Fair enough. But lets try and keep some good discussions going in other threads.

    OAO 2004 MLB Games Thread

Because I hate message boards cluttered with nothing other than "OMG....another Yankee hit." Find a live chat somewhere, or start one via AIM. THis is 5 pages long on the second day. It would be obscene by season's end.

As an aside, can we close this thread after the conclusion of today's games?

    MVP Baseball 2004

Greatest thing about this game: Duane Kuiper. It sounds exactly the same as my last name.

Good luck. The Giants are in serious trouble if Brett Tomko is their #2 starter.

    $3 Gasoline This Summer

I drive 22 miles to school, each day, 5 days a week. Work is 6 miles away, and I do that 5 times a week. The gal lives 30 miles away, but only 10 miles from the college. So gasoline adds up fast. And there is no practical public transportation.

    TSM Head-to-head FantasyBaseball League~!

Better than my brilliant move of picking up Damaso Marte. Still, I'm not counting him out. In fact, I should offer trades for him in other leagues and get him cheap.

I was hoping Kruk would just haul off and slap him. And Ravach too while he's at it.

    If you were the commish

Playing devil's advocate here. If a minor league system was developed, couldn't that kill the college game? Players would pick a paying job over college, and the league would use younger players because its more effective to use the league to develop future stars. In addition, as prospective players enter the NBA minor league instead of college, you get more uneducated players.

Roy Oswalt is kicking ass. Note to Harold Reynolds: This is why he is their poening day starter.

    If you were the commish

I think the owners would object more than the players, due to the loss of revenue. I don't think the players' union would object, since it would be offset by the increase in days off. Because each and every one of us selects their job based on the best offer possible. Its no different in any other occupation. Why should a free agent select an inferior offer?

The funny thing is, I just played MVP Baseball, thinking I could do better. I lost 3-2, and Mesa got the save. Damn Mesa.

What a game in Kansas City. The White Sox held a 7-3 lead over the Royals going into the bottom of the 9th. The Royals closed the gap to 7-4, and Chicago brought in new closer Damaso Marte, with one out and two on. Mendy Lopez hit a home run to tie the game. Marte walked Berroa, and Carlos Beltran hit a walk-off home run to win it.

That would be hideous. If you desperately need to give ongoing commentary of a game, find a live chat.

A double play, and Anglesault watching a non-Yankees game. Truly, a banner day for baseball.

That's a web gem right there. Moises Alou singles, double play.

I think that would be much better if it were the Expos.

I don't mean to diss the O's when I place them 4th. You have to consider the Blue Jays ranked second last year in runs scored, and they didn't lose a single player in their starting lineup. They have six guys who are still heading towards their prime. On top of that, they solidifyed their rotation. I don't think the Orioles are bad, its just that the Blue Jays are that good. As for the OaO thread, I propose making it the opening day discussion thread. No more OaO threads.

    Quick question about the Nets

They carry Manchester United soccer games. I've seen them carry high school baseball, and from time to time Columbus Clipper games.

Militon Bradley to play games in L.A.

Lets see. I'd probably still hold on to him for now. He's got some improvement left, and his walk rate is excellent.

Militon Bradley to play games in L.A.

Assuming your league counts OBP, I'd hold onto him for now.

Three games in, and we're still looking for a competitive game. Hopefully tomorrow.
