There's logically only a few ways the MitB can be used though.
-
I've been predicting this for months... If Edge were to do this, it would be the most awesomely dickish heel move in the history of OUR GREAT BUSINESS! /end Fat Tony To do this properly, you'd have to play up Edge being a total coward in the MitB match. Have him duck and cover, hang out on the outside, keep himself from getting too beat up. Have him basically steal the briefcase from Orton, or in a nod to continuity and general dickishness, Matt Hardy, at the end of the match. So, Edge is relatively fresh, and since the MitB is usually at the beginning of Mania or so, he's got plenty of time in the 4 hour show to rest and recoup a bit. Then, Big Dave and Taker have their physical, brutal match, and Taker wins decisively. That's when Edge strikes, spearing Taker at least twice, and winning the WHC in the world's all time ultimate heel move.

Lex Luger. Carl Oulette (who's fine as a power wrestling) inexplicably in the X Division. Michael Shane's ungodly long title reign. AJ Styles as an opening act. Ya know, this statement's actually pretty accurate. For the record... I really liked Carl in the X-Division. He was big and powerful, yes, but he was crisp with his moves and still did some flying. His Package Piledriver was wicked too.

Matt Morgan? Giant Bernard?

They already did this with Truth nearly 5 years ago... Then again, it worked uber well back then, so if he got the push again, I'd love to see it.

TV deaths that pissed you off or upset you
Blade2kxx replied to Youth N Asia's topic in Television & Film
Nobody except me actually watched the damn show, but seeing Father Tomas get axed in Point Pleasant was upsetting... I didn't remember how shocking and sad it really was until I started to rewatch the series. Oh, and if they kill off next week on Heroes, I will be PISSED. -
Actually, I don't know about you, but I think Michaels works BEST when he's facing a guy bigger than him because one thing Shawn does exceptionally well is his bumping and the timing of his comebacks. He's great in that sort of role and he and Taker have worked great matches in the past. I really don't see why this would be any different.

Forgetting is a bit harsh... I wish TNA would use their video library more as there's some good stuff from the Nashville era, even the small 6-sided ring Nashville Era, that I want to see again. But for this special, stick to anything that happened after iMPACT, yes.

KoTM - I see them showing KoTM 2 from last year. Six Sides - It'll either be AMW/XXX or Styles/Abyss. It's gotta be one of those two. Ultimate X - How about Styles-Daniels/LAX? Add in one of the Joe/Angle II and the Jarrett/AMW vs. Rhino/3D 6 man from Genesis 2005 and you've got a show.

From what I understand, the intention was to make it look dirty and underground.

LUDICROUSweight~ He can't possibly be at LUDICROUSweight! He's not wearing plaid! The only wrestler who is at LUDICROUSweight is Piper.

So, I'm on a quest to get most of the meaningful TNA DVDs out there. That's basically everything except the PPV DVDs and the Jeff Hardy DVD since it's the suck. I may skip out on 3LK too. So, anyway, I'm grabbing the TNA Title Matches and Ultimate X collection online tonight, adding to my collection already containing: -AJ Styles Volume 1 -Raven -JOE -50 Greatest Moments -TNA X-Division Volume "1" & 2 Here's my question: Does anyone out there have the original Best of the X-Division Matches or Best of the Bloodiest Brawls and are they willing to part with them?
-
I have the new Best of the X-Division Volume 1. I got that double pack at Walmart. What I'm looking for is the original Best of the X-Division Matches that covered alot of the first year stuff, like Corey said. And no, there's alot more on that X-D Matches DVD than just Styles.

Y'know what would be a nice treat for those following TNA through the years but Midway would never put in. Different stages. We all know how the Impact Zone looks, and I'm sure Bound for Glory's set will be put in. But, what about the stages that were at the Asylum? Or how about the original look of the Zone? I'd love to have these stages... NWA-TNA First Show NWA-TNA Asylum 1 (2002) NWA-TNA Asylum 2 (January 2003 - June 11th, 2003) NWA TNA Asylum 3 (1st Anniversary Show to 9/8/2004) TNA Impact Zone 1 (June 4th, 2004 - May 27th, 2005) TNA Impact Zone 2 (October 1st - Current) TNA Bound for Glory 2006 Would I rather the game make sure that the physics are right and that it's fun first? Yes, without a doubt. But if there's time to do it, and there's plenty of time with this game, I'd love to see these nods to the past put in.
-
I gotta say I think this is a good move. Seeing the show in a different atmosphere really helped make BFG feel special. At the very least, BFG, LockDown and Slammiversary should be outside of Orlando this year. I'd love if they did Slammiversary in the Asylum. That would be a perfect way to celebrate the 5th Anny.

Hot damn, that was an awesome promo from JBL... seriously, just amazing.

Wrestler of the year: Samoa Joe Tag-team/Stable of the year: LAX Match of the year: AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels vs. LAX - Ultimate X (No Surrender) Best heel: Scott Steiner Best face: Kevin Nash... just kidding. Rhino. Most improved wrestler: Hernandez Quote of the year: "Shut the front door!" - Kevin Nash Markout moment of the year: LAX beats down AJ and Daniels and signs the open contract for a NWA Tag Title shot in Daniels' blood. Funniest moment of the year: Nash's Exclusive Interview with Alex Shelley. Worst moment of the year: Jarrett wins KOTM. Worst wrestler of the year: Sirelda Best PPV: Turning Point Worst PPV: Victory Road Biggest disappointment: Ron Killings' lack of push.

You know... Chris Benoit's WCW theme was pretty damn cool too. Also, we forgot a massively awesome theme. GOLDBERG... Seriously, 'Berg's theme was perfect for getting the crowd ramped up.
-
-Rob Van Dam, Sabu, and Rey Misterio will join TNA. -Kurt Angle will be NWA World Champion at some point. -Joe will beat Angle for the title. -Jarrett's face run will flop. -Slammiversary will take place in Nashville for TNA's 5th Year Anniversary. -Alex Shelley will still not get pushed. -King of the Mountain 4: Kurt Angle vs. Christian Cage vs. AJ Styles vs. Ron Killings vs. Rey Misterio -Petey Williams will team with Chris Harris in a new AMW and it'll flop. -James Storm's heel turn will be a sucess. -Paul Heyman joins and becomes the new 'voice' of Abyss. -Vince Russo will make it through the year. -Chris Hero will get a tryout and become huge.

I disagree with this having seen Monty's entire career with TNA... If they let Monty be the type of character he was in 2004, with the insane rambling promos and the intensity that few can manage, I think Monty can go far. But if they use him like a generic Goldberg clone, then he's dead in the water. Also, they should see if they could get Down With The Sickness for his theme, since it would be recognizable.
-
-Monty Brown would join The E. -Triple H would not wrestle HBK all year. -A cheerleader gimmick would hold the tag titles for 6 months. -K-Fed... anything.
-
CM Punk - AFI's "Miseria Cantare (The Beginning)" Perfect song to set up how epic most of his matches were.
-
Then again... How much should the undercard draw? If the upper-card is strong enough, then the undercard is unimportant. Say it was Eric in the PCS match. Would his addition to the match make TNA make any more money?
