This week's episode has the Midnight Express against Ray Traylor and Phil Brown. It's interesting to see the Express beat the crap out of the guy who became their bodyguard later in the year.

What's this all about? I don't follow ECW or Smackdown all that much. They are participants in a battle royal at Wrestlemania, the winner to fight Chavo Guerrero for the ECW title that night.
-
I don't know about guys on minor league deals, but Jim Bullinger has to be the worst pitcher in recent memory to start Opening Day twice ('95 Cubs, '97 Expos). It would not be Steve Trachsel's first Opening Day start either, he started for the Cubs on Opening Day 1999.
-
Kent Tekulve is on pace to pitch 246 innings. At least my starting pitching held up this time.
-
I'm surprised Vince doesn't throw in Jerry Graham at the same time.
-
Colin Delaney vs. Chavo Guerrero. Gotta love that Colin actually looks bigger face to face.
-
I was already miffed that they declined to mention the game while Giese was pitching. He's just a NRI for the Yankees, but he pitched well over several seasons for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
-
On another note, I decided to check out VT's baseball alumni. No baseball stars, but Dell Curry (P, Orioles), Bimbo Coles (SS, Angels) and Michael Vick (OF, Rockies) were all drafted by MLB teams. None played minor league baseball.
-
Damnit Michael Kay, Giese is NOT pronounced "Geese."
-
Santino's amusing. That doesn't warrant a higher push or anything, he's perfectly fine in his role right now.
-
The steroids yes. I don't think HGH has the same type of injury rate.
-
I know this Yankees/VT game seemed like a good idea, but it's such a horrific mismatch on paper that it could get ugly. Damon walks on four pitches.

I'm pretty sure that Harlem Heat music is some kind of public domain/generic music.
-
I'm not a fan, but I don't see the point in bashing a niche sport with a smaller fan base.

Please don't take this as me trying to pick fights, I just want to argue the point a little. Let's not even start with the difference in calling someone "properly trained" and the aforementioned "barely trained". What, in your eyes, makes someone properly trained? They've thrown this girl in the ring for what 4 years now? What does she have to do, work her way up through indy feds, pay her dues and graduate OVW to be "properly trained"? Shouldn't her healthy amount of actual ring experience coupled with former training be enough to at least not lap her in with women who just outright shouldn't be in the ring? Do you really agree that she's just eye-candy? It's more in the types of training. In basic wrestling training the emphasis is on learning fundamentals, learning how to work a basic match, getting your timing down and all that fun stuff. It's a bit different from learning how to do spots in a match. The big problem is that WWE's women increasingly attempt more dangerous moves in the ring without that proper foundation, and it bites them.

Jim Caple interviews R.A. Dickey. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...mp;sportCat=mlb Check out the video. Great stuff.
-
Candice improved and can pull off some moves. That does NOT make her a properly trained wrestler.

Under the Preview section.

That Yankees/VT game will air on the YES Network, locally in Virginia, and on www.baseballchannel.tv.
-
Mania Freeview is actually some of the classic Wrestlemania matches in full. Andre/Studd, Hogan/Andre, Austin/Michaels, Taker/Kane, etc.
-
ESPN has Washington/Detroit at 1pm ET today. The Yankees are playing an exhibition at Virginia Tech. It's bad enough to have your school shot up without getting subjected to Derek Jeter and company. Maybe Shelley Duncan will spike their second baseman.

Interesting article here. Thoughts? http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/sto...&id=3299217

2-1 record so far. Great hitting but man my starting pitching sucked.
-
Watching the match, I really despise this shit. No wrestler regardless of their position on the card should be dispatched in 30 seconds. It's ridiculous.

No Hall of Fame inductee this week?
