Its official. Eric Chavez signs a six year contract extension with the Oakland A's. Great move. He's won three gold gloves, but most people don't realize how great a fielder Chavez is. And he can maul the ball.
-
5 for 8 so far, with no missed picks pegged to escape the second round.
-
Taking a closer look, my matchup isn't as bad as it seems. Only down by two free throws, two 3 pointers, 26 points, 13 rebounds, one steal, and two blocks. Flik doesn't have anyone playing, while I've got two today.
-
My team's getting killed, again. I'm dumping all my players this offseason, and starting anew.
-
Brent Barry is on fire for my team. 28 points and 7 three-pointers.

Listening to Yankees/Phillies replay via the internet.....Gary Sheffield hit a monster home run off Roberto Hernandez. Obviously, SHeffield's injury doesn't seem like a big concern. In addition, Roberto Hernandez is indeed the second coming of Jose Mesa. Those 98mph fastballs come towards the plate in a straight line, and make an awfully cool image as they sail over the outfield roof.

Jay Gibbons is a decent hitter but he's probably at his peak. He's a sub-par fielder. I don't know what the Dodgers obsession is with half-decent hitters. They need a MONSTER bat. Odalis Perez would be a big mistake however. He allowed 28 home runs for the Dodgers last season. Putting him in Camden Yards, a big home run park, could spell disaster. And if the Dodgers part with Edwin Jackson for Gibbons, the Dodgers are nuts. No surprise. With three quarters of the Yankee infield signed for the next several years, the Yankees have no room for another free agent acquisition. Chavez is the best position player the A's have had throughout this run, so of course the A's will do their best to keep him.

I can't help but think Shane Mosley has tried to compete in too many weigh classes. He jumped from lightweight to junior middleweight awfully quick.
-
Damn. I had no idea he was even available. J.D.'s a great pickup. If he gets injured, stick him on the DL. No harm, no foul.
-
Mosley was already the undisputed junior middleweight champion. Piss on the ABC titles.
-
Yes, but I'd rather see it this way than the Oscar Dela Hoya method of pussyfooting around until you get the big fight. Mosley remains a good, exciting fighter. He's not going to pan out as an all-time elite boxer anymore, but he's easily within the top 5 of his division.
-
And of course, no re-match. I know alot of people are high on Mesi, but its hard to get excited about a 30 year old "prospect."
-
Winky Wright defeats Shane Mosley by unanimous decision, and claims the undisputed Junior Middleweight championship. Joe Mesi beats Vassily Jirov by unanimous decision in 10 rounds, but got knocked down three times in the process, all in the final two rounds.

Its the Fernwood Resort in Bushkill, PA. It couldn't have held more than 1,000 people tops. And parking sucked.

I think my sanity couldn't take predicting results in H2H leagues. -
I'm making a run at this league. I need to pull this matchup to 3-5 at least to stay in this thing.
-
When looking at these teams, keep in mind the level of competition. A team of exactly the same players will fare better in the one league only leagues than it will in a mixed league.

Keep in mind that the first match-up will run two weeks, until the 11th. -
In my A.L. league, I dumped Lance Carter and Dewon Brazleton, and picked up Fernando Rodney and Willie Harris. Harris could get the 2B job at Chicago, and Rodney is the front-runner to get the Tigers' closing job. If anyone needs steals, I'm looking to deal Alex Sanchez for some power.

Gary Sheffield might not miss any time. If he does, I can put him on the DL and find a waiver wire hitter. All indications are that Thome will make opening day. -
Ricardo Lopez. 51-0-1 (38). Rosendo Alvarez was the only boxer to give him as much as a challenge. Jimmy Wilde was rumored to compete as low as 98 lbs., yet was one of boxing's all time great knockout artists. Panama Al Brown stood 5'11" and yet competed at 118 lbs.

Isn't this a tad bit early to decide upon keepers? Most fantasy leagues I've heard of don't decide keepers until a month before the next season starts?

Usually strawweights stand around 5' tall.
