I fully support Perro Aguayo. If I was in TNA, he'd be THEE Mexican wrestler I'd aim for. Perro Aguayo, if they kept his character in tact is the greatest heel in wrestling today, bar non. His field goal ball punts are a thing of beauty. He's the most popular wrestler in Mexico right now for a reason. He's so cool you have to cheer for him. The key would be that he'd HAVE to be brought in as a heel, as a face he's a complete bore.

I dunno...Call me optimistic, but I think even if he was to lose, Diego would give BJ, GSP, and Hughes a daymn hard fight. Diego just has that extra gear that only some fighters have, he never seems to get tired, and he never seems to mentally break. Some fighters are technically strong, but not everyone has that extra gear that can keep them fighting, or the mental strength that keeps them in the fight despite horrible positions or situations. Diego has all three. Granted, I'm not saying Diego would win against them, but I think he'd take them to a fairly close judges decision, which if UFC wanted to make alot of money, could be slightly skewered to Diego.

Ultimate Fighter Season 4 the thread...
Hawkius Maximus replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
Carter made this episode baaaadass. His storyline was made even better with the blossoming friendship with Serra. Serra's an awesome coach. How can you hate someone who attends the initial meeting in a goddamn pimp suit? -
Personally, here's how I saw the fight Round One: Diego, 10-9 Round Two: Karo, 10-9 Round Three: Diego, 10-8 So 29-27 Diego and Karo were clooose in round one, it could have gone either way. Round two was all Karo, but not enough damage or control to make it a 10-8. The third was a complete MASSACRE of Karo by Diego. Diego smothered him at every turn, and beat the unholy bejesus out of him. Had the round not ended, Diego WOULD have finished Karo by the end, no doubt about it. 30-26 is a bit silly, but it's only a one point difference. Karo still lost regardless of that point or not. Edit: I also wanna add that the main event wasn't the only one with bad scoring. Yuki Sasaki handidly won the final round with Lister. If anything, Lister flopping to his back in slow motion like a fish should have damn near made it 10-8. Granted, Lister got some stuff, but he had no fight whatsoever.

Diego has the best fights in the UFC.
-
WHOOOOOOOOOOA That was a dramatic as shit second round.
-
Dean Lister v.s. Yuki Sasaki was a pretty interesting first round. Coulda been allloooot worse.

While Benoit didn't get the stature that a champion should get for being champion, Benoit was easily the most protected man of 2004 because of the fact that he was on Raw with Hunter, and Hunter wanted him to be strong as "his Ricky Steamboat", which basically meant that Benoit wouldn't be super strong, but protected so that he could always main event against Hunter and his group. If Benoit was on SD, he wouldn't have been protected half as much, but he probably would have been higher as a champion. That said, second he went to SD, Benoit's push was gone without Hunter to promote for him all the time.

I don't have a problem with Josh winning. For one, he's decently funny and seems to have other material despite using his "I'm Disabled" jokes alot. The few times I caught the show when Rock Star came back, when he'd bring up Gabriel for no other reason then to cut a joke and remind people of him were always funny. Like having him pull out a cell phone and remark that Gabriel kept trying to get HIM kicked out of the show. Plus, I thought the entire crop of this year's talent was really weak. Ty wasn't bad; he just felt very cookie-cutter. There was no one on the show besides Gabriel that could have probably taken on Josh and won, and he's primarily a "Holy shit I'm FAT" and "high picked voice~!" comedian with other material thrown in. And it was a feel-good moment for most people to see Josh win. Dude gets up there, he's disabled, and he mocks the living shit out of himself for it. That takes some serious balls. It's not ethnicity, or anything skin deep, or gender based. The fucking man is disabled, goes up there knowing how he looks with his arms spazzing out and then proceeds to mock himself and his condition for laughter. Balls I tells ya, Balls.

Brock Lesnar taps to Matt Hughes...
Hawkius Maximus replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
The fact that Hughes beat Brock in a play shoot isn't that surprising. Brock's been training for only a few months, if that long. Hughes has YEARS of experience. Size doesn't automatically mean you'll win. If Brock's giving himself 100% to MMA, and is training with Milletich full time, he'll be someone to watch. -
In my case, since I chose College over Work, I have a couple things for me, or against me: #1: The only jobs available here are either working in Canaries, which everyone in my family at some point has done. I refuse to do it. That or McDonalds. #2: My family is poor enough that I'm getting financial aid right now, which funds all my costs for college. They give me a thousand bucks + for extra expenses such as books, but all college tuition fees are covered 100%. #3: My knee is fucked beyond belief, so even if we had a good jobs here, I wouldn't be able to work most of them, and the jobs I can easily do I'm either not quaified for (Due to lack of college experiences, or work experience) or aren't available here. Granted, when I originally made the College over Work choice, I didn't have a busted knee, but I got it the summer after my first year, aka a year ago. In the long run, if I want to do anything with my life, I have to get out of this town. In about a year or so, I'll be done with my credits needed for the transfer to a university, and my financial aide will run out. So I'll either have to take Washington Online courses only, or move to say...Seattle.

