That is such bullshit. Jericho, Christian and RVD did their part, they got over. That should be enough. How can they make their own breaks? By fucking Shane? This is just something Triple H said to cover his tracks when people started asking why he was on top for 6 years, when there were lots of other, more over wrestlers who had the potential to be big draws, that were completely overlooked in favour of a guy who was never much of a draw by himself and who's drawing power has been declining for years.

Wow, if those segments are drawing "very well" and SmackDown's ratings are still dipping below 3.0, imagine how badly Batista & Bradshaw's segments are doing? -
Hogan and Michaels are the two biggest no jobbing pieces of motherfucking shit in the history of wrestling, making Hogan's statement even more pathetic. Besides, HBK refused to job to Bret at that year's Mania, after Bret basically made him a star a year earlier, so he was just repaying the favour.

If Cena gets outcheered by RVD, the only thing RVD will be headlining is Heat, until his heat dies down a little. They have gone four years blatantly ignoring his crowd reactions, why would they stop now? WWE has a history of burying anybody who they didn't plan on getting over. Ditto for Jericho.

What are talking about? He's never even been put in the positrion to draw, much less had the chance to be a less-than-stellar one. The guy's spent the better part of three years doing jobs on Heat and Velocity. The only way of knowing if he could be a draw is to look at his merch sales or segment ratings, I haven't seen his segment ratings, but his merch sales have always been great, even during his V1 gimmick.

Wasn't that Luther Reigns gimmick?

What would be the best creative team possible?
Jericho2000Mark replied to Downhome's topic in The WWE Folder
I've heard Meltzer say this as well, about the ideas for his fueds coming from him. If that's the case, then judging by his fueds for the last three years, he would make a terrible, terrible booker... For whoever said Heyman was responsible for WrestleMania XIX bombing, he was taken off creative before or a couple weeks after the Rumble that year, IIRC... Not to mention that neither Lesnar nor Angle were ever draws, while Hogan exausted his drawing power from his last run in the company and Vince was quite stale at that point. While on Raw, Triple H-Booker was an incredibly weak Title match on paper, Michaels has never been a draw and Jericho has never been given the chance to be one. Rock-Austin had been done to death and the window for a rematch from WrestleMania X-Seven had already closed when they didn't pull the trigger on a rematch at SummerSlam that same year. -

What does the fact that Triple H will run the company someday have to do with coming up with the best creative team possible? I hate to break it to you, but he will never stop putting himself in the star role as long as he's wrestling. If he had a good wrestling mind, he would know how to keep his own character interesting. -

And yet the people naming Vince Russo aren't? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh sorry, I forgot that he had absolutely nothing to do with WWE's success during the Attitude era and everything to do with the death of WCW, my bad. But seriously, the last time he was booking was TNA in early 2003, where he had someone to reel him back in, and he booked excellent shows, and it was TNA's best period creatively(although that's not saying much). It definitely blew away WWE's booking of the past three, and possibly four, years. -
I don't see how anyone can say 2002 was actually worse than 2003, 2004 or 2005, at least it had the SmackDown Six going on...

Paul Heyman and Vince Russo, with Heyman having the power to veto Russo's ideas. Whoever said Triple H and Kevin Nash is a botched lobotomy patient. -
Austin, Rock and Foley are the lone exceptions, and two of those guys were two of the three biggest draws ever. You would think Vince would get the hint and start listening to the fans more...you would think.
-
Vince is a fucking idiot. How can someone so stupid and completely ignorant of what his customers wan't, become a self-made millionaire, and at one point, billionaire? I agree with whoever said Vince doesn't deserve any of the fans his company has. If WCW or anything resembling competition were around today, and WWE booked the shit they have been booking for the last three years, they would be at 95-97 buisiness levels by now...if that. Honestly, I liked WCW at any point more than I like WWE right now... At least they didn't restrict good wrestlers from doing what they do best, or put glorified lower card cheap heat magnets like Bradshaw on top, and only give the Main Eventers time to put on good matches(Which most of them can't do anyway, which is why there are so many damn gimmick matches in Main Events these days).
-
Where's all the JBL love now? Now that he doesn't have opponents like Eddie Guerrero or gimmick matches to cover up for the fact that he's no better than he was when he was part of the A.P.A jobbing to the likes of Test & Albert...

HHH has jobbed way more, even in the 2002-now period, than Hogan ever did in his prime. Hogan has so much power that he left the comapny AND dropped the title at the same time in a friggin' screwjob finish implies to marks that he probably still should have been champion. If that kind of exit isn't a serious display of political power, then I don't know what is. HHH's power mostly revolves around being able to waste TV time with his windbag promos. Sure, he tried pushing Orton & Batista along but those guys would have gotten over with Vince for their body styles anyway. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No way, Vince even mentioned Triple H along Shane and Steph as the three people who will run his company when he steps down. Hogan might be gone in a couple months, but Triple H will never leave...

I'm pretty sure Triple H has more creative control than Hogan, Taker, Michaels or Nash ever had.

Weren't the matches only announced on WWE.com?
-
Didn't Bad Blood last year only do like 250 000 buys? Didn't the Torch come up with the 800 000 buys figure? What was the last thing they reported first that actually came true?
-
May I ask what the point of this trade was? They basically swapped their weekend show rosters, and a lot of those guys will probably be fired anyway(or should be).
-
Maybe the segments Triple H would normally be in end up doing better numbers without him? Normally I would be interested in hot chicks in skimpy outfits, but hearing Jerry Lawler squeal about how horny he is tends to kill whatever boner I might of had.

OAO WWE released talent/staff thread
Jericho2000Mark replied to MikeJordan23's topic in The WWE Folder
I'm glad someone finally said this, I agree with everything you said, the only thing that seperates Triple H from midcarders like Val Venis and Bob Holly is a push... If they were given the same chances Triple H has been given, to put on great matches, like having their matches booked to mask their weaknesses(like in Triple H's case, having all his matches as overbooked garbage brawls with multiple props) and getting 20+ minutes to wrestle every PPV, they would get as much praise from the IWC, if not more. There is nothing special about Triple H and anyone with even a little talent could of done what he did if given the same push.
