*Sniff* Goodbye Top 10 ranking, I hardly knew ye....
-
I love this game
-
Holy shit, LSU gets a TD on a 4th and 10 pass
-
LSU blocks ANOTHER punt, 21-17.
-
How is the Top 10 going to look tomorrow? I don't think OSU will fall that far, Michigan is likely to take a drop, Iowa is out of the top 10 as well...
-
Ohio State isn't eliminated. Let's face it we know how the polls work, if you lose at the beginning of the year you can recover and run the table and get in if there isn't more than one undefeated team. Now time to focuse on ASU/LSU, Sun Devils up 17-7 late in the 3rd. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh I know OSU isn't out of it yet, but I think Texas can probably run the table this year and USC should be able to go undefeated again. And this is obviously Bizarro World as Mack Brown has won a big game...

Texas has two more obstacles, Oklahoma and Texas A&M. They get past those two games, they'll definitely beat the Big XII North rep and go to Pasadena.
-
Well it's pretty much over now. This'll make the Tennessee-Florida game another elimination game for the Rose Bowl.
-
I would find it infinitely funny if Texas won this game and still lost to Oklahoma.
-
OSU will just stick to Tresselball here and hope to hang on for the win.

Merril basically wants to be in the news. He's simply doing this act to piss the Eagles fanbase off because he did it last year as well with the 8-8 prediction. He couldn't do any segments in Jacksonville during the Super Bowl because the Eagles fans down there were booing the shit out of him.

South Carolina is going to halftime with a 9-7 lead
-
Also adding to that is that Notre Dame has a bye week before the USC game, which gives Weis extra time to gameplan for that meeting. If Notre Dame beats Purdue on October 1st, it's not crazy to say the Notre Dame-USC game will be a meeting of Top 5 teams since some of these teams in the Top 10 will fall due to playing each other.

I don't think Michigan will win another NC until Lloyd Carr retires. He can recruit with the best of them, but the man constantly gets outcoached in big games. They'll win the conference titles, but they have to do something about these kinds of losses if they want to win NCs. I see Michigan at either 9-2 or 8-3 this year depending on how Ohio State and Iowa do this year. ND will probably get up to about 11-12 in the polls next week. They're looking at 8-3 or maybe 9-2 if they can pull off an upset in one of the three remaining tough games of theirs this year (@Purdue, USC, and Tennessee).

Michigan can't move the ball and Notre Dame looks like they'll win
-
Michigan won't win this review, Quinn looked to be down before the ball came out.
-
Henne now fumbles the ball at the goal line and ND recovers..
-
Michigan can kiss the Rose Bowl goodbye if they dont get a TD on this play...
-
Michigan just pissed away a big opportunity with a Henne INT in Notre Dame territory..
-
If ND holds on and wins here, they'll probably be undefeated when they go to Purdue, and if they can pull off the upset in West Lafayette, undefeated going into the USC game.
-
ND got another TD, 14-3
-
Take it easy on Merril, he probably had another concussion going into the studio.... Oh and when I see Merril try and justify his 49ers over Eagles pick next week, I am going to laugh my ass off...
-
As I look at this pregame stuff, I am reminded how happy I am that they'll never do this kind of crap in Philly again after Ja Rule got booed off the field a couple years ago...

The 2002 playoff loss was actually closer than the score indicated. It was 13-6 until the 4th quarter, and Vick had a TD run that got negated by a holding call (and he got CREAMED by Dawkins on that play too). The NFC Championship was close until Vick self-destructed in the 2nd half. I'd say that the best way to beat Vick is do what the Eagles and Bucs did in their games last year, which is have a quick defense that contains him by closing off his running lanes and forcing him to stay in the pocket, making him rely on passing, which he's not very good at. For this, you need an athletic DE, like Jevon Kearse or Simeon Rice. The Atlanta WRs are not very good, so solid DBs can contain them. If one shuts down the Atlanta running game, the Falcons offense can rendered ineffective.

All ESPN has to do now is fire Merril Hoge and all will be right with the world...