Hope that was a joke, this folder needs Lei. We're like...the only subfolder part of this forum that has any real activity of meaning. We gotta keep it going damnit.

The timing was what got me. - In the past, Cro Cop has been 100% behind PRIDE, basicly saying he'd fight for them no matter what. - They go through the Yakuza scandal, and are completely in desperate straits. They need some huge months to get back to shape completely, and that means alot of the fighters are getting paycuts/being let go. - WFA capitalizes and sends Cro Cop an offer to fight for them for reportedly as much if not more then PRIDE gives him. - NOW Cro Cop wants more money when everyone else is getting the same amount, or he flat out wont fight for PRIDE. I dunno, I like some loyalty myself. I think Benoitrulz is right. Cro Cop has realized that in PRIDE, he'll never win the title, so isn't willing to risk as much. The other three accepted the same exact conditions to my knowlege. It just makes Cro Cop look greedy and petty. Then again, I am a PRIDE fanboy, so I'm biased.

The influcence of mixed martial arts in pro wrestling
Hawkius Maximus replied to Lord of The Curry's topic in The WWE Folder
The thing is, which this is a point I didn't get to in my sleep deprived rant, is that some MMA influence is AOK. A good punch/kick combination is nice, and doesn't get used alot. Terkay(Predator goddamnit)'s punches into that spinning back kick into a spinning backfist is a good example. It's simple, it's quick, and it's effective. Granted, all that was wiped away by his horrible armbar submission. In WWE-land, they don't seem to understand how to properly do it. They get SOME aspects, but then they give someone like Terkay a top armlock, instead of say...A triangle choke, or a Jujigatame, or a Wakigatame, or hell, a friggin kneebar. They think Angle's a shooter because he takes the guy down, mounts, and does stuff like that. He's not. Although his quick headbutt is nice. In TNA-land, Samoa Joe doesn't work "shoot"ey at all, instead he wrestles more like a mid-1990's NJPW worker. Simple kicks, submissions, and slams to pace the match, and a quick finisher combination (or simply the choke) as a finisher. That's the defination of what's been called "Strong style", not that "I chop you 50,000 times and not sell because we're BADASS!" thing that's going around in both sides of the pond. The main issue with Angle, and Predator right now, is you can't have someone go 100% "shootey" on the opponent, who then wrestles completely regularly. It Won't work. It creates a divide between what's believable (Shooter guy) and what's not (other guy). It does not mesh at all. If Terkay went half/half, he could be a big star. Beats the shit out of you with strikes, some type of huge finish such as a powerbomb, or chokeslam, then a submission while you're half dead...Basicly, Joe-ized. -
That or DSE paid out their ass. The reaction to Cro Cop maybe, possibly not fighting online was odd...It was a strongly anti-Cro Cop which was surprising, with people all over the world accusing him of stabbing PRIDE in the back, and turning his back on the fans. I doubt it was what they were expecting.

Rosey is no where neaaaaaaaar the worker Jamal is, and as KOAB said, it's the AJPW work that shows us this. Jamal went over, and did damn well, impressing the fans right off the bat with his work. Rosey's been over there since he was released, and hasn't impressed anything. Jamal hits very hard, is very agile, and very strong. There's a reason WWE brought him back, as Johnny Ace still has a few connections in Japan. They saw his work and brought him back. Jamal was the most over gaijin Puroresu has had in YEARS. Let that statement sink in, because it's kind of a hard one to understand. Jamal was the most over Gaijin since Stan fucking Hansen and Vader pretty much retired. Jamal pulled off S.H.I.T. because of Helms helping him, without Helms, that's an even worse gimmick and goes nowhere. Not that it went anywhere to begin with. Even with Helms, who at the time was a face heat magnet, Rosey never got fucking over, while Jamal is starting to be seen as one of the biggest heels in the WWE.

