I certainly hope that the silver lining to tonight's drubbing is the last time we're subjected to the likes of non-prospect Jeff Karstens and journeyman Jim Brower. There are better options within the organization, but they are rotting away in the Poconos right now. Sorry, al, but the real Yankees need them worse.

ESPN sucks, so do thread closers

I still don't know, nor do I think ESPN even knows, what NOW is supposed to mean.

It's like a car crash, you can't help it. I haven't seen a second of the "tournament" but I certainly am not surprized it came down to those two.

I sure hope that is a joke. Those teams would absolutely mash the NL. The Yankees DH for most of the year has been .240 Damon, and other than that it's just really been used to keep regular fielders fresh once in a while.

Unless they need Jeffy Karstens tonight, he is going to get the call against Baltimore on Tuesday and Kennedy will be staying in Scranton. (Likely until September 1st, but Kennedy isn't on the 40-man) Clemens is skipping his scheduled turn in the rotation altogether and won't go until Saturday. They are going to be facing awesome pitching all this week, too, in Guthrie, Cabrera, Bedard, and Verlander. Time to see what this team is made of.

I'd like to know this too.

Ian Kennedy is going to be called up this week. NYYFans says Gammons reported it.

Czech's annual Yankee jealousy shines through. Does Bobby Keilty in Boston signal the end of the Eric Hinske Era?

Just heard about it on NYYFans. Hope it gets done, but I doubt it. Peter Abraham Not to mention losing Pettitte in 2004 got them Hughes.

After this week's Mets/Braves series, I've been pondering wether Chipper Jones is a Hall of Famer. I would say yes. As of right now (age 35), he's hitting .306 for his career with 376 home runs, a 5 time All-Star, 2-time Silver Slugger, 1995 Rookie of the Year, 1999 NL MVP, plus he has a World Series championship which counts for a lot with the voters. In the postseason, he is a .288 hitter with 13 homers. And for you OPS gurus, he is 11th among active players (most who will be HoFers in their own right) in career OPS with a .9478.

    Trades in Sports Games

I got lots of good prospects/developing stars for overpaid old guys that I didn't want. One example being I traded Smoltz in his free agent year to Detroit for both Verlander and Miller. In my Yankee franchise, I traded Pettitte and Posada for Santana and Mauer.

Wells' 1998 season was phenominal. He pitched a perfect game, went 18-4, started the All-Star Game, and started Game 1 of the ALDS, ALCS, and World Series. Tonight we're being treated to Phil Hughes against Fausto Carmona. Hopefully Joe lets Joba get an inning tonight (hasn't pitched since his debut Tuesday) and doesn't Edwar him.

What do you completely and utterly suck at?

I'll be the first to say that I actually am good at drawing. I used to draw all the time. I can't dance worth a damn, whatsoever. Yet I got an A in a dance class I took my freshman year of college. Although it wasn't any kind of dancing that would, you know, help get me laid and stuff. I am THE world's worst basketball player. Without a doubt in my mind, the absolute worst on Earth. There's more. But I am so awful at basketball that it outshines everything and anything else that I suck at, or may suck at in the future.

Last night during the game on the radio, the reporter they were talking to in the "Daily News 5th Inning" said he expected to see Edwar Ramirez up again soon, possibly this week. I know he's not originally from the Yankee farm system, but neither is Jim Brower. And I've already had my fill of Jim Brower.

12 of the 25 current Yankees on the roster are from the farm system. Times they are a changin' and every baffoon here that thinks that Cashman should be fired is out of their minds.
