Source? I asked Bryan Alvarez over a year ago on the observer comment box, and he said they were.

Even though the Triple H-HBK fued was never a draw, even though Benoit's Title chase didn't draw, even though a rematch between the three PLUS Mick Foley's first singles match in four years couldn't break 300 000 buys, you're saying that was the biggest reason 900 000 people ordered that show? You don't think The Rock's first match in a year, Mick Foley's first match in four, the teased return of the old Undertaker gimmick and the dream match between Brock and Goldberg that people had wanted to see ever since WWE signed Goldberg, had more to do with it? The reason Goldberg-Lesnar drew such negative heat was NOT because no one wanted to see it. It was because the match sucked and a few people found out only a day or two before the event(after they had ordered) that both were leaving.

The womens matches are among the lowest rated segments on Raw, and the entire division revolves around Trish, how exactly does that make her a draw? The only diva who even resembles a draw, is Lita...mainly because of her merchandise sales. Victoria and Molly are both better workers than Trish.

What is your favorite catchphrase that didn't..
Jericho2000Mark replied to a topic in General Wrestling
The one where Rock got one side of the crowd to chant "You Are", and the other side to chant, "An Asshole", at Vince. I liked it, but there was no way the crowd would chant that on their own. -
Even Christy Hemme will get more time than the cruiserweights...

Cena or JBL?
Jericho2000Mark replied to rising up out of the back seat-nuh's topic in The WWE Folder
They could still have Cena win earlier and put him in the spotlight at the end of the show by having him and Batista celebrate their Title wins together(like Benoit & Eddie last year), with the theme being that the "new generation" has arrived. -
Cena or JBL?
Jericho2000Mark replied to rising up out of the back seat-nuh's topic in The WWE Folder
Turn it into a tire? Cena's a budding ratings draw and with RVD gone, is the second biggest ratings draw on Smackdown, next to Eddie. JBL needs to drop the belt. He's, by all accounts, a failure as champion and nothing more than a midcard comedy act who relies entirely on cheap heat tactics to draw any reaction. The ONLY reason he's been having better matches than Cena is because he's faced better opponents. Throw him in there with someone besides Eddie and Angle, his true talent(or lack thereof) shows. He's probably the most protected wrestler in the company, even more than Triple H(who can only put on a decent match if it's gimmicked or has a strong worker, like Benoit, Shelton or Tajiri to carry him). I would rather see Cena as a heel champion, as he's capable of having better matches(as a heel) and doesn't need to be protected as much as JBL. They can turn him after he wins the belt(kind of like they did with Rock), which can create possible fueds with Eddie, RVD, Rey or Taker(they seem to work eally well together for some reason). Or if they wan't to keep him face, they can do that "Champions switch brands" deal they were talking about a couple months back, and send him to Raw where there's fresh heels. I just think there are more possibilities with Cena as Champion than JBL(who has already gone over everyone on the brand, twice). -
Judgment Day '98 was underrated, aside from the shitty main event and Rock jobbing to Henry, it had two really good midcard matches with Snow vs Mero and Venis vs Goldust.

What would Doink be like if the guy playing him used Jack Nicholson's joker as the inspiration, maybe Doink could of lasted through the Attitude era?
-
Is there really much of a choice anyway? Besides Borne, the only other guy I know that played Doink(besides the million Indy jobbers who have donned the suit) is Nick "Eugene" Dinsmore, when Benoit squashed him over a year ago.

What about No Mercy and Taboo Tuesday? -

How can it be deemed a success when buisiness has only continued to drop ever since it began? -
I think that is deliberate for obvious reasons(HHH?)! I like the Jericho/Benoit vs. Eddie/Rey match idea, but come on we know that aint happening. Or if it does, it would only get 5 minutes anyway. Granted, it would be the best 5 minutes of wrestling on the show.

TNA released him first, it wasn't like Vince lured him away. Plus, TNA is doing a pretty good job of bleeding itself into oblivion. Especially when they are paying DDP more than WWE would...

