it'll be as bad as it was in Japan, because PRIDE and MMA pretty much killed Pro-Wrestling as it was, but it's STILL going to damage Pro-Wrestling in the states. It may not matter to you, the smart fan, but watching a multiple time WWE world champion get his ass kicked by a middle of the road shoot fighter is going to damage every aspect of WWE's product, let alone Angle's status to the casual fan. God forbid they do Angle/Puder, because Puder will tap him fairly easily and then the MMA fed will run an angle where WWE was too scared of legitimate abilities. WWE can't say it's false, because it IS true. If UFC puts this together, they have more then enough money and coverage to bury the shit out of WWE on TV. -
A nice camera would be good to have, but primarily I just want to take photos of shit I wanna sell on Ebay. I have some rare games that I could probably get a good amount for, let alone consoles and old games, not to mention over fifteen GC games just sitting here ready to go. I could make a good chunk of change. The issue isn't so much that I wouldn't dislike having extra features, but that I mainly want it for convience. I don't want to have to go down to a photo place and get film developed, wait, then go pick it up, then have to scan it. I just want that shit on my PC immediately. Plus, I'm on a tight budget, so 200+ is out of the range. Ebay's a good idea though. I love Ebay. So many great deals...

MMA and Wrestling primarily share the same market place. UFC doesn't capitialize on it like they should, but as new promotions spring up there will be feds that do. PRIDE is living proof that MMA *CAN* seriously hurt Pro-Wrestling. All it takes is fancy lighting, storylines, and one major pro-wrestler to give it the rub it needs. You basically steal all the good elements of wrestling, but leave the bad. Kurt Angle = Nobuhiko Takada. A Pro-Wrestler with some (Or in Angles case, alot) of legitimate skill, whose been pushed as a god in Wrestling because of it. Angle doing a MMA PPV is HORRIBLE for Pro-Wrestling, and no one in the business understands the ramifications. Angle's going to be thrown to the wolves, and UFC and MMA in general will gain the benefit as he gets squashed on live PPV in front of record breaking buyrates. -
I can't figure what's up with Hasselbeck and Alexander today. Matt came out great, with pinpoint passes and then...something just started going wrong. Shaun hasn't been able to get anything going all day either. If it wasn't for the Seahawk's badass defense, they'd be FUCKED right now. Oh and the Cardnials playing like morons.
-
If Angle signed with HUSTLE, he'd have a deal with DSE, which owns PRIDE FC. If that happened, Angle would almost certainly do MMA for PRIDE. It's not like HUSTLE's some completely different product. Many HUSTLE wrestlers/preformers have fought for PRIDE. Angle doing MMA is about a billion times worse then Wrestling, and it looks like that's where he's gonna go.

Ultimate Fighter Season 4 the thread...
Hawkius Maximus replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
Shonie's been the only real good thing this season. Beyond him, it's just lacking the personalities. Plus, I think the team concept is just silly, espcially with no team coaches this time around. Make everyone train together all the while setting up a system where one person gets to select their opponent. Every man for themselves mentality would up the paranoia and make this all more exciting, while making people train harder since they'd have NO idea when they'd be fighting. -

I find that fight really underwhelming. It really seems like because of no time-limit, neither man was really willing to totally go at it, instead they pretty much just changed positions, holds and stuff for god knows how long, until Saku finally got animated near the end. With a time limit, there's no telling how hard they would have went at it. It would have made a shitload better fight though. Nothing like being in the same position for five minutes with no activity because there's no ref breaks, rouds, or time limits. You can put it on fast forward and not miss really anything until the last five minutes really. I consider it pretty heavily over-rated. For people who like grappling primarily, they might love it...but shit, I like SOME activity and maybe a punch or two. -

I have the final. I wouldn't recommend it. It's historic, sure, but that doesn't change the fact that PRIDE events back then were hideously bloated. It's a major show, but it also tops in at 6.5 hours unedited Japanese footage. That's a loooong show.