The influcence of mixed martial arts in pro wrestling
Hawkius Maximus replied to Lord of The Curry's topic in The WWE Folder
There is an interesting question between the correlation with Wrestling and MMA...I think very few will argue that MMA latching onto the Wrestling audience a bit by stealing the glitz and glamour, and appealing to that crowd is nothing but good for the sport, but does the same hold true for wrestling? Does latching onto MMA help Pro-Wrestling? The answer is no. Pro-Wrestling is where it's at in Japan, not because of PRIDE or K-1 stealing their fans, but instead due to the inbreed of MMA and wrestling. Anyone who says MMA has simply jacked the fans so is misguided. New Japan Pro-Wrestling is still the golden fed for the media, in that everything they do is held slightly above the other feds. Their misses are Puroresu's misses, and their successes are Puroresu's successes. You can link NJPW's current status, which has helped drag Puroresu in general down to their MMA influence. For years, Antonio Inoki held power in NJPW, and would push anyone with a real background. Kazayuki Fujita after fighting in PRIDE is the prime example. I believe he won the IWGP title THREE TIMES despite not being a good worker. Tadao Yasuda won the IWGP title after winning a shoot fight despite being god-awful. Yuji Nagata lost a shoot fight to Mirko Cro Cop and was depushed. Kendo Ka Shin beat a Gracie and was given a god push And so on, and so forth. As NJPW took a more shoot style approach, fans left. The booking was horrible, the matches suffered due to the new style. Simply put, MMA killed Shoot style off. There's no point to it anymore, and there will NEVER be another major Shoot Style fed in wrestling. You don't have to watch wrestlers act out a shoot fight. You can *SEE* a shoot fight. That's a lesson Kiyoshi Tamura and U-File learned the hard way. People don't care anymore. NJPW's an extreme example, and only now are they rebuilding themselves after all that. MMA influence has been around since the original UWF in the 80's. Hell, you can watch a Shinya Hashimoto match and see the MMA influence there, as he was pushed as the strongest man in the world, aka Antonio Inoki's old push. In the United States, it's a bit different, but it's following the same trends. The indy wrestlers see it as the new big thing, so they latch onto it much like how EVERYONE started doing the Shining Wizard, and the two big promotions see it as a somewhat useful device to use. The US Market is slowly, every so slowly repeating what the Japanese market did. As new MMA promotions show up, some being more flashy then others, it runs the same risk that Japan had. The difference is, WWE aside, the NA market is signifcantly weaker then Japan's ever has been. And so far, history shows that if the two things are promoted closely together, Pro-Wrestling loses. -
Wait...Someone said Jamal is worse then Rosey? Are you daft? Jamal is a FAR superior wrestler then Rosey is. Only reason Jamal didn't originally work in WWE was because he stiffed the unholy bejesus out of everyone. For whatever reason, they don't seem to mind it now, since he's STILL stiffing the unholy bejesus out of everyone. Umaga's something...At first, it was a joke. Then they did something smart and allowed him to murder jobbers for awhile. Some of those squashes were absolutely horriffic to watch, as Jamal just unleashed fuckin hell on them. Then he moved up to midcard, and squashed anyone he touched, giving him more credibility. Now he has enough credibility and stature to realistically fight the main stars, which shows how well they've done his push. Umaga's not going to set the world on fire, but it's there. He's also changed up how he hits the Samoan Spike, so it's almost a "Can hit anywhere" type move. He's hit it standing, he's lifted the opponent up, and last week he used a RUNNING variation. If Hunter makes Umaga look like shit, then this'll stall...but last week against Shawn, Umaga didn't look horrible. He was losing granted, but when it came down to it he beat Shawn fairly clean when he caught him with that running Samoan Spike. If Cena re-wins the title, they'll need Umaga for a program. So, since Hunter seems to be all about doing the "right thing" when he needs to lose, hopefully he does the same tonight.

Panzer Dragoon Saga http://snesorama.us/board/showthread.php?t...er+Dragoon+Saga SNESORAMA is like....the heavenly tool man. Everything can be found there. I dunno if it's supposed to be secretive, but I doubt it, I don't see any rules about it. Have fun, if the downloads work. -
I'm twenty. Only difference between us is I've got two years of Community college under my belt so far. I got my GED in 2004, then entered classes that Fall. Thanks to my shitty family income, I get financial aide that helps me go, and gives me a bit of extra cash for "essentials", heh... I don't have a job. I've never had a what you would call "real job". I've worked quite often in my life, but never an official job. Where I live, it's basicly the dead-end of the world. People are either born here and stuck for the rest of their lives, or they come here because they have no where else to go due to drugs, alcohol, or other shit including criminal backgrounds. There are no real job opportunities inless I'm willing to work at fucking Mcdonalds which I'm not willing to. I'm too picky for whatever reason. I also have a knee injury that keeps me from working heavy-duty jobs that I could easily do with my strength. Outisde of those, there are office jobs that I could easily do but aren't qualified for, and canneries, which I absolutely do not want to do. My mom's never really pressured me into things, beyond College. She basicly told me I had to either get a job, or do college when I got my GED. I chose College. I often feel like a freeloader, or worthless since I don't have a job, but there's not mcuh I can do. It's either do stuff that I honestly would hate to do and would make me absolutely miserable, or I can't work due to my knee and lack of options. I've thought about tutoring for English students, since I'm a fairly good writer and can help people understand what they have to do to get good grades. In all my english classes, I helped everyone else to the point where they got better grades then I did. Atleast I have the college to say I'm achieving something I suppose. But yeah...If you're gonna do College, try to figure out what you wanna aim for, or else you'll be in a shit situation like me with no direction or idea of where you're going. Fun times.