Has the Undertaker ever put anyone over cleanly?
Jericho2000Mark replied to Prophet of Mike Zagurski's topic in General Wrestling
About the Hogan match, Taker was distracted after hitting Bearer...that's not clean. That's like saying Rock put over Hurricane clean a couple years ago, even though it was Austin's distraction that allowed Hurricane to win. Being beaten in handicap matches shouldn't count as clean losses if the guy who lost has the handicap. "Yoko needed help from like 10 guys to win that" I think he was being sarcastic. -
Who should of won the WWE world title...
Jericho2000Mark replied to tbondrage99's topic in General Wrestling
I would have liked to see Owen end Bret's reign in '94, then transition the belt to Razor, who would recieve the push Nash had. I think he would have been more successful in that role, as he was more over and a better worker than Nash. Piper would be too much of a risk, since he wouldn't put over Hogan at all, back then. I do agree with Snuka(82/83), RVD(01/02) and Vader(SummerSlam '96). -
2 + years in OVW can do that to anyone...

Goldberg was more of a mainstream celebrity than Austin or Savage. Even Chyna was.

When did WCW hit The Point Of No Return ?
Jericho2000Mark replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in General Wrestling
When Goldberg went on the DL in early '00. He was the only draw they had left, and without him, suffered their worst period of buisiness ever. When he returned, WCW was well past the point of no return... -
Hogan-Piper was the main program when WWE wen't national in 84/85, and drew really well for WCW a decade later.

If you were talking to me, I said Edge-Rey, not Eddie-Rey. I wasn't complaining about Triple H-Batista, I was complaining about the possibility of Orton being in the match, even though everyone wants to see Triple H-Batista that WWE would probably fuck it up and make it a three way.
-
Exactly. Orton lost clean. Batista won the Rumble. No way Orton gets a title shot at Mania. It wouldn't make any sense. Orton is there, because they need someone to play the third wheel. You have Batista vs. HHH, Evo vs. Evo. Either they do the triple threat and keep Orton in the 'do the right thing Batista' role, or they simply turn Batista officially pre-Mania. Id' be very surprised if they went into Mania with a 'will Batista fight HHH' storyline still going, UNLESS they had Orton. Otherwise, they're selling Mania on a match that 'might not happen'. I could definitely see that happening. Batista vs Triple H just makes too much sense for WWE. I'm guessing the card will look like this... World Heavyweight Title Match" Triple H vs Batista vs Orton WWE Title Match: JBL vs John Cena Shawn Michaels vs Kurt Angle Kane & Taker vs Snitsky & Heidenrich Benoit & Jericho vs Eddie & Booker T Big Show & Rey vs The Bashams & Orlando Jordan Hassan vs Steve Austin in a 3 minute squash... I.C Title match: Shelton Benjamin vs Tyson Tomko Diva Search Chicks/Stacy & Torrie in some T&A segment/match Trish vs Victoria What I would like to see... Triple H vs Batista JBL vs Eddie(it could still be possible, despite what already happened) John Cena vs Steve Austin...if WWE is serious about Cena, then they need to put him over someone who actually means something. The promos could be good. Shawn Michaels vs Kurt Angle Edge vs Rey...they had chemistry as a team, maybe it could translate into a good match? Chris Jericho & Chris Benoit vs Edge & Christian Shelton Benjamin vs Charlie Haas Big Show & Booker T vs Bashams & Orlando Jordan Obviously something major would have to occur to have so many inter-brand matches.
-
From what I've seen, Orton Jr was a great worker, his matches with Paul Orndoff in the early 90's UWF(Herb Abrams fed) were excellent...and it cerainly wasn't because of Orndoff.
-
The RKO is better than it was. And they shouldn't be expected to carry a match with limited experience. That's what the experienced workers are there for. To cover their weaknesses. It's not rocket science. From what I understand, good workers can carry matches, therefore neither are good workers yet.

Those green neon tights Jericho wore at WrestleMania X-8. Unfortunately, Kidman looks even worse in the generic wrestling tights he wears now.
