Six. 1947, 49, 52, 53, 55 and 56.

Yes, the Yankees have faced the Dodgers on 11 occasions, the last in 1981. They won 8 while the Dodgers won 3.

TSM Head-to-head FantasyBaseball League~!

If I join, that's no good. You should use the Yahoo draft. If someone can't make it, they can autodraft and everyone else can still participate as usual. As for my leagues, they're a special outside of TSM special challenge. I wanted to try my hand at AL and NL only leagues, and I figured I'd do it with people I know. For those of you not keeping track of the MLB offseason thread...... AL Only League ID: #15302 Password: thesmartmarks NL Only League ID: 15355 Password: thesmartmarks Feel free to join only one or the other if you're interested. Keep in mind these leagues will involve 14 and 16 teams, and so the player pool will be quite thin near the end, making for a challenge. -
I disagree with the Yankees/Dodgers assessment. 1952 and 53 are among the most overlooked series of all time. 1955 was a classic, and 1956 had Don Larsen. Than there's 1947 with Bill Bevin's no hitter turned loss. 1941, Mickey Owens passed ball costs the Dodgers game 4. Sandy Koufax decimates the Yankees in 1963. And of course, Reggie hits three off the Dodgers in a game in 1978.

TSM Head-to-head FantasyBaseball League~!

Tom's is rotisserie, as are mine. Tom has 12 slots, so it'll be more of an upper-level league. I know there will be more interested posters than that. And mine might be too competitive/difficult for some people. -
TSM Head-to-head FantasyBaseball League~!

You don't have to be so rash. There is room for many fantasy leagues. I know some people prefer the head-to-head style. Your league certainly isn't disapproved of here. -
Its not that she wasn't good. Its that it was a poor choice of words, and a BAD time to bring it up. I'll be surprised if he's not canned very shortly.
-
Tom did a league last year. In any case, there's room for both, especially since the two leagues use different formats. Even mine are AL and NL only, so each league has something different to offer.
-
He's not just over. He's INSANELY popular, both in Philly and around the country. I think the Sixers are among the top teams in road attendance. If Iverson goes, the Sixers better have a damned good trade set up.
-
So far I'm registered for four leagues, three as commish. EDIT: From Yahoo's Help Page
-
I get home around 7:20 on Mondays, so I should be able to work with that. EDIT: With Yahoo's system, you can pre-rank and the system will make the pick if you don't make it in time. That should make it easy for me.

I'm now opening the AL-only league. Same details as the NL league, except 14 teams. League ID: #15302 Password: thesmartmarks

Jayson Stark reports the Cards are close to a dear with Pujols. 7 years/$100 million, which works out to $14 million a year.
-
Never thought I'd see the Phillies on that list. Nice to see the team taking the hit in payroll rather than dumping a player.
-
Not really, after the Yankees I believe it was Anaheim that added the most payroll this off-season with the additions of Vlad, Jose Guillen, Bartolo Colon, and Kelvim Escobar I don't have details of their contracts handy, but I imagine they're backloaded. Aaron Sele and Kevin Appier come off the books after this season, at a savings of $20 million. They also dropped Scott Spiezio, and he made $4 Million last season.
-
#1 Payroll: NY Yankees #2 Payroll: Boston Pot. Kettle. Black.
-
Just goes to show you how fragile pitchers can be.
-
I really have no choice. I'm working three leagues this season. At the least, it should be easier with a smaller player pool. Besides, we all have the same problem.
-
Ok gang. I'm making my NL-only fantasy league available to the board in general. This league is a little tougher than the leagues you might be used to. I'm accepting 16 teams in this league. So basically you'll have to fill out your roster with outright bad players. Its an auto-draft, rotisserie format league. Positions are C, 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, 3 OF, 5 SP, 2 RP, 3 Bench, and 2 DL slots. Even weekends aren't usually that good, as many of us have part time jobs. -
That's probally the best thing he's got going for him as he ages. That, and I can't recall him EVER missing time from injuries. He's topped 32 starts (except for strike years) every season since 1988.
-
He trains a ton of guys, but whenever the news stories come out, its always BONDS' Personal Trainer. Its disgusting.
-
I don't see it happening. Pujols won't be any more expensive than Nomar this season, and the move would make the team worse. And Nomar's a free agent after this year anyway.
-
I think he'll be decent. Not great, but don't expect a Glavine-esqe collapse either. He still never walks anyone. I don't think ESPN has been updating that list like they did for the free agency one.
