Sorry guys. Bartolo Colon isn't in the player pool. Cheech will have to pick someone else. Everything has been entered and ready to go since Sunday night. All I need is that last player from Cheech and then we'll be good to go.
-
I saw that Smoltz was your 3rd best starter when I was entering all the picks last night. I muttered holy shit to myself. I was also really impressed with Will Scarlett's team.

Team Random Hero C - J.R. Towles 1B - Prince Fielder 2B - Rickie Weeks SS - Yuniesky Betancourt 3B - Scott Rolen OF - Carlos Lee OF - Jason Bay OF - Michael Cuddyer Util - Justin Upton (OF) SP - Pedro Martinez SP - Ian Snel SP - Brian Bannister RP - Francisco Rodriguez RP - Chad Cordero P - Justin Duchscherer (RP until he becomes SP eligible) P - Micah Owings (SP) BN - Clay Buchholz (SP) BN - Homer Bailey (SP) BN - Scott Baker (SP) BN - Dallas McPherson (3B) I should have a roster space opening up once the season starts. There's a good chance Scott Baker won't be ready to start the season and should end up on the DL. I'm perfectly fine with that too.

If Marvin gets a 6-2 win this week, we'll pretty much be dead even for 5th place going into the final week. I'm probably going to end up with a 4-4 tie this week. The final week I'll be playing last place. So, 'hopefully' I can hold onto that 5th spot. We shall see though.

Yes, let’s get it done. For the last 2 rounds, 4 hour time limit? Sound good? That way we can get this shit over with. If you are not going to be online or have had trouble making picks in a timely fashion, Gabe, Stephen Joseph, Precious Roy, send your perspective picks to me or someone else and we'll post them for you. Tomorrow night I'm starting the process of entering everything into yahoo.

Yeah he's not in the fucking yahoo player pool...

Last year's champ was Deep Thought. He was the 4th seed going into the playoffs and managed to pull off the win.

I'm just glad I'm done drafting players. Last year I went the route of trying to get a solid veteran pitching staff. That all went down hill after the first month when they were all out with injury. I knew it was a question mark going into the season, but I didn't think it would have ended up as awful as it did. This year I went young. My team's average age is 26. Pedro is my oldest player. I don't have a problem with that since he pitched great at the end of last season. His K/IP rate was fantastic. I have a huge surplus of good young pitchers, so even if he misses time I shouldn't have to scramble to replace him. I also won't have to play the game of trying to unearth saves on the waiver wire this year. SS and 3B are my weakest positions. SS usually doesn't produce that great of stats unless you have one of the top 3 guys so I didn't feel like wasting any early picks on a guy that was just going to perform at the average level. I managed to find a fairly economical guy to fill the SS position. With all the quality third basemen getting scooped up early, I'm more than happy with a revitalized Tony LaRussa-less Scott Rolen in round 12.

Johnson is expected to miss the entire 08 season. I haven't seen any report saying he'd be back as early as July. He isn't in the Marlins plans at all this year. They are looking at him for spring training 09. If he pitches it wouldn't be until probably September and it'd only be to see how he is progressing against major league batters. Carpenter also underwent Tommy John and isn't expected to be back before the All Star Break. It almost seems like the Cards are rushing him back for some reason. Why the Cardinals would even bring him back at all this season seems stupid since their team has no shot at getting to the playoffs. Both guys if they pitch at all this season are just going to be trying to get there arms up to strength for next season.

Sorry, he isn't in the Yahoo player pool. You'll have to pick someone else. I've been trying to check anyone I haven't heard of and he didn't show up.

I only have 1 more pick left and then my team is finished. I'm gonna be on pretty much all night so if anyone needs to pm picks I'll be here.

My keepers are going to be the same as last year. Dwyane Wade, Deron Williams, and Al Jefferson. Well it appears I should be a lock to get into the playoffs. I face 18th place this week and 20th place next week. I'm THRILLED that my team will now be without Dwyane Wade for the rest of the season... Wade will now become my teams official bench cheerleader. I finally got my roster in order and had a squad that was statistically playing good enough to win in most matchups and now Wade is done. His production really fell off the past 2 weeks. I think my team faired well enough those weeks. I decided to end the TJ Ford and the Mark Blount experiments in favor of a couple of guys producing in specific stat categories. Aside from the PG position I still think my team is really deep and I like the fact that I now have a team that I can start guys depending on what categories I need and not just who is going to produce and who isn’t. I already started tinkering with my roster before the all star break to try and start changing it so that once the inevitable came I'd be somewhat prepared for it. We'll see if I can make it 3 years in a row I make a 2nd round exit from the playoffs.
