What the bloddy fuck is this? You're blatently altering the stats to screw with a single owner, and changing the rules after the game has started.
-
Oh boy this should be interesting.
-
Shhh. Quiet you fool.
-
I don't think I could handle a Yankees/Marlins World Series.
-
Contraction was nothing more than MLB's ploy to con cities into funding brand new major league ballparks, whose profits would go directly to the owners of said teams. TV ratings are low compared to past ratings, but they are in no way tanking. There's just too much interest in baseball. And there's no way NASCAR is bigger than baseball.

As far as I know, Burnett won't be back until 2005.
-
The way I've got it figured, J's gonna pick Kobe, and I'll pick AI. Jason Kidd is likely going #6. Shawn Marion will still be around.
-
Given your position and my avatar, you can probably guess who won't be available when your turn comes up.

1. Baseball isn't doing badly. It's easily one of the top 2 sports in our country, along with football. 2. You could make the same argument about Henry Aaron. The National League expanded in 1962 and again in 1969. Did Aaron benefit from the diluted pitching then? 3. The career record means something considering that its only been broken once in the last 80 years. The single season record was broken by Ruth on 4 seperate occasions within 10 years. No one's hit above 60 the last few years. I think as the years go by, we'll see just how hard hitting 70 home runs is.

Wow. Seven posts or so look so bad right about now.

San Francisco @ Florida 1pm ESPN2 Jason Schmidt vs. Dontrell Willis Marlins lead series 2-1 Talk about an inning changing everything. The Giants were a strike away from taking a 2-1 lead, and I-Rod steps up and wins it. So now the Giants need to win two and a row. More importantly, the Marlins don't face Jason Schmidt if the series go to game 5. They've got him here, at home. So now the Marlins are just a win away. Anything can happen at this point, although you have to give the advantage to Schmidt. NY Yankees @ Minnesota 1pm ESPN Roger Clemens vs. Kyle Lohse Series tied 1-1 Its home field advantage versus talent. No disrespect to Lohse and the Twins, but we're talking about Roger Clemens here. Still, the Metrodome has always been the toughest park for visiting teams to play in. This should be an interesting game in any case. Atlanta @ Chicago 4pm fox Horacio Ramirez or Russ Ortiz vs. Matt Clement Dusty Baker is doing his best to destroy Mark Prior's arm. Say what you will about endurance. The kid is 22. 22 year olds aren't completely developed. Prior's workload could end in disaster. In any case, the Cubs have a chance to win at home. Matt Clement is spotty, but hopefully he can put it together. Oakland @ Boston 8pm ESPN2 Ted Lilly vs. Derek Lowe Oakland leads 2-0 We've heard all the stories about the A's '01 season and the Sox' '99 season before. Just keep this in mind. In order for the Red Sox to win, they have to win three games in a row, while the A's just need one. I think the series is Oakland's for the taking at this point.
-
I think we should open up a new thread devoted entirely to the draft picks.
-
Here's the rationale. If the Red Sox are going to win this series, they need to win three games. If Pedro pitches game 4, the Sox will still need Burkett to pitch game 5. They might as well pitch Burkett at game 4 and make sure Martinez is fully rested if there is a game 5.
-
133 pitches. Unbelievable. Good win for the Cubs though.
-
It's started now. As soon as Marvin makes his pick, we're off and running.
-
114 pitches. Prior AVERAGED 130 down the stretch in his last six starts. Any bets on how long before his arm falls off?
-
The offline draft is working now, as far as I'm concerned. Let it go at its own pace. It'll have moments where we breeze through 5-6 picks in a matter of minutes.
-
I live draft would be better, but trying to schedule it around 16 schedules is almost impossible. Almost all of us have jobs or schooling, if not both.
-
An offline draft means the draft takes place wherever (in this case here) and then afterwards the commissioner submits the rosters to the Yahoo league.
-
Cubs score 2 in the first, and I don't think the new found duo of Maddux and Lopez are mixing very well.
-
Wow. Just wow. I-Rod drives in all four Marlin runs. This game may have been even better than the Red Sox/A's game.
-
You've all forgotten Sam Bowie. For shame.
-
Mik- About that sinking feeling you get when Braden Looper enters a game. Imagine having that feeling 24/7 and that's what life as a Phillies fan is like.
-
McGrady is better than Kobe straight off. I can't in good conscience take Kobe over Iverson. And Paul Pierce? I'm conflicted, but Pierce will deliver the numbers.

Tied at 2 in the 7th. This is shaping up to be a really good game. Like I said in the preview, if the Marlins lose, I don't think they can win the series, because they'd have to beat Jason Schmidt in Pac Bell to win it.
