Biggest "Drop the Ball" Moment in Ever
EVIL~! alkeiper replied to TMC1982's topic in General Wrestling
That womens battle royal at Superclash III aired on Legacy last month, and it was awful. With David McClaine on commentary it came off incredibly sleazy. -

Ballpark. A lot of that can be explained simply by the hitting environment in Texas. -
I started watching in November of 1990. Right up my alley if they indeed start in Dec.

McGwire's a separate category. Given the question, you can either admit, deny, or plead the fifth. Pleading the fifth is like denying, except then the government can't spend $50 million plus to put you in jail for three months because of it. -
Dawson also won four Gold Gloves as a center fielder, four more in right. Five of those seven players you listed made significant contributions on defense. Rice played left field in front of a short wall.

And did Rodriguez ever lie? I don't recall him being asked the question, though I could be wrong. And no, he's not going to flat out admit something he hasn't been caught for. How many of you have walked into your local police station and confessed to speeding? -

Just look at how the media has treated Pettitte, Giambi etc. compared to Bonds and Clemens. That's why Rodriguez came out and admitted limited usage. It's the proper PR move. -
And they have the defense. Notice how Sabathia got significantly better when he had J.J. Hardy playing behind him?
-
I don't think the Brewers are significantly worse. They lost Sheets and Sabathia, but they get back Yovani Gallardo. They still have their entire lineup coming back.
-
The Atlanta Braves? Did they suddenly acquire an outfield over the weekend?

Let's talk about the Texas Rangers. I'm on record saying the pitching staff problems are due in part to below average fielding. That's why so many of their pitchers excelled outside Arlington. They have a tough home park and a tendency to make hitting their overriding factor in team building. So you've had Josh Hamilton stretched in center field, Michael Young stretched at short, etc. This team seems to have acknowledged the latter problem by moving Michael Young to third base and plugging in Elvis Andrus (Omar Vizquel is a NRI and a decent bet to take the job to start). The Rangers have the deepest farm system in the majors at the moment. Neftali Feliz throws 100mph fastballs. Lefty Derek Holland is right behind him. They have two center field prospects in their top 10 as well. If the defense brings a spike to their pitching performance, this team could win a division title as soon as this season. Andruw Jones though I wouldn't count on. He looks like burnt toast.

They should do a "Superstars of WCW" set. By acknowledging the individual wrestlers, they could stick to the party line that WCW was a shitty promotion, but had talented wrestlers.

I had it for a month and was satisfied. Check out your local blackout rules. I was under the impression that they didn't have Blackouts. One of the things that pissed me off about Direct TV EI is that all saturday afternoon games were blacked out due to Fox having the 1-7 p.m. exclusive window. I missed out on a Ton of Yankee games the last 2 years. How come you only had it for a month? I simply bought it near the end of a season. Blackouts are regional, if a team claims your area for television rights then they can't air the games on mlb.tv. Here's a handy map. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_wvoLtwni0kc/RhUv...MLBBLACKOUT.jpg

And really, considering Superstar Billy Graham was notorious for taking steroids in the late 70s, surely a few other professional athletes picked up on the idea. -
The Austin/Pillman gun angle was Nov. 1996.

Honestly, I would hazard a guess that it is but I don't have the facilities to run an adequate search.

It even goes beyond athletes. Entertainers take the stuff to look better on magazine covers. Records never bothered me. They are usually just reflective of their eras anyway. -
Yeah I disagreed with the pitchers. But considering how hard it is to rank pitchers, I wouldn't get terribly argumentative over it. Gibson and Carlton were very good.

It doesn't bother you if baseball players attempt to cheat? The culture bothers me, but at this point we've gone far beyond individual players trying to game the system. -

I've gone far beyond caring at this point. For some reason, this makes me think no less of Rodriguez. Ditto Clemens, McGwire, Bonds, etc. -
Wagner's on there because I needed as least one lefty reliever.
