Going to a casino for the first time.

The only problem with rebuilding for the Sixers is that Billy King will be overseeing it. I mentioned before that it'll be a long time before he gets fired because it seems that in Ed Snider's eyes, King is in Bob Clarke territory, namely being Snider's adopted son in the way that Clarke is. Gee I can't wait for the Sixers to win 40 games, get the 8 seed, get swept in the first round by Miami, Detroit, or Chicago, then not have their lottery-protected 1st rounder because of one of Billy's genius moves. This proves that whether it's NBA careers, coaching (Quin Snyder, Tommy Amaker), or front office people (Billy King)....never bring in one of Coach K's players.

Spring college football practices are starting...

It's not like he's facing Bob Stoops, Jim Tressel, Tommy Tuberville, and Mark Richt in the first 4 games. Chan Gailey is a consistent 7-5 coach, Paterno more or less relies on his assistants now, Lloyd Carr got outcoached by Willingham 2 of 3 times, and John L. Smith isn't exactly great shakes either. Weis pretty much coached circles around Dave Wannstedt, Carr, Joe Tiller and others last year, and did a great job against Carroll, he'll be fine. -

I'm thinking the opposite there. GT beat Auburn last year in the opener, but Auburn was also breaking in a new QB and RB and it still was a close game, along with Reggie Ball getting worse as the year went along, and GT has had some injuries in their secondary. The PSU game depends on how Morelli plays against Akron in the opener. If he does well and gets time in the pocket against ND, that has the makings of a major shootout. LLLloyd Carr has never won in South Bend(Michigan hasn't won there since 1994), and it's also Michigan's road opener, so recent history says go against UM in those circumstances. Michigan State is on the road, but it's a revenge game for ND due to last year's upset, and ND has won the last 2 times in East Lansing. In guessing the likeihood of ND losing in the first 4 games, I'd go like this: PSU most likely GT UM MSU least likely -
You could always stop watching ESPN... Anyway, that site DRH provided is a good place, I put together an entire workout based off that site's suggestions.

If anything, it means that Reno Mahe's useless ass gets to leech another years' salary off the team...

I bet Sal's Pals are going to be pissed.

I had an awesome Notre Dame @ Penn State game today. The PSU linebacking core in this game is great, especially Pozluzny, who's like a 98. Derrick Williams can apparently catch any ball too.

Phillies Pharm Report, Part Two

Stark wrote this week that apparently the Mets are thinking of offering a package for Abreu including Lastings Milledge. Would you do it? The thought of Abreu haunting the Phils for the next few years as a Met is scary, but Milledge has the potential to be a downright awesome outfielder for the next 10-12 years. -

Quite hilarious quote from Lute Olson in the ESPN Pac-10 summer preview: This coming from a man who once cancelled a game against Saint Joseph's in the Palestra in 1996 due to a weather report forecasting a snowstorm... -

It's obvious that he wants to say his son. Think about it, since Mark Richt left for Georgia in 2001, their offense has fallen off from the glory years of 1991-2000... -
I'm back as Philly

Don't forget establishing the slush fund as well, along with having a suck-ass team for the next 15 years after the sanctions. NCAA Head Coach: Lou Holtz Version. See how many schools you can leave in trouble with the NCAA after coaching there. NCAA Head Coach: Bobby Bowden version. Deal with player arrests by giving some of the most lax punishments ever. Also find ways to keep your talentless son employed, all while trying to finally find a decent kicker.
-
Know what the game needs, even though the NCAA would never approve of it? Booster mode: SEC Version. Pull power plays to get coaches fired, try not to get caught giving high school coaches $25,000 to get their top players to your school, give recruits new cars and all while avoiding the NCAA!

Big East conference opponents matchups for 2006-2007 I'm loving the fact that Nova gets a home-and-home with Georgetown. I'm guessing that the Wachovia Center games next year will be Georgetown, Pitt, Notre Dame, Louisville, and Texas. -
I would do the deal with the Clippers that Screamin A talked about. I don't want any part of Kenyon Martin, his bad knees, or his gigantic contract.

*Cheap shot at the Phillies coming* Bon Jovi is having a concert at Citizens Bank Park this weekend, so it will be the only time this year that one can go to that stadium and be satisfied with the on-field product.

The media will overrate Danica Patrick because they want to see a woman driver succeed in NASCAR.... Oops now I'll have to resign from TSM... -
Ryan Howard won the HR derby last night, so that's one thing us Phils fans have to cheer about this year. Bill Giles (part-owner of the Phillies) was saying moronic things in the papers today, such as "Brett Myers wasn't hitting his wife, he was helping her." Maybe Bill is just getting old.... I move to Pennsylvania in less than a month. Pretty exciting stuff, I just have to call Comcast now and see how much they're going to fuck me over with cable and internet fees, along with how much Peco will charge me a month for electricity. Once I get all situated, I'm going to try and get up to Lehigh and see the Eagles training camp. A Septa pass for me to get to school and back is going to be $60 a month. Yeesh, better than driving though and dumping $90 per month into gas. That's all for now, I'll try to get back on the "College Hoops New Hires" column when I can.

I'm focusing less on trying to build muscle now and more on cardio. Did 2 1/2 miles on the treadmill today, that was quite the killer...

Despite that wage increase, at least your state didn't have to deal with a fucking SHUTDOWN thanks to Governor Assclown and the state legislature of morons. Apparently we lost millions per day thanks to our great state government, all because Corzine and the Dem majority were fighting over which tax to raise. Idiots... -
And he hit the 500 free flights sign to end it.

I remember PSU/ND from that year, can't wait for that series to restart in September. Here's a YouTube clip for you, the intro to the ND-Tennessee game in 1991 from NBC: 1991 Tennessee at Notre Dame NBC intro Doesn't it look like Holtz throws a punch at the fan?

Randall's greatest play right there, that or the long bomb to Fred Barnett in Buffalo in 1990. Dawkins brings the workrate, Theismann cries over it

I'm suprised he didn't go for the obvious Brett Myers joke.
