Good wrestling games for the Gamecube
Hawkius Maximus replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in Video Games
I picked up DOR2 for 29.95. It's pretty good from what I've played. It's like WM XIX for the GC on steroids with better overall everything. What I don't get at all, is why it doesn't support six people in the ring at once. The GC is the second most powerful system behind the Xbox, correct? So why the fuck can the PS2 have six people in the goddamn ring, but not the GC? Makes no sense to me. Only negatives I've had thus far, is storyline is kinda weak. It's hard to change focus with the C Stick, and I've experienced slowdown in four man HITC's. Beyond that, good game. -
That episode was awwwwesome. What I loved, is it makes perfect sense. Sawyer needed someone to help him, and Charlie desperately needs SOME type of ally on that island after what happened It also sets up the tag team feud between Locke/Jack and Sawyer/Charlie. Sawyer & Jack hate each other, and Charlie hates Locke's fucking guts now. Charlie's totally fucked if Sawyer somehow lets it slipped. After how he reacted, Jin would kill Charlie DEAD.

Would this tape be worth getting? http://www.highspots.com/product.asp?id=13144&category=258 I used to watch Wildside yeaaars ago, on a big dish, and I've always wanted to see Team Wildside (Jeremy V, Jimmy Rave, Onyx & Hotstuff Hernandez) vs. The NWA Elite (Rainman, Jason Cross & Iceberg & Justice with Jeff G. Bailey) in the War Games after reading about it in some review I can't remember off hand.

I don't think most of us rational Seahawks fans are screaming that they lost due only to the refs. It didn't HELP, but it didn't kill them off. What killed them off, was the implosion that I had been fearing from day one. After the first half, something just...imploded. I don't know if it was the defense, or the playcalling between Matt and Mike...but something just went boom, and they lost alot of the fire they did have. I think they'll make the post season next year, due to the fact that they'll have just about everyone back, and if this post season has shown anything, it's the fact that Seattle doesn't NEED Shaun Alexander as much as they thought. Shaun's a dangerous tool to use, but he was completely held in check for most of the post-season, and it constantly fell to the defense, Matt Hasselbeck, and the wide receivers like Darrel Jackson, who had an amazing post-season to make plays, which they did. If Shaun starts demanding a huge contract, I do hope they let him go, and work with Maurice Morris, or another RB to take his slot after his preformences. One thing that does frieghten me about Seattle, is I see Hasselbeck getting a "I have to do this to win!" mentality, and sacrificing his health, and good play deciding to make plays. Which, if it starts happening, you can't overly blame him, but it'd kill the team in the long run. So...congrats to the Steelers, they played pretty well, didn't implode, and won. I think they'd have had a way harder time had Seattle not been fouled so often, but beyond that, they won the game, which is all that can really be said.

The officiating was bogus against the Seahawks, they nailed them for anything they could here. Including getting Matt Hasselbeck for fucking tackling the guy who just took his ball. Last time I heard of that, was when Big Ben did that against the Colts...and that was an awesome play! Matt...He gets a flag and they take fifteen fucking yards. Not to mention holding calls that weren't there, Ben's touchdown dive when he was pretty clearly not in...so on and so forth. That said...I thought the Steelers played well, and got progressively better as the Seahawks imploded. Between the referees, and the Seahawk's losing it, the Steelers held their line, and won. Congratulations to them, they won the game.

For me, it wasn't so much that I disliked the episode. I just thought it was boring, and consider it silly that they've turned Charlie into a completely pathetic character. Theres no way you can relate to him now. How can you laugh at someone who stole a baby? I just hope they have a plan to redeem him later this season.
-
I hope the intention was to make Charlie unlikeable, since that was about all they seemed to accomplish in this episode.
-
...How is that fair? They threw the flag, and it appeared like they stopped chasing. It almost looks like they practically HANDED Carolina that.

Make that 17-0 W00t

Seahawks 10-0. Goddamn. Happy, happy fun times for me right now.

Comments that don't warrant a thread

I wasn't the only one there! Thank god! I ended up stuck on that FOREVER, and felt like a complete idiot. Almost killed #1 for me. #2 is waaay better in every regard, thankfully. -
My uneducated football fan ass is leaning towards a Seahawks/Steelers Superbowl. Seahawks let teams get too close, but when it matters they can turn it on like dynamite. Shaun might still be questionable (Not sure), but they still have Hasselbeck, and he is the fucking man. Carolina is daymn good too, and could take it. Either way, neither team will lose anything by not winning this game in terms of respect in my eyes. Broncos/Steelers I'm not too sure about. I haven't seen much of the Broncos, but the Steelers were goddamn impressing against the Colts, and turned Peyton into jelly. Steelers are demons at defense, and just punish people, and I'm leaning towards them for that reason...plus, I seen them more during the reg season.

