I don't think things are going to change anytime soon. the reason for this is(and someone can correct me here if I'm mistaken) is that if I recall correctly, WWE is extremely profitable right now, bringing in more revenue and making a bigger profit than it ever has before. This alone would convince Vince and company to continue doing what they are doing.

What do you mean ruin the thread? This thread is awesome. I completely forgot about PG13.

Agreed. If this can happen, anything is possible:

The 2008 HOF didn't count as WWE programming? Wow I uh...completely forgot about the HOF for a minute there Which is odd, because it was awesome.
-
Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, or both, will wrestle at WM 25. The Rock will appear on WWE programming in some form for the first time since his taped appearance before WM 22. (possibly in another taped appearance)

Survivor Series 96 and Judgment Day 2000 say hello. Just sayin. Hello what? Guy's right. X7 was the pinnacle of each man's career. His opinion is that they had better matches. I'd agree with Austin having better matches, but I don't think Rock's Ironman Match tops WrestleMania X-Seven. When I'm talking with friends or something, and we start to discuss our favorite matches, this is the first that pops to mind. I have yet to have another pro wrestling match top how I felt during, and after Rock vs Austin from Wrestlemania X-SEVEN. Austin's desperation to win back the gold, and prove to himself that he "still has it" after his year-long recovery from neck surgery, even if it involves selling his soul to his most hated enemy to get the job done. I love the story told in this match. There are those that will argue that the ending was overbooked, and to an extent it was. The ending just played into Austin's desperation. Others may feel differently, or see the story differently, but that's my take on it. After being prompted by this thread to watch them all again (WM XVII, Judgment Day 2000, and Survivor Series 96 it had been a while since I had seen all three) I'll concede that WM XVII is the better Rock match(although I still love the Iron Man match), but I still think Survior Series 96 is Austin's best work. Although I'm derailing the thread, sorry about that. On the bright side, this thread has given me lots of excellent matches to re-watch

Does anyone know if WM XXIV is the only PPV that has been released on blu-ray? I can't seem to find anything about any of the other subsequent PPVs. If so, does anyone know when they're going to start doing a BD and a DVD for every PPV?

I've mostly lurked here for almost 5 years. It's gotten to the point where I rarely visit anymore, mostly because as others have said, other things come up in life as you age. If you don't have new members to replace the old ones as they leave, things die down, as has happened here.

This is a demo of what it will look like: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/nxe/

This is an awesome team name.

How was Shawn able to came back in 2002 and wrestle since then? I thought his back problems caused him to retire permanently after WrestleMania XIV?
-
Seriously. Why release Stevie after ALL this time? Crazy. I can't believe he's finally gone after surviving so many of the previous roster cuts.
-
This came out today. I haven't seen it yet but I definitely want to.

and the reason I'll personally be buying the DVD: No Benoit Edmonton match, and no Benoit/Jericho vs. Austin/Triple H from May 2001. Those are to be expected absent. But no Austin/Angle from SummerSlam 2001? I thought for sure that would be on here.

Are they charging more for HD?
-
Since the below is generally true, try to find a consistent group of people to play with. Either in a clan or on a message board. Then you won't have these problems.
-
Other than price, what is the difference between buying the anthologies (Royal Rumble, WM, etc.) in different volumes versus buying the entire set in one package? Do you get a special case or something?

From Engadget: Apparently, the WWE will finally be rolling out a major pay-per-view event in high-definition some 12 months after UFC did the same. According to a tipster, Time Warner Cable (partly owned by Time Warner, parent company of AOL, which owns Engadget) is gearing up to offer the WWE Royal Rumble PPV event in HD when it airs on January 27, 2008. Of course, this shouldn't be too surprising considering that WWE was already planning to switch Smackdown to HD next month, but for fans of the sport, we're sure they'll be delighted to have the PPV matches in 1080i, too. We'll let you know if we hear anything official.

Plus, even not being a big fan of wrestling, you can create awesome edits such as... That's right, I created all of them too lol. THis is now officially the greatest wrestling game ever. EVER!

There were only three matches that I ever wanted to see the WWE do in the past decade: Angle/Michaels, Hogan/Austin and Michaels/Rock. I always hold out hope that one day I'll see the latter two at WM, which is the only reason I'd ever want to see the Rock back.
