WWE General Discussion - November 2007
Jericho2000Mark replied to Craig Th's topic in The WWE Folder
HHH did feud with Benoit and Angle after his feud with Jericho. Angle wasn't considered a legit main event wrestlers prior to HHH feuding with him, despite winning the KOTR. He was coming off getting squashed by Undertaker the previous PPV. That whole Stephanie/HHH/Angle triangle did a lot for Angle, despite it ending pretty bad. You're right. It turned him into a super geek that nobody could take seriously. Angle wasn't considered a legit main event before feuding with HHH, and he wasn't considered one after. The Angle/HHH feud generated a lot of interest from the fans, it was no question one of the best feuds in the WWF that year, despite it having a shitty ending. People would tune in each week trying to figure out what would happen next. It was great TV, and from my understanding it was apart of the reason that made Vince decide to put the belt on Angle. It was the best storyline of the year up until the finish, at which point all the momentum built up was pissed away and meant nothing. No good having the best storyline of the year if the ending is so ass backwards it destroys everything that's been built up. Agreed. That angle did nothing for Kurt besides make him look like a bigger joke than his comedy segments and Undertaker already did. Not only couldn't he beat Triple H, but Stephanie was just leading him on the whole time. Angle's first reign made him look like a midcarder with a belt who couldn't beat any of the top guys without cheating, of course nobody remembers this because WWE did such a terrible job booking Jericho as champion that Angle's first reign looked like like Hogan circa 1985 in comparison. I think one of the biggest reasons Angle never became a draw is because he was booked as a glorified midcard comedy act for so many years. People liked to laugh at him, but nobody would pay to see him get his ass kicked. -

That card doesn't look remotely awesome. JBL-Batista? We saw it, and it was horrible then. What's the point of throwing Finlay and Rey in the US Title match when everyone would rather see a grudge match with a returning Hardy and MVP? Triple H-Orton? Seen it, and it sucked. HHH-Flair Part 5? Yawn. Jericho vs Orton? Maybe, but that's not by any stretch of the imagination "awesome". -

Either Jingus is racist or he's really jealous that The Rock is black. This isn't as pathetic as the time someone made a thread asking if Eddie's death was an angle, but still....wow. -
Whoever says there is even a possibility that Bush may go down as a "good president" should never be taken seriously when it comes to any topic, ever.
-
Edge isn't witty at all, he just exaggerates simple dialogue and actually looks silly himself, except to those who have no sense of taste and continue watching WWE on a regular basis after all the talented and interesting people left. Now one of those people has come back and you don't know how to process a promo that is actually good.
-
Most of the crowd looked to be just standing there and there weren't very strong Y2J chants like there were in the first few weeks of Save_Us_222.
-
I thought Jericho's promo was really strong, but the crowd was flat, probably because the whole save_us campaign was obvious from the beginning and dragged on for too long, and they really overdid the entrance after giving him away. That was probably the best promo you're going to hear in 2007, I'm surprised the morons that drool over generic Edge & Orton promos didn't like it.

I liked "cool Michael" and the phone call to Stanley was great. This was far better than last week's episode.

That is the greatest thing ever.

Examples of a Wrestler TRULY Being Put Over
Jericho2000Mark replied to zappafrank's topic in General Wrestling
Cena got himself over and didn't even need to beat a major star to become a draw. -
I know wrestling fans aren't the smartest bunch, but wow.
-
Jericho is 6 feet with heels on, I believe I heard that from Meltzer. His legit height, last I heard, was 5"9. That 5"7 estimate was pulled out of your ass.
-
Loved this week's episode. Creed is quickly becoming my favorite character and Ryan is a lot more entertaining as Michael's younger boss.

Viscera is fucking atrocious, what is wrong with you?

So long Sonjay...

Wrestlescale - Results You are central in your beliefs about wrestling. You accept the idea of both old-school and sports entertainment but you are not extreme in either way. You believe that angles and matches are equally important to create a good wrestling product. Most similar booker: Paul Heyman Most similar promotion: ECW 1996 Got any feedback on the poll? We would love to hear it so we can improve the Wrestlescale project. Click here

Why are so many judges allowed to get away with ignoring the very laws they are hired to enforce? There really needs to be something in place to ensure these judges act in the best interest of the law, not their own retarded, fucked up beliefs. I completely agree with whoever said the judge was probably a pedophile. -

Jerry Lawler charged with assault charges

I heard he was charged with assault charges where they charged him by pressing charges for assault. -
Planet Terror from Grindhouse is probably the best movie of the year, so far. However, Death Proof from Grindhouse is one of the most boring, yet somehow still annoying, movies I've seen in a long time. I haven't seen Zodiac yet, but I imagine it would be up there for sure. Knocked Up was a fun movie, I only saw half of Hot Fuzz online and Pirates of The Carribean 3 was probably the best in the series. 300 was visually spectacular, but not much in terms of characterization and depth.

Yeah, I hope they cheer.
