Maybe they can trade him to somebody looking for a good 3-4 nose tackle.

Giants signed Sammy Knight to replace Gibril Wilson.

The Yankees best pitcher does not speak English. Neither does their second baseman and left- and centerfielders.

Rock Vs. HHH or HBK Vs. Hart, which Ironman match you think is better?
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in General Wrestling
The one time I tried to watch the HBK/Hart one, I fast forwarded to the end after about half an hour. It was incredibly boring to me. On the other hand, I loved the HHH/Rock one, despite the fact that they botched the ending with Taker arriving too late. They had to take the clock off the screen to try and cover it up, but overall the match was much more entertaining to me. One thing I remember was HHH smashing Rock with a chair, getting a DQ, and immediately pinning him. Why did Taker return to ruin a title match that he had no buisness with anyway? He had been gone for over 6 months, I didn't quite get why he was involved other than to say "Hey, Undertaker's back, he's a biker, and he wants a title shot." -
Thanks for that. If he could be an average defensive catcher at best, that would be fine. How many truely great catchers are there in MLB anyway? Not very many, a lot of teams punt at that position anyway. I'd rather bring somebody up from within for league minimum than overpay for some 35 year old off the scrap heap who won't give me anything but an automatic out.

I've heard Montero is a house at about 6'4 and 230 or so.
-
Does Cervelli fit into the grand scheme of things? I know there already is another wonder-kid catcher, 18 year old Jesus Montero, in the system somewhere. Of course I could just ask at NYYFans, but I'd rather not wade through a 20 page thread of overanalysis from a bunch of rose-colored glasses wearing Kei Igawa apologists.

Yankee catching prospect Francisco Cervelli injured his hand this weekend in a collision at home plate in the 9th inning. Joe Girardi's not a happy dude. I saw the replay today, and it didn't seem all that out of context, it was a routine (if there is such a thing) home plate collision scenario. The guy threw the shoulder, but Cervelli held on to the ball and the dude was out. I guess Girardi's beef is that it was too much of a hit for a ST game.

Let's Talk About..........The Natural Born Thrillers
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe replied to King Kamala's topic in General Wrestling
I remember when Mike Sanders was the commissioner for a short while when they were changing commissioners on a weekly basis. There was more than one time I remember that the office of the commissioner had to be defended in a match. Sanders, The Cat, Russo, Nash, Lance Storm, and possibly others all held the position at one time or another during that summer if memory serves me at all. -

What happened with O'Haire being this creepy devil's advocate type character? I checked out some of the short vignettes on Youtube and was wondering. -
How did Alexander get so washed up all of a sudden? I could understand him slowing down a bit, but it's like all of a sudden people are proclaiming he's all but done. I'm in the category of people who don't pay attention to the Seahawks, but this guy was the NFL MVP in 2005.

MLB 2K8 and MLB: The Show
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe replied to Canadian Brandon's topic in Video Games
I've learned to become a more patient hitter now and I've gotten the base running down pat, and I've gone from 2-6 to 9-6 (while Boston is 2-13). I got really good at the 'guess pitch' option and so in my last game I started to ween myself off of it. -

I don't read much, but I thought Last Night of the Yankee Dynasty was pretty good. -
MLB 2K8 and MLB: The Show
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe replied to Canadian Brandon's topic in Video Games
I got The Show today. After 2K6 and 2K7 being basically the exact same game (and extremely buggy at that) I've decided to switch brands this season. The franchise seems very in depth, I've only explored it a little bit so far but I like what I see. -

Check it out I saw this on MTVu of all places the other day. It had to have been done all in one take. Watch all the rediculous stuff that happens. It's awesome. The song is really catchy too, it's been stuck in my head for a few days. -

Yankees: 2001 World Series loss to Arizona Giants: 2002 playoff debacle against the 49ers. -
The same happened when the Yanks and D'Rays returned from Japan in 2004.

That was quite a catch. Ken Singleton said on YES "all he was missing was a cape"

Vilma is going to the Saints for a conditional draft pick. AP

I think that Reese and Spagnuola can pick up where they left off. No major losses, and I expect Strahan is coming back. Don't forget Mathias Kiwanuka will be coming back off injury. I also figure that Derrick Ward is a gonner, with the emergence of Bradshaw after he went down.
-
I figure they will go LB with the release/trade of Vilma. Edit. Browns are bringing back Derek Anderson on a 3 year deal.
-
They have certainly been busy in the last 48 hours or so. I didn't hear of either the Jenkins or Faneca deals until they went down. Does this move make the Jets O-Line their best strength at the moment? It better be for what they have poured into that left side in the past few offseasons. It would be a nice wall to run behind if they had someone who could run behind it.

As long as Hank lets Cashman continue running the show, he can say anything he wants. It's not like many people outside of New England have been Red Sox 'fans' for more than 4 years or so now, anyway.

The Yankees beat USF today, 11-4. The 4 runs were scored off Kei Igawa, who gave up a grand slam. P-Abe
