I stopped playing Magic: The Gathering back in 2000 and sold off my collection for $200, but now I have a small collection of cards again. Somewhere hidden in my home and stashed in a Pop-Tarts box I have a decently-sized collection of football cards that I started when I was still in elementary school. Unfortunately, it's the Pro Set collection, which I imagine still doesn't have that much value.

Makes sense seeing as how EA is pimping the defense this year. By the way does anyone have a running tab on the EA Sports coverboy each year and how they managed to do in their corresponding season? We all know what happened to last year's Madden coverboy.

Indeed. Bootlegs, which I lovingly call "Hong Kong Special Editions", are an extreme mixed bag. The video and audio transfers are usually decent quality, but you are in for a fun time if you can't understand Japanese and have to rely on subtitles. More often than not you will get poorly translated and mistimed subtitles on bootlegs. The bootleg I got for Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' on Heaven's Door not only had poor English translation, but the subtitles appeared a full ten seconds before its corresponding line was actually spoken. Because of my experience with them I hardly ever deal with bootlegs anymore. I now go through the more legal approaches of watching anime (rentals, fansubs for the non-commercially released titles, free TV, and occasionally buying the DVDs). I also recommend looking through the manga section of your local bookstore and skimming through some of the titles. With the exception of a few titles, the manga is the source material for the anime so you can get a feel for what to expect in the anime. Picking up a graphic novel here and there isn't a bad idea either.

My wisdom teeth were coming in almost completely sideways and had been annoying my mouth for ages. So when I finally got an excellent dental plan, they immediately came out. I loved the fact that they knocked me out for my wisdom tooth extractions. Though I was such a miserable bastard for the following 24 hours even with the drugs in my system. After that though, it was like I didn't even have the surgery except for the sockets in my mouth where teeth used to be.

Man...that guy hasn't been brushing very well. Look at all those fillings. Tsk tsk.

Not just anime but RPGs (SquareEnix, I'm looking at you). You have to connect with your target audience somehow. But I agree, bring forth more pissed-off, middle-aged men to save the universe!

Most if not all of of the bigger cats are taken by other professional teams (Panthers, Jaguars, Tigers, and so on) and apparently there's an unwritten law that says two professional teams within North America shouldn't have the same name...sans the football and baseball Giants. I'm probably wrong in that assumption, but that's what it looks like to me. Of course they could have just gone with the Charlotte Horsemen...

If you haven't lived off of eating Top Ramen or a week or four, either you're really well off or you've been spoiled. Since the goal is to get them OFF welfare, being "not enough" to live on is the best policy. -=Mike I agree with TheMikeSC here. The goal should be to help the homeless on their way back to becoming effective members of society and not to allow them, to put it bluntly, freeload. If you give too much welfare, there is no incentive for a homeless person to try to find opportunies to become self-sufficient. You also get San Francisco's dilemma of more homeless people coming to your city to take advantage of your generosity.

One not mentioned thus far: Tokyo Magnum. Bumpin' entrance music and a dance number like it's a f'n party. I'd also like to use the Gangrel Elevator or Mysterio's high-speed variation. How about any wrestler managed by Slick? Coming out to "Jive Soul Bro" would just be grand.

*Tosses a bottle of SN Pale Ale in Flesher's direction* Damn, that puts my recent accomplishment to shame. I'm finally out of JuCo and on my way to a state university with two AAs in tow. And it took how long to get to this point? ...4 years. Damn the process of working full-time to pay off my own education. Everyone wish me luck that I can get out of CSU, Sacramento in two years...because I CAN'T AFFORD ANYTHING BEYOND THAT.

So does anybody want to start a pool on what the next classic film to get a Hollywood remake will be?

I've got the entire series bootlegged. Honestly, the only Love Hina anime episode I like and go back to watch is the Christmas special. It has less of the fanservice and comedic violence and it's slightly more plot driven compared to the episodes. I can't recollect anything real memorable from the TV series, the spring special is there for fanservice...and then there's the LH Again episodes...

Godsend (2004) 6.5/10 I thought it had some good scares and moments, but when the pieces of the puzzle come together, it's a bit of a letdown. I didn't like the ending either.

I'm currently wearing a pair of white Asics cross training shoes that are so worn down that they might fall apart at any given moment. They're my normal day shoes until I go out and get a new pair. I also own a pair of black Sketchers low cut boots that I've found to look decent with a dress shirt and slacks.

The Metal Slug/KoF combo has perked my interest, but I'm still waiting to see which versions of each game we get. I don't quite understand why they would release Samurai Showdown 5 if they're also going to release Samurai Showdown 5 Special.

I find the generic score for "Martial Arts" a little disappointing. Muay Thai kickboxing by itself would outscore the generic Martial Arts score as would MMA. Rugby losing out to American Football in all categories except endurance doesn't settle well with me either.

My yearbooks remind me that I only have kept in constant touch with three of the thousand students at my high school because I didn't give a damn about those other 997 asses. I never was sold on the high school class ring and varsity jacket. It's a fashion statement that's obsolete when you graduate and leave for better things. I've got yearbook pictures and my diploma and that's all I need from them. However, I may break down and get one whenever I graduate from college.

ICP getting no mention in the worst song list yet taking honors as Blender's worst band says something about the thought putting this list together. After thinking about it, this isn't a "Worst Song" list but more of a "Bad But Popular Songs" list. Start listing Yoko Ono's supposed songs and then you'd be making headway for a worst song list.

Anybody else remember Chan Ho Park going for the flying Liu Kang kick on Tim Belcher in the Dodgers-Angels game a few years back? That was gold.

I've got a HP CD-writer and use the bundled software to burn my CDs. I haven't had troubles with it until I noticed something with a non-stop CD I was trying to burn. I try burning an exact copy of the CD but the copy always cuts the final 2 or 3 seconds of each track. Instead of a seamless transition between tracks, there's the annoying cut-off, the lead-in silence, and the next track. Anybody know if it's the burner, software or the way I'm burning my CD? (I always choose "Make an exact copy") Give me a hand here because I want my non-stop CDs to actually be non-stop.

I think headwise they've looked sharp since that's where the technology goes. They just use the same bodycast for most of the wrestlers, so you get ripped Regal, ripped Flair, and ripped Big Show with all three standing at the same height. Jakks probably figures it's not cost efficient to spend time to make a base model of Flair's sagging body and Big Show's larger frame.

I've never even heard of Blender. How credible are they? Due to personal bias, any "worst song" list that ranks Ice Ice Baby higher than Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue will immediately be ignored.

So now I have to deal with team momentum and player composure? God bless EA for adding the psychological element of football.
