EDIT: Fuck, I hate time changes.

Team Random Hero selects... Yuniesky Betancourt, SS, Mariners He's the one being restrained at the bottom of the picture.

I didn't get a PM so others might not have gotten it either. I agree with the move, the pace is ridiculously slow now and I forgot all about the early Japan games. I tracked all of the pm's and there was a pm sent out to you. It is listed as unread. As long as everyone knows about the change that's what is important.

If you think you might end up with a pick in the middle of the night, early morning, or some time you know you never can get to the computer just send whoever drafts after you your pick. Since you have 2 picks really close to each other just send a pick to Vitamin X and another one to St. Gabriel for your follow up pick. That way you may not be online for any of your picks but you technically wont' get skipped and you'll still get exactly who you want.

I sent a pm to everyone in the league so that everyone knows about the change. I also think next year we should change the time limit to either 18 or 20 hours. It's not a big change but it's enough to keep the draft moving along a little better I think. If no one is opposed I'll just add it to the league rules so that it doesn't get forgotten.

Looking back at the past week we've barely made any progress. Alright let's get this shit moving, following St. Gabriel's pick the time is gonna get cut down to 8 hours per round. We'll see how much that speeds it up. If it isn't helping I'll cut it down to 6 hours for the following rounds. If people are still taking the full time limit it still isn't gonna help. We need to get back to getting a minimum of 6 to 8 picks per day. We've got 116 picks left and about 18 days left. More than likely people are gonna get skipped at some point. Normally I am in the thread pretty regularly so feel free to send picks to me. I have Cartman's pick I also may not be on a lot tonight so I'll probably forward Cartman's pick and my pick to Harley since he's drafting after Cartman and prior to me.

Yeah, we're in the longest rounds of the draft right now. There aren't very many keepers in these rounds. I think we are still ok with time. Just be sure to pm whoever is next each time you are finished with your selection. If you know you might not be around, pm your pick to someone else. The pace has slowed down a lot though...

I'm fine with it. I'm probably done making any major transactions since I'm in the playoff battle. I would be slightly annoyed if there are any ridiculous trades going down that drastically improve playoff bound teams. I was just wondering what was up since I only noticed the change because I clicked on the view all transactions log to see who got added/dropped tonight. I doubt any trades will even happen the rest of the way unless someone can pull off a deal for the rights to Greg Oden. Also, scheduling has been a disaster for me this week. Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday I have everyone on my roster playing. On the other days I only have 1 to 2 guys playing. Worst lineup schedule I've had all year. If I can some how get a 5-3 victory, this week has been a major success.

So... is there any particular reason why the trade deadline got changed from March 6th to No Deadline?

I'm pretty sure I know who you're talking about. I'm not 100% sure but I'm at least 90% sure. Damn, I thought I was the only one that even remembered him... I looked for him already too, only because I'm lacking at that position. If he manages to win a job, I thought he'd be serviceable.

If he isn't in the Yahoo database, he can't be drafted. Sorry. It sucks but its the only way we can do it. We can't complete the draft in the league if every team doesn't have a full roster of players from the yahoo database. We talked about it last year too and it was generally decided it'd end up getting to ridiculous in the late rounds with people laying claim to minor league prospects that may or may not get called up during that year. All I can say is keep tabs on what he's doing in AA or AAA through baseball america and pounce on him with your waiver claim as soon as yahoo adds him. I was really surprised they had Evan Longoria and Jay Bruce in the player pool as soon as they did this year. Also, I'm enjoying my team a lot more than what I had on my roster last season. Last year's squad was a nightmare. This year I actually have some semblance of an outfield and a fairly durable young pitching staff, aside from the elder statesman Pedro.

Yeah, no way you could warrant keeping a .222 batting average in the first round. If he can get back to .260, I think that's good enough to make him not completely kill your OBP and still get you a ton of power production.

Daniel Gibson's shooting was very impressive. I think I was more impressed with how good Al Horford looked out there. He was looking impressive in the first half when both teams were still playing a tiny bit of defense, prior to the game getting out of hand in the second half. He was a beast. He was cleaning up garbage missed shot attempts and converting them for points, rebounding, flying all over the court, and blocking shots. I had nothing to do tonight. So, I watched the entire Celebrity All-Star Game... Since I sat through it that means everyone else gets to read about that abortion of a game. James Lafferty from One Tree Hill actually knew what he was doing out there. To bad know one else looked like they had ever seen a basketball game before. He was the only guy actually setting up pick and rolls and actually attempting to play something closely resembling basketball. He was filling up the stat sheet early on with points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks. He had a nice looking jumper and had a nice looking reverse lay-up. Eventually ESPN decided the chef that they had there cooking a 4 course meal, was more entertaining than the actual game itself so they started showing Stu Scott act like a jackass with the chef. Master P never got back on defense. He would just stand back waiting to get a transition basket. Chris Tucker hit a couple of three's. Terry Crews did some ridiculous dance at half court coming back from a commercial break. Deion Sanders scores a ton of points and pulled down a bunch of rebounds. T.O. shows up in the 2nd quarter and immediately just ball hogs the remainder of the game. Taylor Hicks from American Idol falls down on the court repeatedly and for some reason decided at a critical point at the end of the 4th quarter, he of all people needs to try and drive to the basket and score. It didn't work out well for him at all. Luckily with T.O.'s constant shot attempts and James Lafferty's actual knowledge of how to play defense and organized basketball Stephen A. Smith's squad defeated Bill Walton's team. I hope the 1,000 people in attendance at the convention center in New Orleans didn't have to pay to watch that... They didn't even get to see the chef make some damn fine looking food.
