The Love Hina manga is superior to the Anime by quite a wide margin. Things in the anime are left just...hanging. Not even the wedding makes the anime.

I fucking loved Irresponsible Captain Tylor. I binged on that shit, entire 26 episodes in two nights. ... Then got it again and did it again. I really don't like who he ends up with in the OAV at ALLL...so I haven't checked it out yet. I also checked out Slayers...strikes me as a female friendly more childish Lodoss War, then anything. ... Which, BTW, is such a fucking awesome series. Legend of Crystiana? ... Not so much. My first Anime that I remember noticing was Anime, was DBZ, way back in the Sayian saga. I still watch Anime on CN occasionally, but the way they screw with every friggin show has turned me off completely. The way they've completely fucked with Yu Yu Hakusho is pretty much the biggest piss off. The lack of advertisment for new episodes of IY...It's just...stupid. Anime used to be CN's big thing, but they've completely turned their backs on it. It's insulting really. Favorite series is easily Zoids: Chaotic Century / Guardian Forces. Beyond that theres Rurouni Kenshin, which might *technically* be the best Anime I've ever seen...atleast up to Kyoto. Followed by the Lodoss TV, now that I know that it's supposed to be a remake of sorts of the OAV. Makes it much easier to appreciate.

Minoru just out-heeled 90% of TNA's roster in just a few minutes. That man is a god.

The one thing I don't get about TUF, why they insist on including fighters who...shall we say...aren't that good. There is enough talent out there to put all kinds of great guys on the show, but instead they have a few really good fighters, a few medium guys, and a few cans. Just makes no sense to me, since the cans are always going to be targeted first, making the first few fights less then spectacular.

that Fisher/Stout fight was pretty damn good. Fans annoyed me with the constant USA chants, and booing Spencer for dropping his mouth peice. -

To me, I have the exactly opposite reaction to them doing Arlovski/Sylvia III so soon. To me, it screams desperation. Instead of giving them time to prepare, and fully change their skills, they are just being thrown back out there. It'll either end up like the first fight, or the second. There's just not enough time for them to change enough for my liking. -

Thats why I said if Sapp devoted himself to it. Sapp doesn't, but my statement was *IF* he did. If he wasn't whored out. If he devoted himself to it. If's a magical word. -

Heeey now, I never said he had drive for the sport, I simply said with better management he'd be a better fighter. I don't see how that's refutable when at his peak of popularity he was doing somewhere around five PA thing PER DAY. Thats not just Sapp's doing, thats also his management yanking him around for paydays. They realized that win or loss, Sapp was a cash cow, and they used that cash cow. -
Maybe since I've only ever played one commercial MMORPG (Ultima), it explains why I'm so apathetic towards them. I don't get why you'd pay twenty bucks a month when you can go get Conquer ONline, or Knights Online for free, which while being reduced forms of the same style, are still decent, and you get all the things that come with a MMORPG for free. Hell, even Guild Wars is free per month. That seems much more logical then paying enough per month for an entirely different game.

You can't really be ranked in an organization top ten until you've actually fought once. Before that first fight, regardless if it's an undercard or a main event it's all subjecture really. And damnit, I still stand by Sapp. Sapp Time~! -

I've heard it rumored for awhile that due to the Chute Box/Hammer House feud that they'll do Silva v.s. Coleman. Coleman's in the GP pretty much for sure if he can do it (aka not injured) due to beating Shogun. Silva looks like the most logical opponent. WHY PRIDE hasn't announced the fight that would probably draw the most interest yet? I have no idea. It's PRIDE. Their loveably retarded. -

Sapp gave Nogueria all kinds of problems just months into his training. With enough time (aka not one week before fight due to all kinds of insane press related shit), Sapp could have been insanely dominate. My point is, Sapp has never been allowed time to actually train before a fight without being trotted out like a show-pony for the Japanese media. His career as a fighter is all kinds of fucked because of it too. -

How in the world should Mirko have won that fight? Hunt pressed the action. Hunt controlled the pace, and the action. Mirko freaking RAN AWAY from Hunt when Hunt just walked through everything. Hunt re-exposed Mirko's flaw in fighting that he has to fix, in that he cannot fight well when the opponent pressures him. Fedor used that against him, and Hunt did aswell. If you don't let Mirko come forward, and set himself up for the KO shots, he panics now. Why that is...I don't know, but it happened in both the Fedor, and Hunt fights. Mirko hit probably the most stuff, but Hunt completely no-sold everything like he was the Terminator. Atleast Fedor stumbled, Hunt just kept coming, and more then once rocked Mirko himself. If i remember right, Hunt even started practically begging Mirko to not run away...then got pissed and charged him. I love Mirko, and so does PRIDE, but Hunt completely won that fight in just about every possible regard. Edit: I'll throw out my own comment....If Bob Sapp hadn't went to K-1, and devoted himself 100% to MMA, he'd be PRIDE Heavyweight champion, and a near unstoppable juggernaut. His training has been completely botched by K-1, and they've continually thrown him to the wolves with little time to prepare. Sapp went from someone who had near limitless potential at the start, to a washed up "kickboxer" Who didn't know how to friggin kick! -

