Weekend Boxoffice Report, Feb 11-13. 2005

I don't know if Son of the Mask can crack the top 10. If there's a just and loving God it won't. And I'm going to see Constantine next week. -
The title just looks better on paper RAW main eventers HHH, Jericho, Michaels, Benoit, Kane, Orton, Batista, Edge I think any one of these guys could hold the title at any time and not be a real disapointment. Smackdown main eventers Cena, Angle, Taker, Big Show, Guerrero, Bradshaw Cena's been squashing midcarders for months now, Taker's locked ina feud no one cares about, Guerrero can't get a win, and the champion is even a stretch as a legit main eventer. Half of their top guys are hosses. Which title would you hold higher?

Although most of the series has to do with their lives off the field rather then the actual football games. that's probably why it worked so well. I liked it. Deion Sanders even said that was closer to real football than any of the other movies. I have the set and enjoy it. But the DVD extras suck.

They seem to make most or half of the matches now the show before the ppv...you don't expect No Way Out to be booked well, do you?
-
He'd have stuck in the midcard till he screwed up bad enough to get fired. Maybe a tag title or IC run, but nothing more.
-
They have enough titles as it is. It woldn't make much sense for JR: "Here's you European Champion, Chris Jericho...he'll defend the title again in 5 months, folks."
-
Big Show's first reign was pretty bad. Just beat up Bossman and job the title back to HHH, I don't think anyone was shocked.

Crazy Eyez: "Larry David, I thought you was my nigga!" Larry: "I am your nigga!" That episode was the funniest of the series.

What is it with these fucking rich people shows?
Youth N Asia replied to Damaramu's topic in Television & Film
While Viva La Bam can be entertaining at times, it's just waaaay too staged. -
Yeah, X-Pac heat isn't the crowd booing you over your dastardly heel acts. They're booing cause they just don't want to see you at all. A "Just die already!" kinda way

MTV is just unwatchable programing. It's one thing to show stuff other than music videos or concerts, but almost all of their shows now have nothing at all to do with music. -
Invasion, pretty much everyone on team WWF was face...except X-Pac, everyone still hated him.

The belt comes off, but attatched to a very short string, so it doesn't go to far

The Sopranos - Pine Barrens "I'll leave you here you one-shoed cocksucker!" My favorite episode.
-
Best TV shows to only last one season or less. I have a few but I'll just start with Wonderfalls, great show, crappy network (Fox), crappy timeslow (Fridays at 9). Only lasted 4 episodes before getting the axe, funny as hell and finally out on DVD.

If you're going for joke, which they clearly are with Dean, you should either go all out or not at all

First set of bands announced for Warped Tour
Youth N Asia replied to Placebo Effect's topic in Music
Same thing, I was a long way back to start and as soon as they hit the stage everyone rushed and I had to keep up, so within 10 seconds I was like 5th row. They got maybe 30 seconds into their first song before they had to stop to let people up. I stayed up for 10 minutes or so, never going down, but helping a ton of people up. When they stopped again to let the crowd up I actually had to piggyback a girl out of there, which was fine cause I was leaving myself. I stayed in the back and watched the rest of the set from there. Heat and all the whole thing would have been bearable, if not for a neverending line of crowdsurfers weighting down an exausted crowd. -

Was it the Pontiac, MI set? Cause the same thing happened to me and everyone else there. -
I still say they bring in the Meanie as his sidekick, dude dropped 100lbs or so, it would only make sense. Then after the fitness gimmick runs its course, which it's doing, they can go back to bWo babyfaces

Jimmy Eat World is going on tour with Taking Back Sunday, so I don't know if they'll still be busy by the time Warped rolls around. They're never on the tour. -
I have both the Nightmare and 13th sets. Only about half of either series is any good, but for the sake of horror I think you have to have them. Plus Nightmare is only $70 at Walmart, that's about $30 cheaper than Best Buy has it.

Looking forward to sets from: -Billy Talent -Dropkick Murphy's -Fall Out Boy...last year in Pontiac their set was cut short cause a big speaker got knocked loose and looked to fall and kill people in the crowd -Hawthorne Heights -My Chemical Romance -Offspring -Plain White Tees -Reggie & The Full Effects -The Transplants -Tsunami Bomb BRING BACK ANDREW WK! That was the best 30 minutes of my music life. *waits for replies from music elitists who's taste in music is obviously better than everyone elses* -
Pretty average match. I expected another 5 minutes or so and a better build up to the finish. J CUP! "Come on motherfucker!" I love that, the Japanese crowd poped when he did it. Although Jericho dropped the f bomb a few too many times in that match.
-
I really enjoyed his matches as Lightning Kid and 1-2-3 Kid. And as Syxx he did some pretty good stuff too. I hate to say he went entirely in the crapper after he got hurt, but he did. And there was just nothing to his character after a while except beating up Kane, Bubba Ray, and other huge guys.
