Yes they were popular, but Final Fantasy VII became the cash cow that defined the RPG genre. People didn't really buy or play many RPGs until after FF VII was released.

VI is excellent, I have a walkthrough up on gamefaqs based on the english patch. I would recommend downloading it. The translation is pretty much complete, you can beat the game with only finding the odd shop text untranslated. Final Fantasy wasn't really popular or profitable to a huge degree until FF6. Final Fantasy 7 really skyrocketed the series as well as the RPG genre as a whole.

One of the greatest games I have ever played. I finished it the other day. It is quite long, much like DW7 was. I finished the main game and bonus dungeon in just over 92 hours. The game is actually called Dragon Quest VIII, like the past titles in japan now since they trademarked dragon quest in america.

Seabrook has comparible stats and a better plus minus while playing for the shitty hawks. Stats aren't everything. Seabrook is an offensive defenceman, while Phaneuf isn't. Phaneuf is better defensively, is a better checker and has the intimidation factor. In addition, plus/minus is a useless stat to quote. It doesn't reflect anything whatsoever. Phaneuf has the fifth best rating for Defensemen on his team. While plus minus is mainly a team stat, it is a very telling stat.

Sorry but I worked for the horses mouth. I understand the behind the scenes stuff regarding xbox live. The only servers that really have problems are EA servers that xbox doesn't control. People with decent connections never have any problems with lag/slow down or anything else regarding the live service. I know for a fact that xbox live had a problem with Verizon for a few days in the summer. Verizon said it was us and we said it was verizon. Kind of odd when all Verizon and only verizon customers were having slow down, lag, and failed connection problems with the service. Call volume went up tremendously during those days and I actually helped make a script for the agents to relay to customers after we investigated the issue. It was Verizon being in the end.