You gotta think Bang would be getting a god push following knocking his opponent out with ONE blow.
-
They've still got alot of time for one fight here.
-
...Josh whooped Drew bad.
-
Leben knocked him the FUCK out.
-
I'm amazed Seattle pulled that out. I honestly thought they were fucked after all the shit happened. I think Matt just proved he isn't just Shaun's little buddy. He IS a great QB, and can carry the team if needed. Great preformence from him in my eyes.
-
...FIrst down Seattle? Figures I leave the room and they DO something.
-
I seriously think Seattle is somehow cursed. I honestly do. They give Shaun his first carry, he fumbles. He doesn't get anything on the next few, and then fucking gets a concussion. Darrell Jackson shows his skills...gets injured. If they meltdown again...God it's going to suck.

Only thing keeping the Seahawks in this is their defense. I'm fearing the slow implosion that most of us were expecting. Edit: Annnnnd there we go.

Thoughts on the Following Fighters
Hawkius Maximus replied to RavishingRickRudo's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
Guy Mezger Surprisingly one of my favorite fighters. Mezger never went down without putting his all into the fight, and trying his damnedest to take the opponent out. Combined with his overall skills, he was a pretty strong fighter. I don't think he's fought recently, but he's one of the more underrated fighters I've ever seen. Enson Inoue Nothing more then a punching bag. You can say he has wins, but the reason Enson was booked as often as he was, was mainly for the sideshow factor. You knew he'd get killed by someone of high skill...it was more about how impressively he'd go down. Igor Vovchanchyn If you took away Igor's KO's, then you'd really have notbing that would result in him being booked or considered as highly as he is. Igor's a good fighter, but if anything, his last few outings have shown that his time is gone as a major player, if he ever had a major point at all. Wanderlei Silva Thee top LHW fighter still. While I think Shogun and Liddell are debatable, no one has the resume Silva has. He's killed everyone in his path outside of Arona, which is mainly due to Arona's solid boring style. Gilbert Yvel Sideshow. Yvel is only good for a few laughs as you watch him either get his ass kicked, or him foul like a sombitch. Gary Goodridge Always liked Gary, ever since he killed that poor guy in his UFC debut. That said, he's never been overly good persay, but he was a fairly effective gatekeeper for PRIDE for awhile, and his K-1 career isn't an abortion, so he has those things going for him. Kazushi Sakuraba In my opinion, the greatest fighter to ever fight in mainstream MMA. Back in the day, before all the injuries, Saku could hang with heavyweights, he could beat ANYONE. Fuck, he nearly beat Igor after going 90 minutes with Royce in the same night! Nowadays, he's older, slower, and more prone to injuries. If he stuck to the smaller divisions, Saku could still be a top contender, and a possible champion for PRIDE...but if he continues to fight in LHW, or even moves up to HW..He's got another year or two max. He can't take very many more beatings. Renzo Gracie The only Gracie I really respect. Renzo fights, and has won, and lost. He's a good fighter, but unlike all the other Gracie's, he competed quite regularly. Maybe that hurt his appeal some, but if anything it proved that he was a stronger fighter due to his actually PROVING his skill as a fighter. -
Comments that don't warrant a thread
Hawkius Maximus replied to {''({o..o})''}'s topic in Video Games
Heres a question that might deserve it's own thread...but I'm lazy. Am I the only person who absolutely SUCKS at getting from point A to point B in RPG-like games? In every single RPG I've ever played, I end up getting hopelessly lost for hooours. Only RPG I can honestly recall that I didn't get lost in for hours was Chrono Trigger, and even then I found myself in a few situations where I'm going "...Where the fuck do I go?!?!!?" A recent example is X-Men Legends 1. I'm playing through that, and in the Morlock Sewers...and I can't figure out how to proceed. All my objectives say is to destroy the pumps, but goddamnit I can't find the other! I searched for a good hour before I consulted a faqs, and found out there was an entirely different area I had to goto to get the second. I do that in every damned RPG I play. -
Kitna's pretty damned good for a backup. Bengals are doing just fine thus far without their top QB.
-
Palmer's knee is fucked after that. Tha twas PAINFUL to watch. Edit: Annnnd another one bites the dust apparently.

Yeah, I'm pretty behind here. I've recently come into ownership of a PS2, and I'm going to buy a bunch of games for it. I'm only interested in PS2 exclusive games, since I can get multiplatform games on my GC as it is usually. Right now, I'm forsure getting K-1 World Grand Prix, and PRIDE-FC, due to being a massive MMA mark. I've been considering Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution, due to being a fan of that franchise, but I'm un decided. If you can't tell, I'm aiming for fairly cheap PS2 games. I want to get God of War and Shadow of the Colossus, but their still quite spendy. I'm probably goign to get SDvRaw2k6, cause I need a better wrestling game. Any suggestions? When it comes to PS2 exclusives, I'm pretty out of the loop due to being so far behind the times. Any really good, fairly inexpensive games? Oh, and I need RPG reccomendations too. I'm not a fan of the typical "Save the world!" type games, and need a gimmick of some sort to keep my interest. A unique battle system, or some type of weird/good story. I've thoguht about Digitial Devil Saga, Star Ocean III and the Xenosaga games, but I'm undecided. Thanks for any help
