Yeah, WM X-8 was a piece of shit. Aside from the Rock-Hogan match, which was barely decent from an in-ring standpoint, the entire show was completely forgettable, with Austin-Hall, Angle-Kane, Edge-Booker and the womens match all being terrible. The rest of the matches were mediocre at best. WM 2000 was a great PPV, but an underwhelming WrestleMania.

Greatest WrestleMania Matches of All-Time
Jericho2000Mark replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in General Wrestling
1. Bret vs Owen, an excellent match that still holds up today, featuring the best two workers in the company at the time 2. Bret vs Austin-Submission match, one of the most emotionally powerful matches in wrestling history, and an excellent match to boot. 3. Triple H vs Chris Benoit vs HBK-WM XX, Just a really exciting match without a moment to rest, the best match anyone could possibly get out of Triple H or HBK at this stage of their careers. 4. Ricky Steamboat vs Randy Savage-WM III 5. Randy Savage vs The Ultimate Warrior-WM VII 6. E & C vs Hardyz vs Dudleyz-WrestleMania 2000...don't ask me why, but I enjoy this far more than any that followed this match. The spots were fewer in between, but seemed more important, and actually gave the wrestlers time to sell the bumps. 7. Kurt Angle vs Chris Benoit-WM X-Seven, a great match that would of been on par with their later matches if not for the bullshit finish. 8. TLC 2-WM X-Seven 9. The Rock vs Steve Austin-WM X-Seven, The biggest and highest drawing match in the history of wrestling, and the usual good match between these two, but greatly overrated and the ending with Vince screwing over Rock dragged on way too long. 10. Shawn vs Razor-WM X-Does not hold up at all today because it's been trumped so many times since, but is one of the most talked about and influential matches in WrestleMania history. -
As good as the matches are, I never want to see any combination of Joe-Styles-Daniels ever again(unless it's to blow off Styles-Daniels). They need to move one, both or all three of those guys to the Main Event and bring in someone like Dragon, Steen, Ki or all of the above to make the X Division interesting again. I'm hoping they elevate Daniels first, since he's more marketable than Joe, cuts better promos and is a better worker, not to mention they've been grooming Monty to be the big main event monster heel anyway.

Wasn't that only because of a pre-match stipulation and not a regular rule?

I missed tonight's show, can anyone give me a quick recap?

The fans would shit on Cena moreso if he faced The Rock, or Hogan, or Austin... He needs a heel turn to get his "edge" back, then when he starts drawing face reactions again, don't change his character, just change his opponents to heels. That's basically what they did to Austin in '97, and Rock in '99, and we all know how well that turned out. Not that I'm saying Cena is anything close to Rock or Austin... The Rundown and Walking Tall basically bombed at the box office too, but they did incredibly well on DVD and managed to turn around a decent profit. Rock isn't going anywhere.

I've only been here two years, is this the lowpoint of the forum?

Jim Lee's characters all look identical, ditto for John Byrne. Best I've seen was probably Travis Charest, who drew Wildcats a few years ago, and Joe Madueria(sp?) who drew Battlechasers and X-Men, I think. Favourites are Michael Allred, Steve Dillon, David Mazzuchelli, Mark Bagley(early-mid 90's Spider-Man) and Jack Kirby.

Will WWE ever be as great as they were in 2000?
Jericho2000Mark replied to AmazingRen's topic in The WWE Folder
I was going to say that 2000 was their best year probably because it was the first full year they had SmackDown...but they had at least 6 PPV's that year which did 500 000 buys and over, although three of them were because of Austin's return(s)(Backlash, Unforgiven & No Mercy). Where as '98 and '99 did excellent buys for the big three, and decent buys for everything else. -

Linda McMahon: Babyface Naturist CM Punk- Vince McMahon's dream gimmick...The homosexual, incest, necrophile, cannibal pedophile! He begins a fued with "storyline" brother Spanky, cultimating in a loser gets "raped, killed, raped again and eaten" match. Shawn Michaels: MMA fighter. Rey Mysterio: Cancer patient. A bald scalp is painted onto the top part of his mask. Tatanka-Young Indian man Tatanka is a nerd in his reservation, wearing oversize glasses and telling everyone stories no-one wants to hear. His parents died in a fire in 1976, and Tatanka was saved by Arnold. Arnold soon left his family (and his tough son Funaki), and Funaki hasn't seen his father for 10 years. When Funaki hears Arnold has died, Tatanka offers him funding for the trip to get Arnold's remains, but only if Tatanka will also go with him. Tatanka and Funaki hit the road. -

Will/Should Rey Mysterio Make It To WrestleMania 22?
Jericho2000Mark replied to Enigma's topic in The WWE Folder
Cena was on the poster of the 2004 Rumble...he wasn't even one of the final four. -
If that's the case, then they didn't want him to hurt Angle, Edge, Lita, Jericho and Big Show's image, either.

So are you finally accepting the fact that Triple H not only has backstage power in WWE, but creative control over other wrestlers? That's a start. -
I want you banned and I don't even like Jarrett.

Jericho2000Mark replied to Enigma's topic in The WWE Folder
Surprised it's been this long and no one's said it, but.. On the Canadian television show Off The Record, both Triple H and Vince McMahon have guested at seperate times. Both admitted that Triple H is indeed part of creative. Vince said that Triple H and Stephanie would be next in line to take control of WWE after him, whenever that might be. Triple H meanwhile talked candidly about his role as part of creative, admitted it was hard to be on both sides of the fence (a wrestler and a booker), and finished by saying that the people commenting on the internet don't know what they're talking about. When it comes straight from the horse's mouth, that's proof. Now, back to your regularly scheduled arguments. Big Deal. It's already been stated that workers are invited to sit in on production meetings, suggest ideas for their characters, etc, etc He doesn't just sit in on meetings, he's a BOOKER. He's a MEMBER, not a spectator, of the creative team. You can add understanding the written language to things you can't do. -
This guy is the worst non-gimmick poster I have ever seen on any board, ever.

Pro-TNA? People hated Triple H before TNA was even an idea... -
Agreed, McDonalds would be wise to add it to their menu again. They also need to bring back the pizzas they had in the early 90's, those were quite delicious.

I think the question that needs asking is why they didn't come out with Rolos ice cream sooner.

Using Eddie's death in storylines - So, are all of you finally aga
Jericho2000Mark replied to Downhome's topic in The WWE Folder
To be fair, alot of that was Eddie's own doing. If he would have been able to handle the pressure on top better, things may have been much different He didn't have to lose in every major match he had though. There were ways to keep him looking strong without putting the belt on him. -

Jericho2000Mark replied to Downhome's topic in The WWE Folder
If Triple H or Undertaker died, Vince wouldn't exploit their deaths because he actually had respect for them when they were still alive. Where as he jobbed the shit out of Eddie when he was still, by far, the biggest draw on SmackDown.