Randleman does have the uncanny ability to suck in every major fight he's just about ever had. Belfort just plain sucks. I give the edge in plain suckiness to Belfort...but I give the spectacular ability to suck so much suck within one fight to Randleman. I vote draw. -

I figured PRIDE would sacrifice a Japanese fighter to Hunt in the first or second round. Didn't expect TK, since He and Fujita are PRIDE's only realistic shot at a Japanese winning it. Yoshida might surprise people, but he's outgunned dramatically. On the GP, I've been hearing all kinds of rumors lately. I think everyone knows about the Rulon rumor, but now theres shit going aroudn that Belfort will be in it. From what I know, it's just 100% rumor based off something Belfort said on a TV show in Brazil, or something. Personally, I dunno WHY PRIDE would bring in Belfort, inless they want to give Silva a chance at redemption. That's about the only reason I could see. -
Hughes is stronger, more active, more comfortable in the surroundings, and neigh unstoppable. Royce...has a good ground game. Not great anymore. Good. Someone like Nogueria is on a different class then Royce now, atleast in a MMA setting. Royce hasn't fought anyone of any real caliber in a loooong time either. Hughes eats people in his weight class for lunch. Royce can't use his favorite strategy, which is to stall his ass off until the opponent gasses either. UFC won't allow him to, and Hughes won't get winded that easily. Royce's only hope is to submit Hughes, and Hughes is very good at surviving submissions, or avoiding them all together. That or a lighting rig falls from the ceiling, crushing Hughes and giving Royce the win. On the other hand, I'm interested to see if Vera can win another one. His running face kick/knee KO of Eilers was fucking swwwwwwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaank.

Is Andrei Arlovski simply not a very good fighter?
Hawkius Maximus replied to Your Paragon of Virtue's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
I never really said Hunt would be submitted, I said right now I fail to see why someone with good takedowns, and ground control couldn't do that against him in route to winning. Submission or not, Hunt hasn't proven that he cannot be ground controlled. Mirko's atleast shown he has some understanding of how it works. Plus...I like Yoshida. He's ballsy. Anyone who can take an asskicking and keep coming forward while only having a throw and maybe a submission or two as his only offensive weapons gets my vote. -
You can HEAR the "WHACK" from the lariat in most of those in the video. Hansen killed people with that thing. I've always heard it rumored that Kawada lost his front teeth from a mis-aligned Lariat from Hansen. Just because most people didn't do 360's, or that Hansen didn't smack his leg to make it sound more lethal doesn't mean he wasn't stiffing the living bejesus out of people.

Royce is going to DIIIIIIIIIIIE so very bad. His only hope is a submission, and I strongly doubt he'll be able to catch Hughes with anything. A part of me doesn't get why this is such a money match. Royce hasn't done anything in the states for years, and in Japan wasn't that spectacular either. On paper, this is a complete mismatch. ...Watch Royce win in two minutes now that I've said that. UFC bringing back Assurio Silva is a little surprising to me. He didn't look good against Sylvia, and I really just figured they'd cut their loses on him and look for someone else.

Is Andrei Arlovski simply not a very good fighter?
Hawkius Maximus replied to Your Paragon of Virtue's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
I think at this stage of the game, any good grappler who can take Hunt down will beat him. You can't beat Hunt standing because he walks through EVERYTHING, but taken down you can control the match, and go for submissions. In their fight, I think Mirko should have used his ground training he's had and tried to take the fight there, instead of throwing shots that Hunt just ate with no side effects. The key will be managing to get Hunt down, which if he's been smart he'll have been working on his sprawl, and ability to escape the guard. I think Sylvia would get his head knocked off. Arlovski would either try to bullrush and die, or be smart and take the fight to the ground. I think Sergei, 100% healthy would probably beat both. I'd pay to see Arlovski/Sergei though. Edit: And furthermore, the reason Andrei lost was because he cut his hair. That hair was godly. -

Hawkius Maximus replied to Your Paragon of Virtue's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
but you also have to take into consideration that Sergei got hurt almost immediately into that fight, and provided Overeem with problems even still. I mean, I read people saying Shogun's ranking isn't effected due to the loss to Coleman due to freak accident, but Sergei suffered his own pretty major injury in that fight with Overeem, or went into the fight injured. I forget which. Why would they be different? -
Is Andrei Arlovski simply not a very good fighter?
Hawkius Maximus replied to Your Paragon of Virtue's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
It wasn't that Arlovski was out gunned, it wasn't because Sylvia landed more shots, it was simply because Arlovski got careless. He thought Sylvia was done, and charged in for the kill. Sylvia happened to have his wits and blasted him with a short uppercut, combined with Arlovski's charging power and it was a KO shot. Had Arlovski not lunged in for another shot, that wouldn't have been a fight ender. Arlovski by reports under-trained, and took Sylvia lightly. It happens. Does that mean Arlovski isn't top five HW? No, it just means he got stupid. In their rematch, Arlovski will probably kill Sylvia dead. If he doesn't win THAT fight, then yeah, he should be dropped in the rankings. My own thing about HW's...How can you rank Hunt above any of the top five at this point? I mean, we all saw Hunt's industruciblity against Mirko, but the fact is he's only fought one grappler in MMA, and lost to him. I cannot fathom Hunt beating anyone who'd take him down at this point.
