  1. Ponson pitched a very ugly 6 inning shutout last night. In the 2nd inning he loaded the bases with no out and worked out of it, then again in the 3rd he loaded them with one out and again escaped. I figured it would either go down like that, or a blow out of game 1 proportions, with no middle ground. Just one of those hunches. Even Igawa-san made a cameo and wasn't that offensive.

The pen sucked balls in the 1st game, big time. But I still like Edwar Ramirez alot. More K's that innings pitched (25.0/27) and an ERA+ of 112. His change up is nice.

  2. Jeter's slump directly coincided with him being drilled in the wrist by Daniel Cabrera several weeks back. He refused to come out of the line up and it hurt the team and also his numbers. Lately, he has begun to heat up again, and his SS has been passable so far.

Cano has been awful at the plate, showing signs of life the last few games. But his play in the field has been exempliary.

Melky has been flat out awful. Neither him or his buddy ever take any pitches, they make weak hacks, and they are black holes in the line up. And the past two days, Melky has been leading off with Damon limping a bit. Not good.

I do not want to get into the whole debate again. But Joba Chamberlain has to be a starter. He is a starter. He will be a starter. That's it.

Ramirez, Veras, and Ohlendorf have been fine in the pen.

  3. I'm tremendously disappointed they didn't include "Janie's Got a Gun." My second-most preferred Aerosmith song just behind "Dream On."

I'll second that, I was looking forward to playing that song.

Very disappointed in this set list, pretty much killing my interest in the game altogether. I was willing to give it a shot, since I've been dying for new songs for months now. I was all ready to go out and the the game/guitar bundle since I still need a new guitar, but now...yuck. I thought there was going to be a decent selection of songs other than just Aerosmith ones. It looks like 90% Aerosmith, with 1 other song I would care about (STP). There are basically 3 songs that I could see myself replaying in this game. Most of the tracks I don't even recognize, but I'm not familiar with the band outside of their big hits.

  4. He is a complete horse's ass. But the media doesn't hate him, or really show him in a negative light like they do with other athletes. They slob Schilling's knob constantly, especially since Game 6 of the 2004 ALCS. I don't think there is any doubt that he'll get in first ballot. The moron writers hold it against alot of guys who don't have 300 wins as an excuse to not vote for them, but Schilling will be one of the guys they give a pass to on that.

I hate his fuckin' guts. But he'll be there.

Edit: He's also a poster at the NYYFans forum. Douchebag.

  5. Gotta love the Wilpons. They gave him an ultimatum to win the weekend at home against Texas. He survives the weekend, flies 3,000 miles to California and then they can him?

I have to believe that Minaya is going to be gone in the offseason. Willie has been his scapegoat all season long. Trot Nixon isn't the savior.

  6. Nice last three picks, all solid defensive players.

And Shawne is already working on his legend. 3 All-Pro's, part of the Eli deal (right?), Lights Out, suspended for steroid use.

Correct, he was drafted by the Chargers with the 12th pick in 2005, which they got from the Giants the year before.

He also wailed somebody with a judo stick at the most recent WWE pay-per-view.

  7. Speaking of pitchers batting, Chien-Ming Wang injured his foot running the bases in today's game. The tests aren't out yet, but it could end up being a season ender. He scored limping home and almost collapsed onto Robinson Cano for support, who was standing near home plate. Girardi and the trainer had to help him to the club house, and reports are that he left the stadium on crutches and got an MRI with pending results.

  8. The Os came back from down 6-1 to win 9-6, I missed the comeback...lesson learned.

They got a sellout out of a Pirates game so it was even better..maybe they'll start drawing more than 20,000 a night.

Baltimore is only a little over 20 miles from PA. I am sure there were a lot of Pirates fans that made the trip. Nothing to get excited about potential drawing power, says I.

But Pittsburgh is so far west that it's near the Ohio border.
